Had a great four day birthday party for Karen… Stopped in for breakfast on the way back to New Orleans. Lynn our waitress is top shelf and kept our coffee mugs filled. Highly recommended…

What a great place to step back in time and enjoy a meal! We had heard they serve a good lunch so we finally checked it out. Walk into the pharmacy and head back to the diner complete with old booths and the ‘lunch counter’ It was cool because the wait staff knew peoples names as they came in. We had a cheeseburger and fries, pretty good and inexpensive. Refills on Coke is a must! Nice service, family owned and just a cool little place to grab a bite to eat. Hot and fresh, made to order. The menus were ancient and a little on the ’ needing to be replaced side’ but the original napkin holders were very cool. Definitely be back to try the club sandwich which looked really good.

Meat and veggie lunch plates. My suggestion is to go for breakfast. The beignets are YUMMY! Prices are great. Service is super friendly. We go back every time we are in town.”

This remains probably my favorite place for lunch in Gulfport. My only quarrel would be the gift shop prices are way too high(so, I just avoid it) and the cornbread’s never warm, but we usually just take the leftover bread home and warm it up later or feed it to the birds. You can also hear a lot of entertaining gossip at the lunch counter.

A staple of my childhood :) When i was a young tot, i was always sick with asthma and TD is where my prescriptions were filled, so while we waited, my mom would get me a chocolate malt… they were pure awesomeness then and still today! This is not some strange goo oozing from a machine that Sonic and Mc Donalds call a milkshake folks… this is like 4 or 5 huge scoops of ice cream, milk and flavor to create paradise. I began working downtown after high school and TD quickly became my regular place for lunch and while the food is not by any means mind blowing or exceptional. But its reliable and comfy, the prices are very reasonable and you usually have about 4 or 5 selections on daily«homecooking» specials to choose(meatloaf, country fried steak, chicken and dumplings, liver, fried chicken, pork chops, alot more) from as well as a regular menu that consists of burgers, sandwiches, fries, and they serve breakfast in the mornings. If you want a filling lunch in a no frills but cozy and«nostalgic» atmosphere, i would definitely recommend stopping by and giving them a try. and def get a milkshake!!!

Right across the street from PJ’s Coffee House is Triplett-Day Drug Co. Hidden away in the back of this old time drug store is a small café with the best old fashion ice cream milkshakes. A place where you can run in and get a hot turkey sandwich and fries for about 5 bucks and where some of the county’s «well-to do’s» sneak away for lunch and know they won’t be bothered. It is definitely a place where a person can have go and have lunch and probably not run into anyone who isn’t a local. Today was my first time and the only reason I even knew it was there was because a local old timer confided in me the location when I was griping about the cost of everything going up. Even when we got there we had to walk to the east end of the drugstore and look down the aisle to see that there were actually tables in the back. The food wasn’t spectacular but it was well flavored and the fries were crispy and hot. The milkshakes are still served in a fountain glass and any extra comes in the stainless steel mixing cup. They have lunch specials and the sandwiches are well portioned. Much like Dog N Burger but they take credit cards.
