This library is nice. Really nice. It’s big and there are lots of clubs/programs for those who come here. I’m writing this review because there is one problem with the library: The wifi. It’s atrocious. The worst wifi I’ve ever used anywhere. It’s not the speed that’s the issue. The problem with the wifi is it drops every couple of minutes. Doing something that requires a constant connection? It’s impossible to do here. The library does have computers that are directly serviced through ethernet cables, so if you use those, it’s not an issue. If you came here with your laptop to get any kind of work done, then sorry, it’s not feasible with their wifi. This becomes exceedingly frustrating because GL isn’t interested in fixing this issue. I’ve experienced this issue for a while and nothing’s changed. I’m giving the library 4 stars because aside from their horrible wifi, the library is great. Just don’t come with your laptop expecting to casually browse the web.

Impressive. The Children’s section is a lot bigger and nicer than the one in Greenwich Library. This along with countless other wonderful aspects of Guilford sold us on moving to this town.

By far the best library in the area for finding quiet, relaxed desk area to do work either alone in a cubby or as a group at a table. Friendly staff, clean areas and convenient location right in the center of Guilford! My favorite spot to get work done on the shoreline!

I really like working in public libraries when doing research or writing, and the Guilford Library is the nicest public library I’ve seen. Light, airy, lots of small rooms for working groups, and a quiet research section that is nicely separated from the children’s section so that the kids can run around and have fun without intruding on quiet work upstairs. The staff are friendly and clearly know their library well. I finished my dissertation here, and I’m grateful to have had such an inspiring setting in which to work.

Hooray for the Guilford Library. The children’s area, in particular, in outstanding — lots and lots of books for all age groups, a big play area where the kids can blow off some steam, and they do a lot of free group activities/events(again, with something for all age groups). This is a really well-done public library. The only drawback is the hours. They need to be open longer hours, and on more of the fake holidays.
