Okay I don’t know where they are getting the whole Cajun thing from, this is more like Chinese/Oriental food. nothing Cajun here at all. and the plantain dishes are more like a Spanish thing. fodd was not very fresh. staff was friendly and I guess not bad bad for food court mall food.

Seriously this is some fantastic food. I always go with the bourbon chicken, rice n beans, cajun potatoes, and either orange or jalepeno chicken. Their kung pao and spicy chicken are also worth an honorable mention. The meal is probably about 4000 calories but it’s so good and can easily split it into two meals. For less than ten bucks you can’t beat this place!

Food was ok. Not cajun, more like Cajun gone Mexican they actually have rice with pinto beans. Noodles are spaghetti noodles.

I love Cajun & Grill. I currently live in Richmond, VA, but I lived in Grayslake from 1992 – 1997. I remember going to Gurnee Mills when I was a kid and that I would always eat at this place. The bourbon chicken is so good! I order that along with fried plantains and rice! My favorite thing to get there! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves the authentic taste of Cajun food!

Cajun food that tastes more Mexican than Cajun no thanks. Comes with a side of crabby service.

Sometimes, we go to Gurnee Mills Mall(min. 1 h drive from us) JUST to eat here. That’s how good it is. As mentioned in the only(???) other review so far, you get an insane amount of fresh, juicy, awesome food for a sweet price, e.g., $ 6 for 2 meats &2 sides. Meats are mostly chicken, but they do have shrimp and fish too. I almost always get the pepper chicken and the spicy chicken or the bourbon chicken. Sides are noodles, corn, 2 types of rice, steamed veggies, and baked potatoes. Here’s a tip: if you care about quantity, when they ask you if it’s «for here or to go,» choose to go. For eating there, you’re given a normal plate which cannot accomodate that much food. If you take it to go(even if you’re going to eat it there), the food is going to be put into one of those boxes and you end up with much more food. There’s one down side(not enough to take away from the 5 stars): they are very aggressive. if you happen to be walking by there(let’s say on your way to the restrooms), they’ll be trying to call you over to try the food. Even when you’re standing there, already sure that you’re going to eat there(seriuosly, I wonder at those ppl eating McDonald’s there), they’re attacking you with samples and rushing you to order. If it were any other place, this aggressiveness would be reason for me to stop going there. Not this place though. The food is … excuse me, I think I gotta make a trip to Gurnee NOW.
