Really can not rate Union Tacos because they are no longer open. We were in Guthrie for the Bluegrass Festival Oct. 3. They need to take down their web site.

We so wanted to eat dinner here last night(Saturday), but it was CLOSED. It appears that they are closed indefinitely and looking for another location. So disappointed! I don’t want to give it just one star since I haven’t eaten there, but Unilocal is forcing me to give a rating.

Pretty good place. The food was great and the service was as well. It would be better if they had their liquor license.

I’d love to give them 5 stars but I’ve never been to their restaurant so… We had the opportunity to try their food at an event and hands down one of the best pork tacos I’ve had in my life. The peach topping and pickle made it!

It’s been a while since I’ve written a review, and I realized it was time to review one of my favorite places: Union Tacos. Farm-to-table is «in» for now, but a lot of times, I can’t afford it. It also just makes me think of the first skit in «Portlandia.» «Are these chickens local? Were they friends? Do you have pictures of them with their wings around the other?» Honestly, with the environment and love you feel from the Union Tacos owners, I wouldn’t be surprised if their chickens were friends with each other. There’s a passion they emit, and it’s present in their food, décor and everything about it. The most amazing feat I feel they’ve done? Have such a huge following for their food that people in OKC and Norman drive up to Guthrie just to try it. Every time I go, the experience is unique. The menu changes and they tell you the ingredients come from down the road at local farms. You’d think this would make it expensive, but it’s surprisingly very affordable. Nothing on the menu is over $ 10, and I have yet to finish a full meal. Fish tacos, chimichangas, tostadas, you name it! They have a little bit of everything you would expect from a great Mexican restaurant. Two things that stand out to me: those chips and the bread pudding. Those. Chips. They are house made flour tortillas that are fried and maybe fried again. Dip it in their salsa and BOOM! Your mind is blown. OK, at least mine was. I could’ve had an entire meal made up of just those chips, but I had to try those tacos. «Make sure you save room for dessert!» Oh shoot, I almost forgot. The first time I went, I just had peaches and cream. I don’t even like peaches, but I wanted to be adventurous. I am so glad I was adventurous. Have you ever taken a bite of something and just laughed at yourself because it’s so good? I did that. Not even a bit ashamed. However, the dessert I think about is the banana pudding. Homemade ice cream, homemade caramel sauce, maybe even homemade bread! I could go on and on, but you need to try that one for yourself. Make a trip to beautiful Guthrie and say hello to those wonderful folks if you can. They’re closing the doors of their restaurant soon, but be on the look out for their catering events and food truck events around OKC to see them. There’s a chance they’ll be moving to a spot near you.

Simple and delicious! Great, bold flavors. Looking forward to returning on Barbacoa night. Will need to try dessert as well. Great find.

I have seen, tasted and heard enough of Union Tacos while living in OKC(great job being a part of so many local events!), but we finally ventured to the brick & mortar restaurant in Guthrie. I was totally under the assumption that Union Tacos was similar to a taco shop like Big Truck — so I was totally surprised when it was a sit down style with a small menu. My husband and I came in around 2:30 pm knowing that the lunch rush would be over, but we still did not get the speediest service. There was a lot of waiting throughout the meal. But pluses: I really enjoyed the tacos. I wouldn’t pin them to be Mexican, some of the flavors incorporated a sweet fruit. But the chicken tacos were a great spin on a Mexican taco. My expectations were a little high, but I know that UT is something Guthrie will benefit from for many years to come.

Union Tacos knows how to cook some pork! I am still dreaming of the amazing job they did. The bread pudding is magical. It’s like they captured the magic of a unicorn and put it in a dessert. You have to save room for dessert when you go. You won’t be disappointed. Keep making Guthrie Weird, Union Tacos!

There are very few restaurant options in Guthrie. Union Tacos does not add to that list. The food was good, but the horrible, horrible service deleted any memory my taste buds had.

We ate there on a Saturday afternoon and the when family loved it. They have taken the old Mexican food standards and kicked them up a notch with fusions of fresh flavors, bold flavor combinations and local ingredients. We went back for take out a few days later and were not disappointed! So far we’ve tried the Chimichanga, tacos, nachos, chips and salsa, Queso, and the guacamole. All top notch.

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Guthrie… is a modern locally-sourced taco shop? Yes, it’s true. Union Tacos definitely stands out amongst its more historic neighbors, but that’s ok – all the better for people to find them! I have wanted to visit since their opening in December, and fortunately, the result was worth every minute of the anticipation. Everything on their menu is made fresh and is locally-sourced. Their menu also rotates every day, so there will always be something new to try if you make repeat visits. As the occasional consumer of fish, I was thrilled that today marked the debut of their Fish Taco. It was battered with Coop Native Amber and Prairie Wolf Vodka. YUM. I also asked for two veggie tacos(instead of pork, beef, or chicken), and they were delicious as well. Note for the vegetarian-inclined: initially, it may appear that they’re not veg-friendly because of all the meat dishes; however, all you need to do is just ask and they’ll whip something up for you. My veggie tacos had avocado instead, which were equally delicious as the fish taco. Their chips, queso, and guac were excellent as well — the chips were a little thicker than what I would have expected, but still good. Service was delivered with speed and aplomb, as our waiter was very attentive to us and made sure we had plenty of refills. Really, the people at Union Tacos were so kind. The owner was there, and as we paid up front, he asked what we liked and told us about where they get their ingredients from, etc. It was obvious both from his conversation with our group and the delicious food that a lot of love and thought go into making Union Tacos a satisfyingly tasty experience. Needless to say, Union Tacos is definitely worth the trip to Guthrie. Go.

This place, i gotta admit, looked totally out of place on the Guthrie strip. I was desperate for some kind of food, and it delivered. While there were few gluten free options(wheat hidden in lots of things) the chef was able to let me know which things were safe. Yummy fries with meat! The place is sparsely decorated, but clean and modern. Worth stopping in if you are in town.

I really wanted to like this restaurant because it’s in my hometown & I wanted to be supportive. My husband & I took my parents out to dinner here, and we were very disappointed. The men ate their food, but neither myself nor my stepmother could eat ours. It was just too spicy & didn’t even look good to either of us. The manager was very nice and brought us chips & salsa to take home, but i threw them away when we got home. It isn’t cheap, either. I really don’t think Union Tacos will be in Guthrie long at this rate.

Incredible food. The chips were a bit different, but really good once you stop thinking of them as traditional tortilla chips. We got the tacos. There were three kinds: beef(10⁄10), pork(10⁄10) and the chicken(7⁄10). It was a really great lunch and have definitely talked about making the drive up from OKC to have them again.

Union Tacos does to food what Leonardo did to paint and canvas! The presentation is exquisite. Gourmet would be my feeble description of the food. The selection is narrowed to local availability of fresh ingredients. LOVE the chips and salsa! The 10⁄10 is usually my favorite. Go on Union Tacos. Serve me the 10⁄10 on the silver platter; not in honor of me, but of the fabulous creation that rests upon it. Carry on!

I like tacos. Not Taco«Shack» fast food pseudo-beef tacos, but *real* gourmet tacos, made for people with discerning palates and high standards. Union Tacos totally delivers on that. I will be back for more.

Haven’t tasted anything from Union Tacos that I didn’t LOVE. The chips and salsa as good as anything i have had from San Antonio, TX. Locally sourced and delicious! They are a great find in Guthrie, OK
