Best coffee in Georgia and no one is even close. I don’t think I can ever drink Starbucks burnt beans compared to the perfectly roasted safe house coffee. It is worth the drive on Wednesday to get fresh roasted coffee

Hands down BESTCOFFEEINGEORGIA… BARNONE, the staff is great just wish they had a place closer to where I live or in the Atlanta area.

Ok this place needs some help, definitely a great space and can be trendy but staff need to perk up! They were dragging and in slow motion even when talking to each other. A coffee shop should have outgoing and bubbly people waiting on customers. The space is very cool and rustic but lacks decent furniture and some plush couches etc. the cappuccino is not all that, I asked for a double put into one to go cup and the girl said that’s basically a latte, um no honey latte is mostly steamed milk that’s why I wanted a cappuccino.

Definitely one of my, and every other local’s, favorite places to visit. Has a very relaxed and woodsy vibe — lots of unique seating areas and faded lighting. It’s one of the only«cool» places in Griffin, so be prepared to see the same hipsters outside on a day to day basis. Coffee is a little expensive(in the 4 to 6 dollar range) but it’s beyond delicious. You can definitely tell that it’s quality coffee, much better than anything you’d get from a Starbucks. Coffee is sourced through Guatemalan based ‘Thrive Coffee’, which benefits local farmers and harvesters in that specific area, instead of it being outsourced. Owner is very eco-friendly. Though it’s definitely a hipster joint, it’s not too pretentious or overwhelmingly ironic or quirky. People from all demographics pass through here. My signature order is the hot caramel latte, sweetened with a little sugar. Always nicely steamed and foamy. Definitely get it ‘for here’.

Not a bad place to go for being 2 blocks from my downtown apartment. The atmosphere is nice and modern, but I feel like it’s run by a bunch of wanna-be coffee snob hipster kids which makes for an awkward exchange for my husband and I; I will say, they know their stuff though. Most every time I go, an employee is too busy talking to friends. I heard the owners are nice. I get the iced caramel latte — a little strong, but not bad.

Small local coffee shops are always better than major coffee chains. The time that goes into prepping the coffee definitely shows in the flavor. Whether you’re into hot or iced coffee, they’ve got you covered. The iced mocha latte was perfect.

Nice little spot to sit and have coffee. The atmosphere was peaceful. Tea and espresso were both good. Staff was friendly and helpful considering I had no idea what to get. Good spot to go and warm up…

Amazing atmospheric old school coffee house. Making coffee slow and deliberate to order. The staff was nice and friendly. Great place.

I would have preferred that my coffee be hotter than it was. The coffee was luke warm. I like to warm up when I drink.

Cool location, really tasty coffee in a downtown setting. Prices are very reasonable and a variety of coffee beverages to choose from here. Highly recommended!

I went back in last week for a latte since my kitchen was deconstructed due to painting. The latte was again really delicious, but would it kill the guy(maybe the manager?) to not be so smug? It’s like he was mad I didn’t want a big black cup of joe. Sorry I take my cream with a little coffee. I even complimented him by saying that I’d been dying to come back since my last experience, and was literally met with silence. Crickets. What. In. The. World? I can think of five things immediately that would suffice as a response. So, if I’m going to park my car, walk in and order a latte, I’ll probably just go to Starbucks next time.

Live in a loft close to this coffee shop. Not a coffee drinker so have only tried their hot chocolate and vanilla creamer. Great atmosphere and people are super friendly. This is the closest thing to Starbucks you will find in Griffin. The upstairs area has a great seating that is a great place to sit and chat. I’ve come here a few times with a laptop or book to work and enjoy the setting. From what I’ve been told, there is a church that meets there and the business is owned by the members.

SafeHouse puts Starbucks to absolute shame! You will not regret going here. The staff is perfection and so is everything else they have to offer. My favorites– regular black coffee(the best you’ll ever have), their house-made vanilla, the chamomile green tea, and the pumpkin spice latte.

The staff is always friendly, and they brew each cup of coffee, one at a time, just for you. You can ask them about their method. It’s interesting to watch and backed by science.

Seeing how there’s not a whole lot in Griffin, this place is pretty good. i think that it succeeds in trying to be original, but I feel as though maybe it tries too hard. The prices are the same as say, Starbucks. The owners/baristas claim that if you put cream and sugar in the coffee that it ruins the coffee… the typical coffee snob attitude, which I think is ridiculous and is the main reason I was turned off by this place, besides the fact that their coffee wasn’t awesome.(Note: I visited this place in June 2011, so it may be different now.)

Absolutely wonderful coffeehouse in Downtown Griffin! The coffee is perfect, nice selection of treats and a huge space for meeting, hanging out or working! Everyone there is super nice and the story behind the business and space with the fire they got through is great so make sure to ask Steven or someone there to tell you all about it!

Price and quality and quantity and service merits 5 stars. Large brownies for only $ 1.50!!! Wish they were in my neighborhood.
