Tucked away in the back part of the shopping center;however, the hunt was well worth it. A great pizza joint ambiance with plenty of room to spread your wings. The waitress was a jewel. Her attitude made our night even more enjoyable. The garlic cheesy knots hit the spot and then the New York style pizza dough was delicious. We will definitely stop by here again next. Thanks Papa’s!

So good and lots of choices on the buffet. It’s our second time here and we will be back for sure. They are very friendly here also, and the place is clean.

Pizza was undercooked and the wait staff was not very attentive. Salad bar was pretty basic.

Disappointing ordered take out from there twice once The Rocky Marciano and the second time the Al Pacino. Wait time on the first order was 90 minutes but we decided to order because we were told by the Craft Farm’s people they made really good pizza. Got the pizza home less than 5 minutes away and the crust was soft and sticking to the box. Figured maybe we hit them on a bad day. Ordered the Al Pacino the 2nd time long wait time and when we got it home, soft crust and pizza was undercooked. Tastes not bad but quality of the pizza was poor. Their pizza is not cheap I expected a lot better. Some of the local pizza chains have better pizza at a better price.

Awesome pizza and great atmosphere! The slices are huge! Got in and out without a huge wait, which in the middle of spring break was a nice surprise. Get the George Steinbrenner.

Appealing atmosphere, super sweet waitresses, and delicious pizza! How could ask for more than that? We started off with cheesy garlic knots and marinara, like last time. They did not disappoint. For the main dish, we went with the XL(18″) George Steinbrenner which includes chicken, bacon, spinach with an Alfredo sauce. Delightful.

Definitely can tell they changed ownership. The food has gone down hill. Pizza almost seems raw sometimes. The service is also subpar. We’ve had a to go order three different occasions, and every time they messed it up — leaving us to wait.

1 server and 32 guests. How do I know? Well, waiting 40 minutes for a mediocre mozzarella stick appetizer, I had time to count the guests. There were 4 people cooking in the kitchen, and they finally decided to have one man come out and help. The pizzas came out with the appetizer, and I wish I could say it was worth the wait… Ok crust, minimal cheap toppings, and flavorless cheese. When I say minimal we ordered half cheese and half pepperoni and we may have gotten 8 pieces of pepperoni on half of a 14″ pizza. I hate to write negative reviews, but this restaurant screams poor Managment, and it is going to put them out of business if it was not for tourists like myself. I bet locals stay away, and I recommend to stay away.

Wow, this place was so bad, I thought we might be on a hidden camera show or something. No such luck. Came in, not busy and there were dirty tables everywhere, although we did find a place to sit with our family of 6. Many of us went straight to the salad bar but it was mostly empty. There was clearly no one actually working the salad bar. Got minimal salads. When the lady came to bring our waters, we ordered pizza, and I asked if they were going to be refilling the salad bar soon. She was very nice and said they were working on it. But they weren’t. It was nearly comical to watch how this place was run… or not run, actually. Bunch of people back in the kitchen standing around. No one had a clear job. Someone would come out to the dining room, glance around, walk straight by the super dirty salad bar, not wipe it down or refill anything. Then walk by three filthy tables and not clear them. Then walk back into the kitchen EMPTYHANDED! Who manages this place??? This happened over and over and over as we waited 45 minutes for our 2 pizzas. Sad, since the pizza was decent. Need restaurant impossible!

This pizza place is in a big shopping area. My daughter and I were over at Target and my daughter was starving. So, we drove around and she saw this restaurant and decided she wanted pizza. This pizza joint is quite spacious! It has an industrialized look to it, but is made inviting by the pictures & lighting on the walls! I especially liked the«Kissing on VJ Day in New York» picture… a sailor kissing his girlfriend/fiancé/bride(not sure which)!( ) We walked in and were greeted and told we could sit wherever we would like. Then the lady asked us if we wanted to do the lunch buffet. I had no idea there was a lunch buffet! It sounded great, pizza and salad bar. The same lady then asked us which types of pizza we would like and we replied, «Cheese and Supreme». Papa’s Lunch Buffet is served daily from 11AM-2PM and costs $ 7.99. This lady was a really helpful & friendly waitress! She kept clearing our empty plates and asked us if we needed anything. We got our salad, which is unlimited, but we only needed to make one trip. It was pretty much your typical salad bar.( ) Midway through our salad, we were told that the pizzas were ready. We hopped up and found fresh and hot pizzas… cheese and supreme!( ) It really was a nice personal touch to have the exact pizza you prefer waiting there for you! They had 2 other pizzas ready as well. Plus, they had some cheesy breadsticks! Mmmm! The pizzas were very, very, very yummy! I enjoyed the crust, which is the part I normally leave behind. This is New York Style Pizza, which has a thin crust. They have great sauces and fresh toppings and the pizzas were so delicious! They have some pizzas named after celebrities, like Rocky Marciano, Sophia Loren, Al Pacino, & Frank Sinatra. If you want more than pizza or more with your pizza, they serve pastas, calzones, strombolis, and subs. You can also get wings, salads, & mozzarella sticks. And, if you aren’t yet full, they even have desserts! They offer — Tiramisu, New York Style Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, and Chocolate Cream Pie. We were happily stuffed after the lunch buffet, so we didn’t get a chance to try any of the desserts. When I come back to this area, I will most certainly be coming for lunch again! I’m pretty sure my daughter will come without me, since she’s now living nearby! sniff, sniff

