We ordered a pizza and it was burned to a crisp. The sauce and cheese tasted good but the crust was hard and difficult to eat. We called them to let them know and they were pretty defensive. Customer service could be better. Will not be ordering again.

The best pizza place in the area. Excellent customer service and authentic Italian cuisine, the owners are actually Italian. impossible to believe in 2015 but true just the same.

Really great thin crust pizza! It is definitely on our regular rotation. The wings and salads are also excellent. Service is friendly and reliable.

Where do I start? Friendly staff, convenient location, good prices, on my way home and 4 minutes from my house. I had a chicken pesto slice and it was wonderful! Crust was perfect and the spices and flavor combos used were well chosen. Even the chicken was nice cuts of meat. I’m telling my friends and co-workers about Marisa’s and I’ll be back there to try more of their delicious food.

Marrissa’s is fantastic! Only let down, and it’s a big one, is the bread. Not crusty, dry and tasteless.

I’ve been a customer of this pizza place for 5 years. I can say their pies are great. We usually eat marisa’s deluxe. Cheese is also good. Their pasta is also great, penne alla vodka. anti pasto also good. It’s way better than olive garden. As expensive, but nearly more than two people can eat it. I’ve been around a lot, and this place is top of my list. Having said that, it’s small business, and most likely family business. The owner sometimes talks funny, and you can get into trouble from time to time. I saw few times they have trouble with customers, mostly with credit card transaction. Sometimes it doesn’t work at all. Personally, I had also a small incident. They takes vacation in July, so it’s closed. I thought they closed for good, but later, found that it is open again, so I came in for ordering takeout and asked were you on vacation? And he said, in a pretty loud voice, why? don’t we deserve any vacation? in a confrontational manner. I deal with people a lot, so I calmly said that, I was just wondering, since I missed your pizza. Came by a few times. Then the guy next to me also said same thing. The whole thing could have been avoided if they put a notice on voice mail, or even their webpage. So he’s from time to time confrontational. So it’s good idea to leave cashier job to others(think they are all family). Normally in this situation, I would go to other places, but their pizza is best around here. So I try to avoid any talking there and get my take out and leave quietly.

Soo… After hiking at thatcher park the BF and I were starving and I came across this place on Unilocal claiming it has the best pizza so I said eh let’s give it a try. It’s your typical family owned pizza shop. It’s a little small, has 2 tables in the front of the shop and 4 – 5 more in the back but it was dead around 2pm on a Saturday. There’s a picnic table outside as well. I was a little disappointed because they didn’t have many slices available at lunch time. I wanted broccoli and my BF wanted buffalo chicken wing so the guy just added the toppings on cheese slices for us which was cool. The pizza was very good, but it’s def not the best pizza I’ve had in the region according to all of these Unilocal reviews. Their sauce is really good which is an added plus! They charged $ 85 cents for some ranch dressing which is ridiculous. The owner was very nice and welcoming. Overall I give this place 3 stars.

This place has some of the best pizza around. I come here on my lunch break, tasty thin and crisp crust as well as just enough sauce. The slices and whole pies are equally great.

We ordered the Thursday dinner special Eggplant Parm, Penne, Salad, Rolls. The portions were perfect, the food was delicious, the price was great. One of our friends has an Italian Restaurant in his family and pointed out to us how well and how much care went into the meal. «Even this salad dressing was prepared in the restaurant using a special blender.» It is so rare to have a conversation about a Eggplant Parm but, we bet you will too.

Of the many New York City style pizza places in the Albany area, this place is, by far, the best.

Very friendly — pizza is unique and tasty — loved it. Went after hearing rave reviews from neighbors and coworkers. A must!

