Friendly and welcoming staff, which seems like a rarity at small gun ranges and shops, especially for young shooters. The two older gentlemen working the counter were very nice and accommodating. I showed them my Basic Pistol certification and filled out the shooter and rental agreement, which was great as many ranges refuse rentals unless the same certification course was taken specifically at their range. I rented a 9mm AR pattern rifle, which was a blast! The staff even helped me in getting familiar with loading the magazine. Over all a great experience and the friendly environment really made a difference. A bit pricey, but rentals and non-membership range time at all ranges are. Even so, I was happy to give Chris’ Indoor Shooting Range my business.

What can I say about Chris’ Indoor Range? For starters, it offers everything you could want from an indoor shooting range. Everyone from a first time beginner to the seasoned pro would find this range welcoming. I have been visiting Chris’ for a long time and can say this with honesty. The staff are friendly and are willing to help. If you need some pointers on how to shoot better or have a malfunction that seemingly cannot be solved you can turn to them for assistance. Chris’ also has a decent selection of ammo available at reasonable prices for those shooting on the range, especially for .22LR which can be difficult to find these days. They also have events every Thursday night of various types and calibers. Some people might take issue with the recently instated policy of the range, that is, you must posses a CT Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers or have attended a safety class to shoot on the line. I personally take no issue with this policy as it creates a much safer environment for everyone in attendance, and safety is always the number one concern when handling/operating firearms. Every CT citizen who is interested in shooting, either as a hobby, a sport or as a means of serious personal protection, should seek to obtain their CT permit and Chris’ offers the NRA approved safety class which is your first step to obtaining your permit. I have met a lot of new friends at Chris’, many of whom I can call by first name. It is a very social atmosphere which firearms aficionados and those new to world of firearms can find themselves comfortable in. Many years, multiple training classes attended under industry professionals. Unquantifiable amount of rounds expended. Chris’ still remains my local range I come to for weekly practice.

Went for the pistol permit class. Chris is friendly, knowledgeable and SUPER thorough. He’s got 40 years of knowledge under his belt so he really knows his stuff! Also provided a coupon for money off a membership which was a bonus. I definitely plan on returning once I get my permit, probably not just to use the range but to purchase my pistol as well. Give them a visit!

Horrible experience. Drove over 40 minutes to get there and bring my wife shooting. Mainly for her to get more used to .45 caliber shooting, which she has shot numerous times before. The guy behind the counter was very rude with his answers and condescending. Told me that neither of us were allowed to shoot anything over a .22 because I don’t have my permit even though my wife had hers. When I explained I wanted her to get a better feel for pretty much anything over a .22, his response was, «I’m not asking, I’m telling!» I should of walked out right then and there, but I came to shoot. After spending $ 75 for the two of us to shoot 2 boxes of .22 ammo we left. I regretted giving them my business immediately! If this review prevents one person from going here, I’ll be happy. Too bad people have to be so rude. My permit should be coming in any day now, and this place could have been our regular shooting range.

Great place to shoot. Relaxed atmosphere. I bring my wife and she has a blast too. Very welcoming, staff is knowledgeable without being intimadating. Great place to spend an evening or weekend.

Actual name is «Chris’ Indoor Shooting Range» 2458 Boston Post Road, Guilford CT6437 Phone: 203.453.1570 Fax: 203.458.1402 Email: This range features 11 shooting lanes for pistols and rifles with an automated retrieval system. I liked the facility and the staff so much after my first visit that I immediately purchased a one-year membership. If you plan on going with any degree of frequency, the membership option is really the only choice. The standard rate of $ 25 per hour for non-members is quite pricey. But especially with the various discounts offered, a membership gives you much more value for your dollar. Plus, memberships include free use for your spouse and/or child under the age of 18. You really can’t argue with that. They also have regularly scheduled special events like combat shoots and .22 nights. The web site has all the other info you’re looking for. Check it out.
