Very good local beer. My favorite part is that they allow you to bring food in from the outside and buy their beer.
I have been here many times and I am a mug club member. The beers they make have been very good. Staff is awesome and very friendly. Tap room is very nice but can be overly crowed some times during peak times. Over all I can’t say enough good things about this place and there beers. I here there soon gonna start bottling there 3 main beers which will be awesome. Only suggestion I have is maybe a little better organization for growler fills. Maybe a spy for growler fills and a spot for pint fills or a system like beer’D I’m stonington he were they can text you when growler is ready.

Bring your own food is a cool idea but I’d love to see something made in house to give a better reason to hang around longer and honestly I’ve yet to have a beer that was better than your average town’s micro brew. The tap room is a converted mechanics garage which might be funky and unique if it were to be used a theme or something but as it stands now it is kind of cold and blandly decorated.

Rarely do I try a flight of every beer on tap and love every one. I don’t particularly like Wits, red ales, or stouts. But I loved all of these! They are new, but the brewmasters here know what they’re doing and have been doing it for a long time. They aren’t afraid to experiment or reinvent themselves with each season; atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Staff is awesome!!! I love love love this brewery and wish I lived closer! Also: they are 2 minutes off I-95, so if you’re driving by, take a detour! That’s what I did and I certainly don’t regret it!

The stars are all about the beer, so 4 it is – very strong selection of craft brewed beers. The Subduction IPA, with a tip of the bottle to the nearby Naval Sub Base, was da-bomb — great flavor with an outstanding hop kick. The taproom itself was pleasant, if small — quite crowded on a Thursday evening. As others have noted, if you’re hungry, bring some food with you — outside of some chips, it’s all beer !

Wonderful staff and atmosphere and even better beer. If you are in the area it’s worth a visit. I look forward to buying OLBC beers in stores in the near future!

Just found out this place opened the beginning of April. We stopped by on a whim. Excellent choice. Enjoyed some flights and unexpectedly ended up getting some growlers to go. Had a chance to meet the owners, too. Delicious beers and great people. Have been back a few times now and have not been disappointed, enjoying new beers as they have been released. Drink up!

Great atmosphere, lovely & knowledgeable staff, but most importantly, fantastic craft beer! The tap room at the brewery has a lovely, relaxed vibe that is welcome to families, friends, and/or couples. They have the doors open wide now, so there’s a great outdoor summer feel. And, they also have board games, which is one of my favorite things! I tried a flight with the Lonesome Boatman, Libation IPA, and the Coffee Stout. The IPA was my favorite, but the others are not to miss. I think the coffee stout even won an award, so if you’re into that kind of beer, you should definitely check that out. I came here while on a visit home to CT after hearing that it opened from a few friends… hopefully they’ll start bottling and shipping internationally soon, so I can enjoy while in Dublin!

This brewery is awesome! Flights, pints, growlers are all available in tap room. Their coffee stout is seriously one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted. They have lots of limited release beers in their Shoreline Series as well. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and you can always find their owners around too. Really great beachy/surfy vibe going on in the tasting rooms. They have a limited selection of snacks for purchase, or you can even order takeout right to the restaurant. Really worth the visit!

Ventured across the river to Groton in search of some craft brews straight from the source. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Outer Light was not only open, but shortly celebrating their official grand opening, and put it on my calendar to make an appearance to see what CT does with breweries. At first blush, you could easily miss this brewery, situated in s business park industrial complex just south of the freeway. Its tasting room is conveniently next door to where all the brew magic happens, so it’s easy to get a tour of the facility and learn about what goes on behind the scenes to make what’s in your frosty mug. The party was well attended, with an outdoor tent for some select tastings, tall tables, food, and live music. Inside were the rest of the offerings, and the wondrously gleaming brew tanks. Tastings were $ 5 for a giant glass of liquid sunshine, or you could purchase a growler if you really fell in love with something and didn’t want to make the drive back. In the outdoor tent, they were tasting the Hefeweizen Outerweiss– traditional and European tasting, a Saison-spicy and aromatic, and the Academy German Pale Ale-a trusty and straightforward solid contender. Indoors, we sampled the SUB-duction IPA– my husband’s favorite in a Submarine dispenser, the Imperial Pilsner– a 9.+ ABV heavy hitter with crisp notes and dangerously drinkable, and the Jonathan Edwards oaked Chardonnay, which despite being at a brewery event, was my favorite thing we sampled. Staff were attentive, frazzled and mostly knowledgeable about the product, with a few exceptions that I chalked up to grand opening staffing nerves. I was pleased with the variety they make including stouts, ambers, lagers, and include wines for a change of pace from another CT crafter. They also offer brewer dinners with paired foods for each drink, and community events where they join forces with other local brewers and winemakers. I’m absolutely excited to have a brewery so close, and looking forward to see what they do next.

Go here! An amazing, local brewery. The IPA sells out because it is just that delicious. You can bring your growlers and they will fill ‘em up for you. The tap room has poor acoustics, it gets loud when it’s busy, but you are there to drink beer. This place has plenty of seats, so get comfy and drink up.

Pints, tasters/flights & growlers in the tap room! Limited releases & seasonal brews. Red ale, IPA, Indian pale ale & coffee inspired stout. Libation propaganda stout is my fave But the lavender Saison is perfect for warmer weather. An outdoor theme for the ocean farer or the land lubber ;) Tap room rental. Local food trucks.
