This is a favorite of the local crowd. It seems the servers know nearly every customer that comes in by name. The reason for the familiarity is the food. Good quality food, a menu with a nice variety, and servers who remember your name. All of this adds up to a great option in the area. I’m partial to the filet mignon which is always perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is New England colonial and they have a popular/active bar as well.

Great place for a snowy night(even when it’s not snowing). Captain Pete’s Raw Bar Special is a great value and assortment of 4 oysters, 4 clams, and 4 shrimp.

Great burgers and wings. Very nice waitress. The interior of the restaurant is in desperate need of updating. Dark and old.

A great place for a steak or a burger and a beer Good times with good friends. Nickel burgers are the best on the shoreline. The hot wings are the bomb. Try the grilled chicken cesar salad. Prices are very reasonable.

Had dinner last night with my husband and we were very happy. The waitress was super friendly and the service was great. With all of the seafood restaurants on the shoreline we were hesitant to order it. My husband had the broiled seafood platter which comes with salad, rolls & vegetables. The price was right and he was very satisfied with what he got. I ordered a lobster roll and was ready to compare it to the many lobster rolls I have had at other places. It was great and just what I would have expected. There was plenty of lobster meat and it came with crispy fries and cole slaw. We often go out to eat on the weekends and will definitely go back.

There are several ways to view a restaurant… special occasion? Upscale? Nourishment only? This one is written from the perspective of PITSTOP! Late Sunday afternoon in June, coming back from a 4 hour ride on a bike, we were heading back, a little dirty from the road and VERY hungry. 6pm we tried to stop at Lenny & Joe’s in Madison which was beyond PACKED(being Father’s Day didn’t help). The Spot was packed too. Meandering our way toward home, we happened to stop at Maritime Grille. Now imagine, I was in a black leather halter vest, my hair wrapped up in silver coil, with a large silver snake pentacle. Not really dressed for fine dining! We made our way to the bar, full of old people… but no one made us feel uncomfortable, and the bartender Sandy was so nice & welcoming! There were Bar Specials posted as was a nice, reasonably priced wine-by-the-glass list as well as beers by draft or bottle. I couldn’t believe they were advertising a single stuffed lobster tail with sides for $ 15. Expecting to be slightly disappointed, I ordered it anyway-OMG it was sooooo good!!! It was a nice size for a girl, not too big but not tiny either. The meat was very tasty, totally out of its shell but poised atop its shell for decoration… then topped with a true New England cracker crumb stuffing that was tasty too! It arrived with your choice of starch, I went with a good old fashioned baked potato & sour cream, and perfectly seasoned carrots, peas and stringbeans. Did I say it was $ 15 !!! My other half had French Onion soup served in an old fashioned soup bowl, and crabcake appetizer which he said were good. The bill was $ 43, which with a glass of wine and a beer, for seafood in a comfortable but old dive looking bar with an awesome bartender/server, I did not think was bad at all! Would I come here for a full dinner in another circumstance? Probably not, only because there are so many other great and prettier restaurants, and this one’s décor is dark and old, but for a pit stop/casual bite at the bar on a Sunday when Sandy’s there?-absolutely!
