this bar used to be a dive, now it is a clean, friendly, bar with great people. $ 1.50 coors lights in a frosty mug, fusball, pool, and a pinball machine. The owner has upgraded the bar with more TV’s for games and has really done some nice work as far as upgrades, including a super nice new floor.

So i had been into O’flaherty’s many times before, and the only appeal had always been the bar tab at the end of the night. This time we were only there for hour and half(two of us drinking slowly). I assumed at end of night that the shots ordered for a round of friends had also been added to my tab and although it still seemed pricey i just paid. However, my friend when i mentioned it next day said that they had paid cash for all of them. She also said that more recently these types of things had been happening and had thus deterred them from going. I certainly will not be!

I love the atmosphere of this place! Watched a lions game with my girlfriend and some friends. Everyone there was into the game but not in an over-the-top way. Just a bunch of people enjoying the local team together. It was great to be able to order pizza from down the street, sure hope they get food in there soon. The owner was working the bar by himself and I thought it was going to be a nightmare getting a drink but he was very friendly and efficient, didn’t feel like I had to wait at all. My girlfriend loved the decorations. Overall, I wish it was closer to my house because it would be my regular place.

Great place to hang out and spark up a conversation. New owner is really nice and is cleaning the place up. Great Happy Hour prices, and $ 1 coors lights on tap all day everyday. Bartenders are extremely friendly. Now serving more craft beers

New owner… Okay, still your typical local bar except it’s clean, warm, and inviting… The new owner has made substantial improvements that have made a world of difference. Seems like the place is always decorated with closest holiday theme. And really, the owner is a good guy. I would recommend going in during Happy Hour for a few drinks before you have dinner at one of the many local restaurants. Prices at Happy Hour are quite good.

Excellent local bar that recently was taken over by new management. Very clean, great prices($ 2 domestic bottles during their lengthy happy hour), fine selection of rarely found bourbons(Blanton’s!) and good TV set ups for watching sports. No food, strictly a drinking bar at the point. The new owner is very friendly and there is always great conversation among the regulars … Just don’t bother us during Golden Tee. And they have pinball, which is pretty much the capper. Star Trek version, to boot!

Since getting rid of the old bartender(Dan), and doing the remodel, this place has really gone down hill. I used to go here with my gf for drinks, pool, darts, a game and a good time. They always had a decent fun crowd, and I always had a great time, even if it was just a couple of fun regulars, her and I. The crowd has gone to hell, no one really hangs out here anymore, and it’s flat out boring. They look at you weird if you start making noise and playing a bar game, and it’s not very welcoming. I wanted to go here last Sat. but I walked in and walked right back out. I went down to Excalibur and had a great time. It was packed full of the people that used to hang out here.

The staff in this bar has always been good the handful of times I’ve been in here. No food, but they let you bring in food of your own… kind of different. Heck, the bartender even pulled out a bunch of local restaurant takeout menus for the group that was in there the last time. I am not certain but I think she even ordered it for them! Good house shot that they call«Orange Whip». Basically a neighborhood place, I wouldn’t plan on a lot of people striking up a convo with you unless you’re alone, maybe? The patrons seems kind of cliquey so I guess if you didn’t go to a Grosse Pointe high school or grow up in the area, you might not meet anyone new to talk to unless you can break in to the thick huddle somehow. Not generally my scene but the service is good and there are beer specials.

I have friends who really enjoy this place, but I just don’t see the appeal. It’s all the same people from high school, and the smoke in unbearable!
