2 stars because the staff was helpful. 1st room I had was gross. Blood on the floor next to toilet. Broken shower caddy with sharp edges. They moved me to a new room. Curtains have stains and paint on them, bath tub faucet is wobbly and doesn’t turn off all the way. Ironing board missing cover and the iron pad was covered in who knows what. The ironing board holder has sharp edges on it. Ended up cutting my finger on it and had to go to the front desk to get a bandage.

Very clean room and public areas. Warm pool. Adequate breakfast. Well worth the price.

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel during a 2 day trip to Six Flags Great America. The first room that they attempted to give us was so small that I was forced to ask for an upgrade. The upgraded suite was much nicer and larger but still very small. It was adequate at best. However, since the price was so cheap as compared with other hotels in the area, I really cannot complain. One major complaint is that the hot tub was«out of service» and we were not told that upon checkin. Another major concern is that the pool was so small it was almost laughable. I’ve literally seen larger hot tubs. In addition, the chlorine in the pool was so strong and overpowering that our family could not swim in it for more than 5 minutes without burning, red eyes. My daughters eyes were literally red the entire next day. The hot breakfast in the morning was average at best, but they ran out of food very quickly, and did not replenish it. Some of the later arriving guests were left with nothing but cold cereal remaining. To me, that is unacceptable. Overall, our stay was just OK, but we will definitely never stay here again. The low price is attractive, but the accomodations simply are not.

I shouldve stayed at the Super 8 down the street. It could not have possibly been a worse experience. Rude staff(not all but most), ourdated rooms and pool, old stained smelly couch, kept having maintenance issues but was told every time that there was no maintenance person available. We simply left after being fed up and stayed somewhere much nicer, classier, cleaner AND less expensive!!!

I recently had a family reunion in Gurnee IL. Our entire family, 60+ people, stayed at this hotel. We were loud at times, took over the conference room and were just all around excited to see each other for the first time in years. Luis, Maria and the entire staff were very understanding and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the pool was a hit. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

I have stayed at this hotel two times now, both in the middle of winter. I can’t speak for summer tourist season when Six Flags is in full swing but it was a great deal for Christmas. The hotel was quiet and warm. We had a king bed and couch in our room, and there was enough space to set up a pack-n-play. The fridge was very handy. It is no luxury hotel but for $ 60 a night, this place can’t be beat(don’t know summer pricing) The parking lot was plowed and there are several restaurants nearby, making it very convenient despite winter weather. If you are visiting someone at the naval base, this is a good location. The interstate is near by. I will probably stay here every time I visit the area.

No problems here. Came into town for NAVY boot camp graduation. The hotel seems far on a map, but it was a short 15 – 20 min drive. The breakfast at the hotel is ok and the room was average. We had a Keurig in our room which was a awesome… but the best part was coming home to cookies in the lobby every day! All around great experience.

Worst Comfort Inn hotel experience ever — checked out after only 1 hour :-(Pool out of order, hot tub out of order, room a/c malfunctioning, very rude front desk staff person named ‘Nicki’, and they refused to refund any part of our 2 night reservation even though we were there for only an hour with nothing but problems. My kids were so disappointed.

For a moderately priced hotel chain, not bad! The room was clean, the staff was beyond helpful! We’ll stay again, because of the staff. These people go above and beyond! Very family friendly hotel. Lots of kids, and amazingly enough, they all seemed pretty well behaved too. Continental breakfast was okay, not the best we’ve had, but the fresh-made waffles were quite yummy! The only real negative is that the indoor pool/hot tub. First, the area is not as warm as you get used to, so you’re freezing when you get out of the pool. Second, the hot tub isn’t all that hot, so while comforting, not as relaxing as you might expect. Generally, a good place to stay and we’ll stay again when we take the kids up to Gurnee for a weekend at Great America(Six Flags for all of you that didn’t grow up here in Chi-Town).
