A very nice and helpful book store. My partner likes to read the NY Times and Susan has been very nice about making sure to save us a copy(if you would like one, please let her know because for right now she has to make the decision about ordering 2 or 10). She was also very helpful in explaining about the book group she runs which sounded much more democratic than the one run by the County. Highly recommend a drop in visit…

Not only is River Reader the closest bookstore to my home and office, it’s my favorite bookstore around! Susan does a fantastic job of ordering and highlighting books that appear to the very eclectic community of the Lower Russian River. Cookbooks to Sci Fi and Nature Guides to Calendars and Greeting Cards, the selection never ceases to amaze me. River Reader is not a big store, and there are not 5 copies of every item, but items are displayed artfully and in a way that has me asking about the story behind the book. Local authors and artists are featured prominently as well as reference materials relevant to our geography, natural history, wildlife and agricultural bounty. Thank you for always having something new to read! Ordering specific books is quick, easy and more fun than Amazon. And I love trading used books back for credit on other used books! More upbeat than a library(no disrespect to libraries, but they have the whole«Shhhh!» thing going) and great supporters of the community, River Reader is my favorite shop for books!

My local book store. They can get anything you want, quickly. I prefer to support my local booksellers even if it means paying a little more.

Cute, small, family-run bookstore. I found some unique cards in this store and it looks as though the book selection is hand-picked(although that could be a plus or minus depending on who you are).

I discovered this place to be a good place to visit as a «road stop» when driving on CA116 heading towards Highway 1 for coastal activities.

Hardly any used books :-( Decent amount of new selections :-/ Ample sized travel section. :-\ Cool little section on old camera prints :-) I found some interesting titles in the Gay/Lesbian section :-) A quaint little children’s area. :-\ Vinyl section included Olivia Newton John :-) A nice place to kill some time before Russian River activities.

Hey Barney… Hey Aunt Bee… Hey Floyd… Hey Goober… Hey Otis… …Opie, get your hand out of Miss Crumb’s candy jar before I give you a whuppin’ with my razor strap !! If you want to recreate your own episode of «The Andy Griffith Show», you should come up to Guerneville where you too can stroll folksy Main Street where you’re spitting distance from the Russian River. It does get hectic during the annual jazz festival and of course, when the lazy bears congregate. Otherwise, you’ll find it a peaceful hamlet in a bucolic setting. In the middle of town is this quaint bookstore which you’ll happen upon like I did. They have lots of books of local interest in Sonoma County, as well as the standard selection of best sellers and some pretty eclectic CDs, too. On Saturday around lunchtime, we noticed an enthusiastic book club gathered in the back room. It’s definitely worth a stop on the way to the general store or the rocky beach where you could set a spell with a book. Well, I gotta go now ’cause me and Goober are goin’ down to see that Cary Grant movie. Goober never misses a Cary Grant movie. He studies him. You want to hear him take off on Cary Grant? C’mon, Goober… do Cary Grant…“Judy, Judy, Judy”.