I’m from NJ so I grew up on real pizza. Yes I said it. Living near NYC, visiting the metro area often, FLAT and thin slices are everything to my taste buds. When I moved to Buffalo I was sad to see that almost everywhere I ate it was really thick bread and curled up pepperoni. It grew on me a little but never forget where you came from cause NYC styled pizza will always be the shit. SORRY, had to set the tone there. whenever I find a place that makes this style pizza I have hope in mankind. If you’re ever in the Albany area(we were in Guilderland) this is a place to stop at. Great pizza, quick deliver to the table. Small place but has about 5+ tables. 2 in the front, 3 in the backish past the food line. Great people working too. We chatted for a bit about music and whatnot. Gotta love Italian people. Anyways, pretty straight forward. If you’re an Upstate NY-er and love NYC styled, Italian pizza give this place a shot.

Technically, this is Guilderland, but it’s still in Albany county. So if you want to call it the best pizza in Albany, I’m with you. It is. Maybe it’s not the best pizza in the region. It really depends on the day, and on the pie. This is what happens when a product is made by hand, it’s a variable product. And I’m okay with that. Most recently, I came in for a slice. I perused the pies and found one that looked appealing. As they were putting it in the oven to warm it up and make that bottom crust super crisp, I asked what was on the thing anyway. They had a good laugh at that. The thing is that when you trust a pizza shop, you don’t really need to know what’s on it to know that it will be good. This slice was from a white pie. It had ricotta on the bottom, and was topped with eggplant, roasted red peppers, kalamata olives, fresh mushrooms, sauteed onions, mozzarella, torn basil and a bit of balsamic. Man, it was delicious. Sweet, savory, juicy, salty, cheesy, earthy, rich, sharp, acidic, crunchy, and creamy. It had everything going on. Of course, I paid for the pleasure. That one slice set me back a bit over $ 4, but it was a meal in a slice. It’s very clear that this shop takes pride in what they do. So do them the favor of eating the pizza at the shop. Sure, there are only a few small tables, but good pizza should be spared the death sentence of those dreaded cardboard boxes.

Get the rusticana pizza… so good! The toppings are amazing and taste fresh(portobello mushrooms, asparagus, red peppers, prosciutto, fresh mozz, basil/garlic). In general I love this pizza place. They have a great thin NY crust with a nice amount of chewiness. The sauce tastes great — on the sweet side — and is not over applied. They can get pretty busy, so service is not always the fastest. There is also limited seating in the restaurant, and they don’t deliver. However, I think the quality of the pizza makes up for all of these limitations. Highly recommended!

I had their pizza any time and it’s always ok… That’s how I would describe their pizza… It’s ok… Got a pepperoni and the buffalo pizza… The pepperoni was alright and the buffalo was gross… Huge chunks of chicken and the dough and sauce was sloppy… Now I know reviews are subject to the individual… Try it for yourself and you be the judge…

I heard great things about this place so tried it on Saturday. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and nice, unlike other reviewers said, but the pizza and garlic knots were underwhelming. The sauce was too thin and sweet and the crust was kind of cardboard-y. The garlic knots tasted like they’d been sitting around too long. While the experience of going there was pleasant, the food wasn’t worth it. Sorry, Marisa’s.

I wanted to take my wife out to a good pizza place, and Marisa’s stood out from previous Unilocal reviews as being one of «the best pizza places in upstate NY.» When we arrived, close to an hour before they close, the older man behind the counter would not allow us to eat there, saying(with an obvious attitude) that they had already cleaned up. Doesn’t matter how good the food is if the service and attitude stink!

Their pizza is so good, but they never have any slice choices! It’s always just a lot of regular pies. Where are things like chicken rolls, pepperoni pinwheels, buffalo slices, calzones?! They’ve got so much potential but the lack of variety gets boring.

Best garlic knots I’ve had in the capital region. Since I grew up on Long Island, right outside the city I find it challenging to find a pizzeria upstate that competed with the downstate quality. Marisa’s does. It’s thin crust, foldable pizza. Yummy, hot, oven fresh. It’s rare for me to compliment any pizza joint. I will definitely be back again.

Poor business practice, imposing a $ 10 minimum on a credit card. If you’re open for lunch you should expect transactions less than $ 10 and credit card fees are a cost of doing business. I was told they could not run my card for less than $ 10 which is BS because you clearly can. Been going here for a year now it’s over.
