This was a favorite of ours but today it turned into a disappointing lack luster experience. Ashley our waitress was inexperienced and not present it was made worse by the fact that other servers around us were s delight. I brought my brother for his birthday lunch and was mortified at the bad service and feeling as though we were imposing upon the waitress. There are too many great places to dine at– avoid this chain at all costs.

I’ve since revisted Oceanaire on countless occassions since my initial review, and this is now one of my favorite local restaurants. The service is always excellent, and the food is delicious. My favorites are the lobster roll, and the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich. I’m so glad that I gave the restaurant another try.

I went here for Valentines day with a girlfriend of mine. They immediately sat us at the bar(which i love doing) and the bartender Belle was so nice! She gave us honestly opinions on food and drink choices and made our dining experience superb. Definitely would go back. For a seafood place, the steak I ordered was so delicious and melted in my mouth.

I’d go to Oceanaire again if invited but not on my own dime. The restaurant lighting is so dark that you really can’t see your food(seafood, ha, ha!). The calamari was delicious but had more crispy noodle strips on it than calamari. The server, clad in what looked like a lab coat, was nice and knowledgeable about the raw oysters, briny and delicious. My husband enjoyed the his perfectly cooked medium rare steak with 3 shrimp, $ 42. I got what I thought was a Thermador style Shrimp. It tasted delicious but I expected something more traditional Thermador in cheese sauce. We disliked our shared side of Asparagus… they were as thick as bamboo and flavorless. We expected nice pencil-thin ones. Our server did deduct the $ 9 from our bill. We finished the meal with Key Lime pie which tasted good but I don’t think it finished«setting up» because the filling was warm and loose. By the time we left at 8:30, Oceanaire was quite crowded and we got blocked in by extra chairs, kind of claustrophobic feeling. Price-wise, I could have had the same type of meal at Biggies for less than $ 150 it cost us two. Biggies is also well lit.

Made an order for takeout and got the Fish n Chips as well as the Bread Pudding. 4 strips of cod whose breading was saturated in frying oil and the rest was a huge bed of fries. Honestly, Wendys fries taste better. As for the bread pudding, it literally was the size of a half brick and weighed about the same! For the high price, I was soooo not impressed! Doubt I’ll go back.

Terrible! Service was awful! We waited over two hrs for food and by the time it came it was cold and over cooked! We asked three times for water and couldn’t even get water glasses. The daily menu changes were impressive at first but clearly the kitchen staff can’t keep up. I’m willing to pay $$$ for good seafood but this place was a joke!

I frequent Oceranaire quite often(for both lunch and dinner), and I’ve never had a bad meal or poor service. The staff is very attentive. Everything from their steaks to the seafood to the desserts are delicious!

Returned here for dinner on Saturday night and the place was poppin. We had 7:30 reservations and they made us wait ten minutes(okay I will deal) and seated us at the worst table(not cool!) Isn’t the point of reservations to reserve a spot? Instead they seated walk ins before us at a corner table and us at a table by the entryway and kitchen. Really grinds my gears! The service was pretty attentive(which it should be for $ 100 per person.) The pour on our cocktails(not cheap) was lacking. Aren’t martinis supposed to reach the top? This one was a good inch under. Where’s the rest of the drink? My crab salad app was delicious and worth the $ 15 — saving grace of the meal. Real crab, none of that imitation stuff you find in these parts. Good thing I ordered a big app — the sesame seared ahi was more of an appetizer then an entrée. For $ 38 they could at least give you a side(seaweed salad maybe?) All in all you don’t get that bang for your buck. A $ 200 meal should leave you feeling satisfied, not jipped!

You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. That’s kinda how I feel about this place. It’s a nice looking place. Has a blue lighting at every table. The food is served very nice looking. It just doesn’t taste that good. Also I feel it’s a little over priced for what your getting. I got the foie gras(20) for appetizer and the Nordic cod(32) for my entrée. The gras was fantastic. Very tasty, only complaint was it was small. I finished it in about 4 bites. My cod came in a coconut broth With ramen and pork belly. The broth had no flavor at all. Was not the least bit tasty. The cod also didn’t have much flavor either, just a piece of fish on flavorless broth. Not too appealing. I only came here because I had a gift card. I would never return because I feel for the Money your going to spend you can go to a much nicer place with way better food. The bill was 200 $ as expected, I left feeling ripped off. When we first Sat down we where given a complimentary octopus cervece shot. It tasted great but it was a spoonful. I suggest only coming here for happy hour. At least then you can eat and drink for a decent price.

Sat at the oyster bar on a busy Saturday night for over 20 minutes and couldn’t get any service. Asked multiple times for someone to take our order. Will never go back which is a shame since the menu looked good.

Came on a Wednesday night, no need for reservation though we made one. It was my birthday dinner and they printed«Happy Birthday Denise» menus for the evening, it was a nice touch. Unfortunately the food was not as impressive. The wedge salad my grandma ordered was a frozen iceberg head that was defrosted and a grey/green color– gross, we had to send it back. The filet ordered rare was well done. The chilled seafood on the seafood platter was overlooked and chewy. Gave us bread pudding when we ordered cheesecake. Good points were the ribeye and mussels. Prices were fair, and service was pleasant enough, but probably worth it to pay a little more for better quality food.

