Make sure you read the fine print and ask a lot of questions about billing. I waited for 3 hours to be seen for a skin problem, which turned out to be very minor. No labs or tests were done and I was seen by a PA. They charge something called a facility fee and and a weekend fee if you go there on the weekend. Even though I have Blue Cross Blue Shield, I paid quite a bit out of pocket after my insurance was billed. I’ve never seen charges like that at any other Drs office or Urgent care before. I was also double charged a co pay(one for the facility fee and one directly from Condell). Lesson learned — for my case, I definitely should have gone to one of those CVS minute clinics and not this Urgent Care.

There was nobody in the waiting area when I walked in on a weekday morning. I proceeded to wait in a room for two hours before the doctor came in. As far as I could hear, they kept taking others before me. Didn’t seem too professional and I cannot believe how they take their sweet time getting around to see patients. They should not be allowed to keep the name«immediate care». The doctor barely looked at me and just asked me a few questions so she could diagnose. Doesn’t take any medical training to do that, other than webmd.

This was my experience: I was able to register right away, I was taken to an exam room immediately after that, then a nurse and tech(not sure) came in asked me questions, took vitals etc. so far so good. And once they left the waiting began… and continued… and…continued. I was not only ill but becoming more and more impatient. And finally a knock at the door(woohoo) «I need to swab your nose for the flu virus». She also gave me a Motrin and left.(Please don’t go.) More time passes and the Dr. finally comes in and asks me my symptoms. I tell her everything(I pretty much feel like I’m dying from the pain of this illness). She orders a strep test and I’m left to wait again. Yay! For same day service. More time passes and and I’m told I don’t have the flu or strep but I have a viral infection. Hmmm thanks doc for stating the obvious. I was told to take Tylenol and sent on my way. Turns out I have pneumonia and how did this oversight occur? I’m wondering the same thing too. my unfair but only logical assumption(because I’m on meds at the moment) is that maybe the dr wasn’t sure and only does tests for 2 types of viruses(the flu and strep) and once those were ruled out she ran out of options… one can only speculate because after listening to my lungs, when I didn’t feel as though I was going to cough them up, all was well in her eyes.(however she came across as very arrogant in my opinion so I expected more but that didn’t happen). To me a viral infection is as vague as telling someone with eczema they have dermatitis. I’m not the professional so what do I know? How did I find out I had pneumonia? I called my primary care the next day(6÷09÷14) and told them where I went, that I needed a follow up, and she asked me about my symptoms. That prompted her to make a same day appointment and after a chest X-ray–(immediate read by a dr) low and behold I’m sick with more than just a viral infection. This explains the pain, fever that would subside and oh the fact that I feel like I’m dying. I made the mistake of googling what can happen if this goes untreated and the answers I got weren’t that positive in most cases. Yikes!!! The only suggestion I have before going here is be adamant on more testing if you feel something more is going on… otherwise, well… who knows. Good luck either way. And another interesting moment is when I got a call, while I was waiting for my antibiotics, from a nurse from this facility. She asked me how I was and I told her everything and expressed my concern. She got quiet and said«I’ll make a note of that». My initial rating was 1 star but that didn’t seem fair since the staff was nice so I bumped it up to 2 stars. Forgive me for typos and whatnots– I am sick ya know. lol
