Nice family-owned deli/restaurant. Location is extremely clean and spacious. But the thing that truly sets it apart is the top-notch service. Employees here are really generous and attentive. The food tastes fresh and has a home-cooked quality to it. They also make their own homemade«white sauce» that was delightful. Not to mention the first-time customer special. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner. Will definitely come back again.

Falafel and salads here are the best I’ve had in the area. According to the owner, all of the baked goods(including the lavash) are baked in house. You can tell that it’s the truth, every bite is delicious. My favorite part of the restaurant is the service. Everyone behind the counter is friendly to a T, and recognized me the second time walked in. Feels like home!

I have eaten here numerous times and each time I order something different all the time its something delicious. Their lavash is amazingly authentic and spot on. I have been to Armenia and had their lavash and I must say it is quite good, no preservitives all natural and home made, who can ask for anything more.

One of the best kebabs in the East Coast — as good as in best restaurants in Armenia. The service is excellent as well.

Five star Mediterranean bakery in Hackensack. This place has tons of seating inside and is impeccably clean. They offer a wide selection of baked goods as well as lunch and dinner. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Excellent customer service. They are happy to make suggestions & explain any item you have questions on. I had some trouble choosing which pastry to get– I didn’t want something too sweet– so they suggested a khachapuri(cheese filled pastry). They also threw in a piece of baklava for me to try –OMG it’s heavenly. One of the best I have ever had. Wow. Another plus– they have about 8 flavors of coffee creamer! Not sure about other people but this made me happy! I will be back again when next time I’m driving through Hackensack & craving a tasty, homemade meal.

New, 7 mths old. Very good Falafel Wrap and Beef rice platter, portions are BIG, mysteriously and good prices. Fortunately, few things not available on menu. So, stick with Specials for the day. Couple were very hospitable and gracious, hubby gave us several free bread and dessert to try since it was our first time there. The leaven bread was really good, fresh off the tandoori. Overall, highly recommended. Hope they thrive.

I tried to order delivery from Lavash City last night, it was 5 pm on a Saturday, and they didn’t have any of the dishes that we wanted to order available. They didn’t have the ajika or the babaghannoush, and suggested tzatziki instead, which we didn’t want. So we tried to order soup for appetizers instead, and they didn’t have the German cauliflower soup OR the borscht. They said they needed to «ask the kitchen» and said they only had lentil soup, seafood soup, and chicken noodle. For the entrée, we tried to order shawarma platters, which were also unavailable. They suggested a grilled platter, but at this point, we were pretty fed up and ended up getting Juicy Platters instead. Seriously unimpressed, I would think that a place so new would do a better job to create a good first impression.

Cute family owned restaurant. Everything made fresh by hand and food are on display for your choosing. Good, hearty and healthy selection… which then leaves room for dessert! All the bakery items are amazing! My favorite is Cranberry Eldana, sweet and tart, moist and flaky. But all the bakery items are so worth trying.

THEFOODISAMAZING!!! When my boyfriend and I walked in, we weren’t sure about this restaurant as it was seven pm and there was only one other patron in the restaurant. However, we are so glad we stayed. I had a falafel lavash wrap and he had a chicken shawarma platter. The food was prefect. My falafel was light and crispy and the lavash was thin and flaky but sturdy enough to stand up up to the heaping of ingredients in it. My boyfriend’s chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside and the rice and garbanzo salad on the side were both delicious. We also got a side of tzatziki which was refreshing and creamy. The plates were huge about 12 inches by 5 inches and filled with food. To make everything better we both got fresh-squeezed orange juice which tasted like the oranges were just picked off the tree. We spoke with the owner, Anna, after our meal. They just opened two months ago and she is there every day overseeing things. All the pastries are fresh-baked by her daily and we brought some home with us to try because we were so full and couldn’t eat any more. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back.

We happened to be in the area around lunch time and picked this place at random because it looked nice from outside and we didn’t really know the area that well. It turned out to be such a good choice. We all chose the shawarma plate with pilaf and salad. I picked chicken with buckwheat(what a surprise!) and roasted veggies, my children had beef with rice and taboule. The chicken was so yummy with juicy pieces and some crispy edges, nicely spiced, with just the right amount of salt and pepper. My children said the beef was very good, too. The salads were fresh and tasty. Our lunch was quite filling and we decided to have just drinks for desert. I had espresso in an interesting ethnic looking cup and the children had strawberry smoothies, all very good. They had some really yummy looking home-made pastries but we were full so I bought some to take home. We soon realized from the conversation of a couple of customers that this was a newly opened place and I decided to write a review because we were all so happy with our meals. I don’t write reviews often at all but I decided that the place deserved the effort from me. I saw some people taking out their combo meals wrapped in a whole lavash instead of having it with pilaf on a plate. I decided to buy some lavash, too, to take home to make my own wraps for lunch. They told me they baked them fresh themselves at the store. They smell good and are larger and thinner compared to the smaller and thicker ones that you find in markets, which is much better by my standards since I can make a really large-size wrap loaded with healthy stuff using only a half of the lavash cutting the carb calories. The place seems to be freshly renovated and the ambience is very pleasant with ethnic decorations on the walls. Haven’t tried the lavash and pastries yet so can’t comment on the taste but they sure look and smell very good.
