The Corner Cafe

We had a great experience dining at this resturant after visiting the local post office for our passports. The food was delish and the service was good. The cakes were out of this world. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

This is a good local spot to go for comfort food. Most is made fresh (the soup is outstanding) but some things are obviously fresh/​frozen (chicken fingers). The portions are really large and the prices are great for what you get. My husband loves the chicken fried steak dinner ($ 9.25) and my son loves the GINORMOUS cake called Cookie Monster. If you like sweets be sure to check out their amazing selection of fresh made cakes. This is a reliable go to spot for our family.

I can’t really speak on the food, but the cakes are seriously amazing! Don’t leave here without a slice!

Went to The Corner Café based on good reviews on Unilocal.Went in for lunch around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, ¼/​16. The food was ok (nothing noteworthy) and the service was extremely slow and not because I was busy on my cell phone. Didn’t meet their previous 4+ star reviews on Unilocal.If someone asked if they should go there, I’d say look elsewhere first.

After hearing rave reviews from friends, we decided to pop in to look at the menu! The owner was so welcoming, like a long lost relative welcomed home, that we stayed and were more than pleasantly surprised! The variety and selection on the menu is vast, the portions are more than anyone can eat at one sitting, the food is outstanding, and the service is over the top. We have found a new «go to» spot, for sure. We all left with go bags, holding enough for another meal!!! What are you waiting for. try this place! The meals start at $ 5.95!

We ate here for the first time tonight. They have a very extensive menu with many different kinds of food. I had the Greek gyros and my husband had the grilled pork chops. Both were excellent! The service was SO attentive! Hostess, server and owner were great! Will go back often!

I was working in Griffin on the set of The Walking Dead and visited this place many times. Sometimes three times a week. The best thing about the Corner Café is you can try something new every time you go. The food is pretty good but the dessert is AMAZING!!! Sometimes I just went to get their dessert. The wait staff is always on top of it and the food always is delicious! Give it a try! :)

I was back in Griffin tonight coming from the Georgia national fair. The food was great and the service was wonderful. I still highly recommend this very much wonderful place will be back.

Good lunch, food is tasty, everybody is nice. Parking can be a problem. Also the seating is tight

Very good food… Fettuccine was superb. Phillip was our server and he was very attentive, honest and friendly. Can’t wait to go back. Great family atmosphere.

One of my favorite places in town! The wait staff is one of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. It appears to be a family owned restaurant, but they hire outside of the family for jobs that usually don’t involve cooking the food.
The food is always delicious, though the menu is a bit random. You can find everything from a gyro to spaghetti to shrimp Alfredo to a buffalo chicken wrap. They even have Mexican chips and cheese, as well as breakfast.
The décor is just as random as the menu choices. What appears to be a Italian restaurant is themed with old country cooking signage (like the kind you’d find in your grandmas house) and with pictures of Paris or Chicago and other cities with historical and well known food that Corner Café doesn’t serve. There are no Chicago dogs or baguettes, so the décor is a little confusing.
The cake is THE BEST CAKE IVE EVER HAD. If you’re not going to do anything with the restaurant, at the very least, you have to go in and get a slice of cake to go. You will be blown away. The largest slice of cake imaginable, with usually around 10 choices of decadent options — you will have a very hard time choosing.

Everything I have tried here has been awesome. The only Caesar salad I’ll eat (so far). I totally think everyone needs to try this place. :)

Great food, great service! A true gem of a spot in little Griffin GA! Who knew??! Go Greek for sure. Top off your dinner with a to-​go slice of divine cake!

Yo MUST try the grilled pork chop! It is amazing! Dessert counter is more than impressive. Service is great. Prices are low, and portions are HUGE! Husband had the ribeye, very good. Garlic mashed potatoes are delicious with not too much garlic. Southwest egg rolls are also delicious.

Ok, I’ll tell you why. We walked in at 6ish. The place was full and everybody looked happy and full. I saw some friends, went over to say hi and ask about the food. Oh, have you never been here, he says. I said, why no I haven’t. He gave me the run down.
Needless to say, we ordered ribs, chicken parmesan and the seafood stuffed whatever. OMG. Everything was great. I won’t bore you with the particulars but this is a definite MUST TRY when in Griffin. Great for a date, Special occasion our just plain need to eat. The menu has something for everybody. No kidding. This was a great find for me. Now I know why so many people love this place. I highly recommend it.

We just ate here for lunch and were very impressed! We were a little worried at first because the place was packed — we got the last open table — but the service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, although it was a little loud.
I had the corned beef reuben and my husband had the chicken parmesan sandwich. We definitely got our money’s worth on the portion sizes and they were both delicious. We’ll definitely be going back.

We got cheese dip, the grilled tilapia with side salad and ranch, a cheese burger with fries, and veggie fried rice. All were very good! Hot crispy tortilla chips, fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the ranch was so good I ate the fries with it, hamburger was juicy and cooked just right, and the rice had an array of veggies and the sauce was spot on! They also had GLUTEN FREE death by chocolate cake both that and the cheese cake put me in heaven! We will be back!