2nd time coming here and i’ll come here again BUT… lets get to the basics Mall parking is fine The place is nice Service is good Food is good BUT quite overpriced. I don’t mind paying a high price for great quality but cmon $ 8 for a beer? I had an Artic Char fish $ 25. Decent price. But you get a small piece of fish and some cut up asparagus so normally you would opt for a side or add in wouldn’t you? Well $ 12 for lump crab meat was totally not worth it and $ 12 for parmesean truffle fries was good but they give you A LOT! Huge order of fries and 4 little pieces of lump crab meat. Hmmmm. All together that fish + add in + side ended up being $ 49 I came for oysters and ended up with a bill of $ 147 lol. I did eat good tho. 16 oysters, glass of prosecco, 3 Stellas, artic char with lump crabmeat, truffle fries, cappucino and oh yea I wasn’t crazy about the key lime pie which was $ 10 and big enough for 2. I sure can eat huh? My cousin’s bill was $ 190 but thats another story lol. Yeah Me and my cousin spent $ 337NOTINCLUDINGTIP. Now just imagine if we came here with 2 dates. Smh I would’t mind coming here again. If you’re in a good mood and don’t mind spending over $ 100 on yourself then go for it.

My second time here– so after giving it a second try — came up with the same conclusion — not a very good place to dine. Service is not great and the persons cooking do not know how to cook fish. It’s either over or undercooked. Don’t waste your money.

Went there and was so pleasantly surprised. Shrimp ceviche was delicious as was my swordfish which was cooked to perfection. The blue cheese on top and onions surrounding it made it seem like I was having a steak! Delicious food great friendly staff awesome bar and drinks. Bloody Mary was

Thanks to Claudio and the entire management team and staff for making my experience at the Oceanaire a wonderful one. The quality of the food was amazing, our server was very warm and friendly. This is the Oceanaire experience I am a custom to and the reason why I would visit again.

So, because the wait time for Houston’s was ridiculously long this night, too long for me to wait with the kiddies, I hopped over to Oceanaire. It was my first visit, and there was a little wait time for a booth, the hostesses cleared out the table and escorted us over. These two young ladies were very nice and courteous. I had two small children with me, and they provided them crayons and a coloring menu. So, yes, kid-friendly restaurant, unlike Houston’s. Ordered the Filet Mignon and potatoes, which was not at all what I was expecting; the portion was small and not really cooked the way I normally like my steak. This is more of a seafood spot then a meat spot. Which is why Houston’s is the go to for that. All in all, we had some pasta, and lemon meringue pie. Just okay. Perhaps, if I ever decide to return, I will try the oysters. The guy was shucking some at the seafood bar, looked like I should have ordered some of those instead.

This review is exclusively for their Sunday brunch in the bar area. Every Sunday they offer a variety of raw oysters for just $ 1 per oyster. Recently, we had Wellfleets from Cape Cod. They do an excellent job handling their oyster platters. Also, they have a fun Bloody Mary option where you can customize your cocktail with different hot sauces, dry rubs for the glass rim and items to garnish, and eat of course, such as a piece of shrimp cocktail, bacon, pickle, olives etc. Quite fun! Their Key Lime pie was quite good too!

Moseyed in here late Saturday afternoon for some light bites and Pinot Noir during a mall excursion. Formal Happy Hour is specific to weekdays only(4:00PM to 7:00PM), but they have a bar menu you can order from on the weekends also.(Sidebar rant — Weekday Happy Hours that end at 6:00PM are completely BOOTLEG. Sometimes you can’t arrive until 6:00PM! Glad to see that Oceanaire extends the fun to 7:00PM. We corporate lackeys thank you). — Togarashi Grilled Shrimp… the shrimp was so good that we forgot to dip it in the damn Thai peanut sauce. Even the cole slaw was good. — Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke… crispy wonton chips and some of the freshest tuna I’ve ever had. Flippin fantastic. They offer a pretty extensive menu with several seafood options and preparation methods for both lunch and dinner. You can eat clean here, or you can eat no-so-clean here. Meaning, you can have your seafood steamed, or you can have it full-on dipped in butter, cream, or anything else your heart desires. Not only do I need to give props to Unilocaler Mick L for bringing this place to the forefront for me with his great review, but I need to give props to my awesome date who actually reminded me to take pictures of our apps before we dug in. That’s Unilocaly behavior right there from a non-Yelper. I like.

Ambiance: nice and that’s all about I can say that’s nice about this place Food Mahi Mahi: overcooked, very dry even with the sauce it came with French fries with truffle oil; probably the best part of the meal Sides Ran out of asparagus… manager came over to see if we wanted anything else not knowing beforehand what other sides we already ordered… manager asked if we wanted broccoli and we said ok but never came back to say that they had it… why bother offering in the first place? Service: below average… waitress came over a few times but not too helpful For the price, not worth the quality that one would expect… Overall: would not recommend due to the high prices and poor quality of food

Happy Hour Happy Hour Happy Hour I’ve never run a restaurant, but I don’t understand how a place could offer such a stellar well priced Happy Hour, but charge a ridiculous amount for dinner. What the deal with that? Either way, the food is great here. The seafood is fresh, even the meat is good. Do Oysters, they do a baked oyster for happy hour that was so awesome. The drinks are great too(Double O 7) and the bartenders are open to questions and suggestions.
