We didn’t wind up buying our mattress here, but that was simply due to our falling for a mattress in another store. We received excellent service and this is a lovely, clean showroom. Zero sales pressure was fantastic — the result, no doubt, of commission-​free sales.

After going to Bob’s Discount Furniture, and Sleepy’s and laying on dozens of mattress — I had an idea of what I wanted but wasn’t ready to pull the trigger. I felt the mattresses at Bob’s made me overheat and expressed this to a friend who lives in the area took me to Bruce the Bed King. Here’s why.
I was immediately greeted by Robert — one of the partners who was able to guide me in the right direction to find a mattress that was not only extremely comfortable, but within my budget as well. I never felt pressured to buy, and he was not pushy/​salesy at all with me. I ended up purchasing my new mattress which will be delivered when I move and I cannot wait to sleep on it.

Bruce isn’t the Bed King just because he says so. For over 30 years, King Bruce has been supplying mattresses, frames and futons to residents of Hackensack and its border towns.
My family has purchased 5 beds from this store over the years and we’ve never had a poor experience. We’re a Serta Perfect Sleeper family and you’ll not only find this brand at Bruce but a dozen others as well.
Service is, of course, customized and meant to be pressure-​free. You’re encouraged to lie on the beds as sort of a «test-​drive» and are given disposable pillows for a truer feel. What separates their sales associates than other stores is that they’re not paid on commission – so you don’t have to worry about anyone suggesting a bed that isn’t the perfect fit for your budget.
They do charge a delivery fee, but you can haggle your way out of it depending on how skilled you are. Their prices are the lowest in the county, something you’ll notice right away. You will quickly realize that you will be able to afford more bed than you had originally surmised. They also sell bean bags if you’re looking to really save.
