Island View is so much fun. The employees are fantastic! True Southern hospitality! The rooms are awesome just like the food and gaming!

It’s seem to be a bait and switch. You get offers for free rooms and when you call their always booked. I called to book a room and was told they were booked that day so I asked for another date and to my surprise all the dates were booked that were offered. I then had a friend from out of town with the same offer that I received call and she got a room no questions asked. So I guess if your local no rooms for you.

Wow this place has grown since we were last here in 2011! We took the shuttle from our hotel but when we tried to go back, it took them a long time to get someone to bring us back. We could be grabbed a cab faster. Looking forward to going back and hopefully a better transportation. Other than that, we had a good time.

A very nice resort. Views you can not beat on the beach, and the beach tower pool is really nice. They close it in Oct. due to the season. If you are traveling with 1 – 3 people request a king bed and the room is a lot bigger! If you stay in the main building you get to watch the beach tower dance with lights, if you are in the tower, the walls light up outside and it is so nice! Not to mention that you have a great chance of getting a room right over the beach! It is a short drive the Hwy 49– with all the shopping you can think of.

On Sunday, I made my first visit to the Island View Casino in Gulfport. I was a little confused about where to park because there was little to no signage about where the casino floor was located. The valet at the Beach Tower finally pointed us in the right direction. The Casino was very nice, clean and surprisingly not too smokey. We waited in line for about 20 minutes to sign up for the players club, but it was well worth it! New members received a free buffet and $ 10 in free slot play. In addition to the in house gratis, they also included several coupons for some of the other restaurants around Gulfport/Biloxi! The Buffet — I don’t do buffets, but this is where the parental units wanted to dine for their anniversary lunch, so I relented. The food options were decent… but again… this isn’t my wheelhouse. I will say that the desserts looked awesome and I did have some delicious gelato from their ice cream bar. All in all, this wasn’t my favorite part of the day. FYI, our waitress, Pinky, was fantastic! The Slots — I’m used to playing in the city at either Harrah’s or Treasure Chest, so I found these games to have a much better payback ratio. All in all, I walked away turning that $ 10 free play coupon into $ 70 in cash. Not a bad day! I will be back to the Island View, but probably not the buffet…(unless it’s free, of course!)

I was in Gulfport this past week for work and spent three nights at the Island View. I stayed in their brand new Beach Tower and it was gorgeous. It has a modern-Miami feel but is still casual and comfortable. The rooms boast high-end finishes in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was huge. Loved this room! The restaurants are still working out kinks — so not the best food but had some really great drinks in the bar!

Staying in the beach tower is like being at a resort. Brand new modern hotel separated from the casino. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The casino is so easy to earn rewards. You will not have to leave for dinner or anything. Tons of restaurants and bars. The rooms are very nice. The pool is over the gulf with a swim up bar and umbrellas that are free. The pool drinks actually taste good and are reasonably priced. The food is delicious. I ate at the buffet for lunch… very good. And for dinner I had a flat bread pizza from the gulf breeZe bar. Awesome flat bread pizza! And drinks. Plus the view to die for… perfect place for grown up gamblers with little ones.

Stopped in for a quick late night meal on the coast. The buffet was closed so I had few options so we ate at the diner inside the casino. Hoping for the best I ordered the simplest meal I could which was the club sandwich. The club was bland with no mayo and then I noticed it had no cheese. One addition that I like to the club is the cheese, one side swiss and the other american it takes the club to the next level. On this thing the bread wasn’t event toasted which is a bad thing when you have such a stuffed sandwich. I hope for the best, didn’t get the worst but didn’t get good either.

I’m a big slot slut, so of course had to stop in and check out the casino. When signing up for their club card you have the chance to win between $ 10 and $ 1000 in free play and they give you a coupon book. It was interesting that none of the coupons were for any establishments/restaurants in the casino. Was surprised by the size, much larger than I thought it was going to be. Quite a large variety of slots. Tried a few. Up and down multiple times, ended up leaving down. Not as smoky as some other casinos we’ve been to, but you could definitely smell smoke. They did not have or we did not find a smoke free area. They do have waitresses that come around for drink orders. We did not try any of the restaurants while here.

Very disappointed overall. As far as the hotel & rooms they are very nice and modern and seemed clean until the sheets & housekeeping. I noticed some stains or marking on the sheets and a recognizable mark that looked like a lipstick mark on one of the pillowcases. We decided to stay over again because we were exhausted so I asked the housekeeper when she did our room to just change the sheets & sweep for sand & go around everything else & later as I got in bed I noticed that same stain on pillowcase so she didn’t change that pillow case I know. I couldn’t believe it. Also there was spilled coffee on the floor and onto the new sheets they supposedly just put on. The air conditioner in our room didn’t cool even after 2 trips from maintenance. The TV wasn’t working and they had to come up and reset it they said. Then we noticed they didn’t even leave any toilet paper & we had none. When we called about that asking for some, a gentleman was very rude and whoever brought it to the room(maybe the same guy) was laughing with a smirk about it. The manager I spoke with was very nice and comped our first night stay. Now to the food, we ate at C&G as well as the buffet. Shrimp was mushy and would practically smear in your hand when you took off the shell. Gross. The casino was great & the beer is free there too. For the most part people are very friendly here and that is a plus but I doubt if we would stay here again or at least not eat here for sure.
