Monaghan’s Pub

The food, service and atmosphere are all very good. I have been going here since 1989. Carry out and eat in at the pub in the rear. My faorites are shrimp salad and the hot roast beef sandwich. You have got to go here.

Always excellent service. I’ve frequented the place since 2010. As long as I’m in the area, they have my business.

Ok I have eaten here a number of times. I normally order a salad which by far are some of the best in the area. However today I went with the crab cake plater. The crab cakes plater is something I will not be ordering from here again there are places with much better jumbo lump crab cakes in the area. so I only give the crab cakes 3 stars t much filling was used. but this place is great just skip the crab cake

The only place I come to feel at home when I don’t want to be at home… One of the last haunts where you can get decent food and good diverse company… The regulars keep the peace and newbies either appreciate the atmosphere or get gone cause there is no stupidness going on here… Shouts to the whole staff, again home away from home!!! Get da Jimmy wings, shrimp Salad or heated Italian cold cut!!!

Excellent experience. The service was outstanding and the food has me wanting to go back.
We ordered cream of crab, chicken cheesesteak, oldbay wings and fries.
Arriving was a tad confusing, figuring out which door but it didn’t take away from my review. The customers were diverse in age and race, and everyone was pleasant.
We are still thinking about the cheesesteak.

Excellent food and excellent service both in house and carry out. Friendly people. Owners will come over and talk to you.
Beers on tap or by the bottle are in wide variety.
Try their Cheesesteak sub, the Mac cheese and crab is out of this world good.

I grew up in this area and my mom would always run into Monaghan’s. Be it to get ice, buy lottery tickets or pick up salads for their Carryout. It’s a staple of the Woodlawn Village. The pub is in the back where there’s a full bar & seating. The bar is a typical neighborhood bar. They have TVs, keno, food & alcohol. No bells & whistles, but still great and people still go for lunch or a non fancy schmancy dinner. Imagine the Cheers bar EXCEPT, no one knows your name & no one’s glad you came.

I went here on a Sunday evening about 6−7pm, and it was fantastic. The waitress was prompt. The beverages came out quickly. The food came out quickly. The place wasn’t crowded… probably 12 people there? The liquor store’s entrance is in front, and the pub entrance is on the side. I had a «pit beef» with bbq sauce and horseradish, and fries. SO GOOD! The friend I went with had the cheesesteak. Very pleased. I’ll definitely go again.

Every time I have gone to Monaghan’s Pub it has been a great lunch experience. The food is always good and the specials are usually terrific. You get good portions and the food is much better than the chain restaurants.

Live in Columbia but have friends that live in Baltimore county. My wife ordered a Shrimp salad (seasoned shrimp on a bed of lettuce) while visiting her girlfriend and
brought some home. They give you a such generous portion
of Shrimp that its worth driving from Columbia to order. Please keep up with the generous portions and quality and you will have this customer for life!!!

A great neighborhood bar with good friends, great food, and friendly wait staff. Great that they cater to all major sports.

Had a huge order from our school as a thank you for their support of a community based project going on. Over 30 dishes were made for our faculty. They included everything from homemade soup and chili to sandwiches, salads and platters. They all smelled delicious as I drove back to school with the three boxes in the back of my car. I could smell the cheese steak sub immediately. Sorry I did not order it! Everyone was so nice at the pub. They had all our orders ready and helped us put them in the car. They were all labeled and it was easy for everyone to find their order during their lunch time. The sandwiches were piled high with corn beef, roast beef, turkey, etc. The Monaghan club looked amazing. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was. I had the turkey on whole wheat with honey mustard. It was good. I like the fact you have many choices of types of bread or rolls and they include chips and pickles with the sandwich. We will definitely be doing this again.

This is your typical old school pub with good food especially the Shrimp Salad, Pit Beef and Pit Turkey. Good for Ravens and Orioles games. Classic old school pub experience. Sit with locals that are friendly and knowledgeable.
