The problem was fixed quickly. No long lines like you get at Big Box stores.

Have used the guys at Zytek for years. They’ve always been straight shooters with me, letting me know when something needs repair and, perhaps more important, when something didn’t. It’s a far drive for me to get to Gurnee, but worth it with these guys. Love to support a small, local biz, too.

It is so good to find a small business right in your own neighborhood with such great service. I sent a message while they were closed and on vacation. The owner was gracious enough to respond to let me know that. I went to see them the day they came back and met his son. Although I didn’t get a whole lot of work done. Within 2 – 3 days I got my laptop fixed and the price was very reasonable. I will be back for the repairs of my PC.

These are the best human beings alive and I love them! My daughter poured bubble solution into my Macbook and fried it… dead! No lights would come on, nothing from the screen, no sounds, nothing. I took it to the authorized dealer/​repair at UMass, and other than pulling data off the hardrive, they weren’t able or willing to do anything. I was handed back my computer with the harddrive in a separate bag, and that’s how it stayed for the next couple of months. We have since moved to IL, and my husband found these guys, so we dropped the computer off to them. They phoned me after a couple of days saying they had it up and running. I couldn’t believe it, I really thought it was dead forever. They said they wanted to keep it for a couple more days, because when liquid has been in a machine they like to ensure that it *keeps* working. I picked it up today, and I am writing the review on it now! Other than the fact that it is a lot cleaner than I usually keep it, I would never know anything had happened to it. I don’t know what they did to get it working again, I assume magic was involved, but I am so grateful; I can’t afford a new macbook. Oh, and as a bonus, it cost less than the UMass data retrieval.

After having another business tell me they could not figure out the problem, took it to Zytek and was so happy I did.
they were able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly and kept me updated on the progress. The cost of the repairs were fair and the turn-​around time was good.
I would highly recommend them!

When your computer is down, this is the place to go. Great price and super friendly service. As a side note they did move to Old Grand Ave.

I was not satisfied. They kept my computer two weeks, and changed everything around, and had been playing games, which they left on the computer. I paid and when I got home, the computer did not work, so I took it back and got a refund. Another friend had it up and running. I felt they did not care, and I would never go there again. I found all the stuff, that they had put on, after a friend fixed my computer.

I have a Toshiba laptop that I basically live in. I make my living as a writer and online entrepreneur, and so I spend all day with it.
It started overheating and shutting down, so I knew it needed maintenance. I kept putting it off until one night it overheated, I went to bed, and I found when I woke up that it hadn’t properly shut down. It was still hot and running, the fan cycling on and off.
I freaked out. No time for online research, I grabbed the yellow pages and found computer repair and called the place with the biggest ad.
Turned out this place was a family operation, with 3 generations working the business. The two currently active folks were a father and son, both named Rudy. My initial contact was with Rudy Jr. He was a personable, friendly and helpful guy.
I left my baby there at the shop and waited for the call with the diagnosis. Turned out that dust was the culprit, and they went ahead and did their magic.
When I got my computer back, it was like new. The overheating problem was completely gone. They had also installed some free software that got rid of close to a thousand bugs and viruses and trojan horses and all that other crap that is floating around online.
I thought I had done a pretty fair job at keeping my computer software clean, but it was only pretty fair. They upgraded it to excellent, and now I have the tools to keep it clean too.
The one weird thing that happened was that they had changed my desktop around; this was unexpected. I ended up bring the computer back to them and Rudy senior worked patiently with me to explain why the changes were made (more efficiency) and to help me bring back some stuff I couldn’t restore myself.
Altogether, I had a great experience with these guys. They were both very cool and fun to work with, they did a great job on my computer, their price was very fair, and they were very kind on payment terms.
