This place is terrible. When we got there we asked for a sling and the lady got us a high chair, flipped it upside down which works in most places but not this, it was wobbly and not sturdy at all so the car seat had to go on the floor. The sushi is poor quality. Anyone who had good sushi would not recommend this place. It is the same sushi you would get at jewel. I mean it had no flavor, enormous amount of rice and seafood was not fresh. All you can eat for 19.99…i would rather pay more for better taste and quality. Finally the service was not good. She was a bit rude and seemed bothered. Stay away and I would not recommend.

For starters, my boyfriend and I love sushi. We have had our fair share of sushi over the past couple of years and were excited to find out that there was an all you can eat sushi place in Gurnee. The sushi was warm and I noticed TWO small little bugs. Their fried rice was bland. Their dumplings tasted like the frozen kind you find at Walmart. Their sushi also came with a lot of rice compared to how much fish you would get. Overall, our experience was not the best. The servers and hosts were probably the best part of our experience. Hence, why this review gets at LEAST one star. My boyfriend and I will not be returning.

They watch you while you eat so you can’t share The service is hit or miss The first time we came the manager came out while eating our meap telling us the RULES of his restaurant. I just feel like we are treated pretty poorly when we come in. The sushi quality isn’t awful, there’s a bit to much rice for my liking but it’s not bad. Honestly just ordering to go is a way better option.

I’m starting off with the environment and it’s a very authentic feel of Asian culture. When I got here I was the first one, but people started to trickle in. It feels very comfortable as I am Asian as well haha. For food I started with miso soup, I think they did well on that! Started out with some sushi going with 4 salmon, 4 eel, 4 masago, 2 white tuna, 2 tamago(egg), eel with avocado roll and one Alaskan roll. All of them were pretty good other then the Alaskan, it was just alright. Then I decided to get a scallop and mushroom on a shell appetizer which was really good! I’d recommend getting it! It is a bit heavy if you’re not wanting something heavy. And my last round they gave a bit too much rice for my liking and felt like I was so stuffed right after haha but it’s all good! And I forgot I got chicken skewers and had to stuff that down too!(4 stars cause there was a bit too much rice) Overall it was good, price was a good 15 for just the AYCE and I added other stuff that made it come out to be a bit more but worth getting! I’d recommend getting it and trying this place out!

I love sushi so I’m personally not stingy about it but the sushi quality is bleh. There isn’t a huge amount of variety and the rice isn’t sushi rice. However I’m not picky with sushi so I personally didn’t mind. What I did mind was the service. I’m a pretty tolerant person, so this is just a review as a warning to people who are more caring about the service. The waitress constantly had an angry face on, didn’t seem very nice, and when we had a question about the menu she just pointed at it. She also didn’t want to give us more papers for the all you can eat, so we had to constantly ask for a new paper, to which she just looked annoyed about. Okay food, bad service.

Food taste good but the service and staff are not. We made the mistake of ordering all you can eat and got one roll and rice and didn’t finish all the rice from the roll and got charged. We paid 21 for a 12 dollar meal! The staff doesn’t care and if you leave anything they will charge you so think twice about all you can eat!

If I could this place a negative review I would. Fuck this place. They charged me and my wife extra money for leaving rice. Rice! Not fried rice. But white rice that they doubled up on for the salmon sushi. Please stay away from this place!!! Please. Do not get caught up in the hype. I am a us navy sailor and they treated me and wife with such disrespect! I say again, save your money and go somewhere else!

Good clean fresh sushi. Moderately priced. Service could be friendlier and more accommodating.

My wife love Japanese food(sushi, sashimi,…) We went to the toshi last Saturday night. And order all you can eat for dinner(19.99person) There were 3 customers and it was a little cold inside. I had know idea about this restaurant order system. I thought that’s like ordinary buffet same way. But we have to use order paper every time. I’ve order 8 pieces sushi and mushroom soup. My wife was still thinking about it. When Sushi came out on the table, i noticed those are not good quality sushi. I could understand about fish quality because of all you can eat order so they should save money. It’s like buffet. But I really disappointed rice of sushi. I haven’t eaten a lot of sushi. But i knew that very important and basic key what they cook rice and how make Rice. It was warm and sticky, no good quality. I think they doesn’t know or it’s easy way. I look like pay for eat sushi who beginner sushi chef made sushi. I wanted to go out after ate i dish. But my wife wanted to order sushi rolls. We ordered 2 rolls. Honestly i wanted to left them. But ate all. We went out and i was driving to another sushi restaurant that we often go to restaurant for wife. Sushi quality: 4.5 Interior: 7.0 Service: 6.5

Fresh and delicious!!! I always get the all you can eat. You have to eat everything or you have to pay for what you left, but whatever, who lefts anything anyways!!? Lol I just really love sushi and this is a great place to eat some.

Servers are extremely rude. Most of the appetizers are tasteless especially the teriyaki chicken. The sushi is hot, not warm, not room temperature, but hot thick pieces of rice with warm mealy fish. Worst meal ever.

We come here every year after our Key Lime Cove stay. Family owned business. Owner remembers us every time. All you can eat sushi is amazing. They have a lunch and dinner offer, as well as a full a la carte menu and bar. Fresh, fast, delicious. I wish they were closer to home.

Came here on a Sunday night and this place was pretty empty. There were only 2 other small tables and you will understand why after reading the rest of my review. First, the sushi selection isn’t the greatest for a AYCE. There is nothing special about any of their rolls. Second, the waitress constantly warns you about the AYCE policy, that you must finish all you order or you would have to pay. They kept bringing this up every time we ordered, which is pretty damn annoying. Third, their sushi comes loaded with rice as fillers. If you order a sashimi, you get a small thin piece with a chunk of rice. Stingy practices all around probably from the owner down. Save yourself some time and go to other places by Gurnee if you are ever around the area. I will not be coming back here as I felt like this is by far the stingiest sushi place I have ever been too.

I usually love Toshi, but I recently went for an all-you-can eat lunch special and was disappointed with the overly used amount of rice for the sushi rolls. I wish I had taken a picture, but the amount of rice nearly made it impossible to finish the sushi rolls itself. Rice = carbs, extra unnecessary rice = I’m way too full to manage finishing what I ordered. If you don’t finish eating, then you get billed for each additional roll. I guess that’s one of their tricks used in making profit from this so-called«special».

I’m a fan of the unlimited Sushi for 14.95 or 19.95, I’m yet to find another place that offers such a deal. The sushi is freshly made and you can order more as you eat. Plenty of options which means you get the bang for your buck. You have to finish all the Sushi or else a charge is placed, despite that really good deal

I came for the udon. Noon on a Tuesday was understandably slow for an all-you-can-eat sushi establishment, especially if you note the gray skies and fifty degree temp in the middle of May. The server was a nice guy. The udon felt comfortable. Like his mom was ladling the stuff into bowls in the back. I got what I came for.

I love this suchi place! Its all you can eat sushi and its always freshly prepared. You have to order it so it’s not like a buffet at all. The atmosphere is really cute and its a true Japanese feel to it. They usually play Japanese music which is nice. The service is usually good and unless its super busy the wait for your food is not bad at all. You do have to pay for any sushi you dont eat so be careful not to over order just because you can. They have some Japanese pops that you can purchase as well so its really cool. The price is not bad at all 20 dollars a person which considering sometimes you can pay 10 dollars for one roll at other places, is not bad at all.