Desperately needing pizza after a week of grilling out, Papa’s was recommended for great tasting pizza. We decided to order carry out instead of wait for delivery. Our large pepperoni & small cheese were ready in about 20 minutes. Once we got it back to our condo, we dug in. THIS is the best pizza around, on and near the beach! I am use to NY Style and this is the closest to NY you can get. I totally agree with previous reviewer about the cheese. It is real and not an oily mess of glob. Super chewy cheese with a mildly sweet sauce on a crunchy bottom: soft top crust. True perfection! Service was super friendly(even when my cell kept breaking up). This place was definitely worth the drive!

As a native New Yorker transplanted in the South, I have to say this place is a goldmine! Closest thing to REAL pizza that I’ve had since leaving home. Its hard to get the crust just right but its almost spot on, and most pizza places don’t recognize the importance of quality cheese… They figure the sauce is more important than anything, which is so not the case. The sauce here was pretty decent, but the cheese is awesome and flavorful as it should be. The garlic knots were good too. The cashier was very friendly and pleasant, which was just another added bonus. I highly recommend giving this place a try; if you’re disappointed afterwards, you must’ve spent too much of your life eating frozen pizza!

Super friendly to start with. A real brick oven is harder to find than a 4 leaf clover. And they have one! Kind of an «old fashioned» pizza parlor in a beach community. Excellent. Highly recommend.

Strange experience with this place. Sunburned and bit tipsy from a day on the Gulf Shores beach, we decided to ask the Unilocal gods where one could order a decent pizza while visiting this beach town. 4 and half stars lead us here and I called papas around 4pm. I was informed that delivery did not begin until 5pm. Ok. Called back at 4:45, as we were heading back out to the sand and wanted to be first in line for delivery. I was then informed that they were not sure the delivery guy was even coming and was asked to call back at 5pm again. *Here is where I should have called dominos, but I wanted to keep it local. I called back at 5:08(to give delivery guy time to clock in and such). Was then informed that it would be a 2HOURWAIT for delivery. What?! How many people placed orders in 8 minutes??? I asked. Really, I asked the manager this. He told me if I hurried, he could get it to me in 1 hour. I went along, as I already had a huge order prepared. Then, it was delivered in about 35 minutes. Strange… Frank Sinatra pizza ok in a cicis pizza kinda way. Plus drunk people aren’t too picky when it comes to pizza. Pass on all pastas. Alfredo and baked spaghetti has no flavor and was all clumped together. Cheesecake tasted like a Cisco frozen delight for sure. To be fair, I don’t think delivery is their bread and butter and all reviews talk about a great dine in experience. A tip, papa: don’t advertise delivery on Unilocal… it only confuses buzzed beach goers in your fair city :)

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Great price, fast service and friendly service. We had a pepperoni pizza and you could definitely taste the freshness of the crust and the pizza was not greasy at all.

Really good strombolies. Pretty fast service! Salad bar is really good and worth coming just for it. Highly recommend this place. Only drawback is that you have to bring your own beer… Our server Katie was phenomenal!!!

Very cool little place. Not too touristy. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and a stromboli. Portion sizes were adequate. The salad bar was very nice… much of the items on the salad bar are homemade. The bacon bits are actually shredded bacon from real bacon strips. The service, unexpectedly, was some of the best I’ve seen at any place. Greeted quickly, served drinks in a few seconds, order taken promptly, food served 8 to 10 minutes later, but above all, the staff was friendly and incredibly attentive. We were waited on by a guy named Turner. A young guy with a great personality, friendly, and very helpful. This was our first visit to Papa’s Pizza, but it certainly won’t be our last.
