This delightful surprise would have netted five stars but the mango ice cream as served was inedible. Frozen solid. Everything else about the meal was absolutely perfect, though. I was initially disappointed that they would not serve the combination appetizer platter on a weekday but the sherpa roll substitution was a tasty surprise. The garlic Naan was superb, as was the chicken korma. A taste of India in the high country. Highly recommended.

This is my first experience with Tibetan /Nepalese cuisine. As far as I can tell, it was good. We were seated right away and were brought cups of lentil soups while we read through the menu. The restaurant is casual and decorated with maps, posters, and pictures of the Himalayas and the surrounding area. I ordered the Biryoni(rice with meat and vegetables) and my husband ordered the Momo Platter(steamed dumplings). Both were good, but the rice, while very flavorful, was a bit dry for me. I added a bit of the Dahl with Chutney that came with the dumplings. That was a good addition to the meal. The server was friendly and explained the dishes to us and made some recommendations after finding our preferences(Vegetarian or not? Spicy or mild?) All in all, this was a good experience for me. I would like to have the opportunity to try more of this cuisine. It was especially nice to find this charming restaurant in Rural Colorado. Definitely a good stopping spot while traveling in the area.

I walked in hoping to find a lunch buffet but no luck, instead the menu offed Nepal and Tibetan fare in addition to more familiar Indian cuisine. I opted for the Tibetan noodle stew with chicken. The Thukpa as its called, came with a large nann serving and arrived hot and fresh. The menu states all items are made to order and yes that is true. The owner is from Nepal and the stew was great, it almost reminded me of Thai red curry without the coconut and peanut. Very tasty indeed!

Food is horrible. Burnt sherpa roll(see photo). No lashi or samosas. The momos were filled with grease. Kathmandu sampler was great however, the only saving grace in an otherwise subpar meal. Service– the one server was completely overwhelmed and running around. Food took over 50 mins to arrive. Really a rare occasion that Unilocal has failed me. Cannot recommend this place from my experience today.

Ordered a soup dish(forget the name) but it was extremely tasty. People were helpful and friendly and the other customers seem satisfied.

Stopped in here for dinner with my husband and teenager. Having eaten at several Indian restaurants in the metro Denver area, we’re quite accustomed to pretty great Tibetan/Indian food. This wasn’t it. I order the Momo platter from the Tibetan menu and was unimpressed. The platter comes with chutney, that’s it. No vegetables. 10 dumplings and chutney hardly make a meal. Both my husband and son ordered Indian dishes and agreed they were ho-hum. Instead, walk down the street and go over to Twisted Fork. It’s a much more exciting palate-pleasing meal, for about the same price. I understand that my expectations shouldn’t be too high in a mountain town, but better can be found in this city.

Food was great! Service was. slow and a bit off, we were not asked about drinks, and when requested, we were not given drinks. Quiet atmosphere and happy employees, 5 stars for the food, 3.5 stars for the service/overall experience.

For a small town, the Nepali/Indian food here is pretty good. I really enjoyed their vegetable samosas, and the sauce that goes with it is amazing. Two comes in each order and they are fairly large. I had some of my sister’s chicken korma and it was very good. We ordered a side of the naan to dip in the sauce, which was great! We had a table of five, and they offered us extra rice at no charge. This was great because I’m used to city restaurants where they charge for everything. Also, we each got a complimentary soup at the beginning of the meal which was good too.

Walked in, ordered the Saag and cinnamon lassi. Delighted that they gave me their house Chai(whole milk, spices, sweet, hot, delightful) for free! while waiting for the food. The saag and naan that I took out was very tasty and satisfying. And words cannot adequately describe the cinnamon lassi. Try it for yourself ! Amazing.

Great customer service here. After a warm greeting, you’re offered a complimentary bowl of tasty lentil soup. We ordered the naan with garlic, cheese, and onion and it’s THEBEST I’ve ever had. It’s made with a dash of garlic and onion on top and melted cheese on the inside. The vegetable korma is delicious as well as the saag paneer which is very creamy. I highly recommend this restaurant to all who travel through.

Let’s be honest, there’s not a whole lot of selection in Gunny. Sherpa house delivers a decent meal, a good price, and a dog-friendly patio. They also start you off with the house lentil soup which wakes up the palate! Hard to argue with that. The naan is good and the curry is about on par with any other middle of the road spot. Some of the menu items leave much to be desired, such as the specialty breads which tend to have a microwaved soggy texture to them :-(

While I’m no aficionado of Indian cuisine, I do know good food and the dishes we tried yesterday at The Sherpa Café were excellent. An earlier reviewer was convinced that everything he had here was microwaved – I am just as convinced that the sounds and smells emanating from the kitchen had absolutely nothing to do with electromagnetic radiation. We tried the naan, the curry chicken and the Tibetan noodles. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. We’ll definitely be back.

Was optimistic with all the great reviews. Really, people? So…it wasn’t all bad. The naan was good. Flakey and crispy, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. The saag was good as well. Tasted fresh. That’s it folks… Everything else we had was straight from the microwave… no joke. Samosas…yep…microwaved soggy sacks of mess. Like sticking your finger in the Pillsbury dough boy’s stomach without the laugh. Reminiscent of a full diaper. Obviously cooked beforehand and then microwaved to order. Chicken tikka masala… microwaved…some chicken cold, some chicken hot, then some yellow flavorless thin sauce that tasted like a bad buffet dish at a casino. Lamb vindaloo… sauce tasted like canned salsa put into a blender, then extra hot sauce added in an attempt to make it spicy. One piece of lamb was nothing but gristle. I asked for it hot… was not. Should have asked for flavor too. There was no depth to the flavor. The food was very one-dimensional.

This was my second time here and it was great! I really wanted to try the Tibetan food, but in the end, chose the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan. It was really great! Portions were generous, food was served quickly and was hot. The chicken was lean. The garlic naan had generous amounts of garlic on it. They don’t skimp. Also the service was prompt and friendly. I would never drive by this place hungry. Ever.
