Burger Daddy

I don’t think I would even give it 1 star… burgers not good. Wait staff was ok. Owner was rude and didn’t care if we were happy or not. Will NEVER go back!!!

Was excited to try a local business, but will not go back! Cannot rate the food, as we left without even ordering. After 20 minutes of waiting to be waited on, we left in disgust. The Chinese food next door however, was fresh and delicious.

Remember the episode of Seinfeld and the soup Nazi? Well the owner is that guy. I asked if they could make the burger a little less then well done (which is the only way they serve their burgers), who likes a dry burger? Not even a «sorry or how about trying our. you fill in the blank» Just… nope no burger for you!
Since we were there we decided to order rather then leave. Bad choice. I thought well since this is a burger joint the tenderloin will be real pork I’ll get that. Wrong… processed pork reformed into the sub-​par tenderloin with mayonnaise, (dude this is Iowa no mayo on the tenderloin.) You wouldn’t even be served this excuse of a tenderloin at the State Fair. When my beer was brought to me the owner barley got closed to the table and stretched to set it down. My daughter ordered the chicken strips which were more breading then chicken. Both were definitely from a truck and not made there, very disappointing.
The only shinning moment of our visit was the waiter. So if your into horrible food, rude behavior by the proprietor, and great wait staff this is your place, as for myself another fail for Grimes. Fat Boys… gone, El Tortio…- gone, Burger Daddy– soon to be gone.

We are here for the first time tonight. Great service and food! We will definitely be back.

Fast service, great food, and their lunch basket price is perfect! I’ll be coming here again soon!

Checked out Burger Daddy in Grimes tonight. I’d never even heard of it… We were hungry and it was either that… or the Asian Cuisine place that’s next door to a Veterinary Clinic. I’m sure its just a location thing, but… ;) I had the chili cheddar burger ($ 1 up to onion rings) and the gf had the deluxe bacon cheese burger and fries. Good food and good service. I love thick onion rings and these were some of the best I’d had in awhile. She had the home cut fries with her burger and they were hot and crispy. The fries didn’t look like much… but they tasted good. The burgers were fair sized… half lb maybe? The one thing I didn’t really care for…“All burgers are thoroughly cooked…” I’m just not a well done fan… That being said it was $ 23ish for our two entrees before tip. Most apps on the menu were from $ 5.99 — $ 8.99 and the sandwiches with fries are from about $ 7.99 — $ 9.99. I’ll definitely be stopping back to check out some of the other menu items. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked good. A pleasant surprise.

The place was very clean… but food was definitely not on par with other Des Moines burger joints.
The Food was «meh». The «daddios» onion rings were a star of the evening. Avoid the fries unless you are into the soggy hand cut variety.
Very attentive service, although to a fault. We couldn’t carry on a conversation because we were constantly interrupted and questioned about how things were.

Terrible service. Bun was greasy, fries were soggy and the burger lacked flavor! Absolutely disgusting! The server knew we were not satisfied and all he had to say was «Sorry» Wow… Really? I wouldn’t even give it one star but cannot continue this post without a rating

Great local burger joint. Burgers are great and draws and bottles are only $ 2 each! Get em while their cold!

This is a counter top burger joint with a very limited menu. We split the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and were able to split it. Hand cut fries and the burger was delicious. Special on Facebook was burger basket with a drink for $ 7.99. Looked like they have a beer menu. It was a good experience but would love to see the menu expanded and table side wait staff.
