I did not want to lug my Valentine chocolates back home to Jersey from Manhattan. So I decided to go to Riverside Mall on Saturday to rack up on all the Valentine’s Day gifts that I needed and knew from experience this location is low on traffic because this is a high end mall and most people go the Garden State Mall instead that 6 times bigger. I was met by one of the girls at the door and she answered all my questions. Then help carried all my chocolate boxes and teddy bears and made sure that my purchase was credited to my rewards card account, I misplaced my card but Godiva has no why of sending me a replacement. If I create another account all my previous history would be lost and I like getting my monthly freebie since I buy from Godiva on a regular bases. Each year I be thinking of switching away from Godiva, since anybody that has there chocolates available at supermarket or news stands can’t consider themselves special. But the ladies still smile big when I do give them Godiva vs a lessor known brand, I guess is like they say, ‘it’s the thought that counts’. . I also had a super nice counter girl who got me my non boxed items and bagged them. She gave me enough shopping bags and tissue paper to cover everyone on my list. I then wished I could get her some chocolates too when she called me honey, XOXO, I think I will start making more trips to this location for sure.

I have been dreaming of trying their new soft serve, but the soft serve was incredibly disappointing! Not only was the ice cream not smooth and icy, the cone was stale. I even asked them if it was supposed to be icy like that, and their response without much explanation. If this is what Godiva defines as soft serve they need to just go back to the chocolate industry. This is not soft serve. On a small positive note I liked the surprise chunk of dark chocolate on the bottom of the cone. My level of disappointment was written all over my face. Mega fail!
