Like previous reviewers stated this gym is pretty well organized and clean. This gym is awesome for someone who knows what to do and where to go. Basically a no nonsense gym but what it lacked made me tilt my head a little. It has great machines for cardio and a great spacious area for abs and stretching but I really wanted to do deadlifts and there were no bars just laying around to do that. The gym has great amenities so I decided to get a membership for my mother since this is the best in the midcounty area. But for me I’ll stick with la fitness or 24 since the variety of weights appeal to me more. I can definitely do cardio outdoors rather than indoors. Just throwing this tip out to new gym goers… No one is looking at you so don’t be shy. It’s a general place where people get fit, everyone is different and that makes it great! No one is perfect so be active and don’t be shy! This gym is a great place to start if you’re up for signing a contract :)

At first glance, Planet Fitness is awesome. It has a great location, great parking, great prices and essentially great everything, but after a couple weeks it really hit me. The gym itself in most areas is excellent. The layout is very organized and everything is easily accessible without getting in someone’s way. The cardio department is insane, treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and arc trainers galore. All new, and all cleaned after every use. In addition to the optional head phone jack for the 10 TVs throughout the gym, the equipment is top notch. Moving on from cardio, the locker rooms are very clean and very nice and they do have private showers if you need them. The locker room is also laid out well giving plenty of space and privacy even when its busy. Also there are TVs in here too, one can even be seen from the first stall if you lean forward or just leave the door open, pretty awesome. They also offer tanning along with other services that really wrap up a $ 20 membership and make it excellent value for money. Though this is where the pros end. My biggest concern with the whole gym, as others have noted is the uptight no nonsense vibe you get when you walk in. This is all directed at mostly body builders but to some guys that are big in general. Now, I’m not a powerlifter so it doesn’t effect me, but I am also not so insecure that I can’t work out in the same building as someone pressing 350lbs. However I understand the appeal to some, and by that I mean women. This is definitely a woman’s gym, no doubt about it. If you look at it that way its an excellent gym, but for anything more it is sub par. I go strictly for cardio but occasionally I will get the impulse to do a few dead lifts just to see what I can do. Though it would be difficult because there isn’t a bar in the entire building that isn’t welded or cabled or tied or cemented to some space machine. For me it isn’t a deal breaker but for some it may be. Other than that I still think its a great gym, I just think it could let loose a little and bring a lot more customers. And yes I still feel its more of a woman’s gym but it can be perfectly suited for men as well, just don’t look to do any serious lifting here, because they will kick you out…

I didn’t review this place immediately because I needed a little time to really take in how I felt about it… I want to give two stars, but I feel I’m being a bit biased… I’ll explain more later… okay first off this gym has all of the potential in the world to be an awesome place for a workout… the size is good, the locker rooms are incredible, the price is great and they have a lot of different ways to exercise. An example of that is one station they have here is exclusively for abs. There is a few different machines and a red and green light up on the wall. When the green light turns red you move on to a different machine… I liked this a lot… I didn’t use it but I liked it… tons of cardio equipment and lots of strength machines… not a lot of free weights, though… ad the weights they did have(dumbells, fixed barbells) didn’t exceed 60lbs… this is where I began to have a problem and shortly after that saw why there were few free weights… Planet Fitness is trying to present themselves as the politically correct gym… they promote the idea that everyone is welcome here and you don’t have to worry about«gymtimidation»(their word, not mine)…in doing so you make a lot weight lifters feel unwelcome here… other gyms that I know of don’t encourage this philosophy, but they also don’t condemn the other either… I know what they’re trying to do here, but I feel they’re shooting themselves in the foot in some ways… once I found out what this company was about I was done with them… it’s a shame too because this gym could be great… if you read all of this thank you!
