I have been going here since 1981 as a kid. I now live in Florida and when on vacation up in the area I stop in here at least 3 times during my 10 day trip. They have the best pizza anywhere in ct. Better than the famous Sally’s appiza in new haven. You can eat a small yourself even if you are a healthy eater. It is that good. It’s been open since the early 70s for a reason. I also ordered a salami grinder and a meatball. You can’t beat the price and taste. The pepperoni pizza is to die for. I ordered an additional small my last day there this week just to bring with me in the rental car to heat it up in my hotel on way back driving. It is much better than mystic pizza and my friend owns mystic pizza. Midway is much better than mystic pizza and no line. Chain pizza restaurants= gross. Family owned in Connecticut is the way to go. The owner is always there and very friendly with everyone. I told him I had been going there for 35 years and was up from Florida and stopped in just to order his food. I even have them in my phone contacts and call in when I’m in the area after driving 12 hours. Go try it and tell the owner the dude from Florida that was in this past week(Wednesday) recommended them. He will remember me and probably smile. Yum. Peace all. :). Will be back in 4 weeks!

Under«new ownership». They were having a lot of problems and confusion. I’m pretty sure one of the women was«under the influence» of alcohol as she couldn’t get a basic salad request correct & I smelled booze on her. They all seemed to not know how to make proper change. The customers at the register kept rolling their eyes at the antics. I hope they get it together before too long. For a place with a such a long history, it would be a shame to see it go down the toilet. I’ll give them one more try next time I’m in town and see how they do. My regular grinder was fine though.
