A bit disappointed in the customer service at The Riverside location in Hackensack. I expected more here. Other than the manager, there was only one person who is friendly and knowledgeable regarding the products. For Saturday I expected more experienced staff. They were either young or just nonchalant in attitude and motivation. The Princeton store should be something to be modeled after. Their motivation and willingness to help is outstanding!

I love shopping at Williams Sonoma. It’s my go-to place for cookware, tools, electrics and pantry essentials. But I was rather disappointed by this particular store. When my husband I walked in, nobody bothered to greet us or ask if we needed any assistance. Mind you, the store was empty with the exception of one other couple browsing. We spent a good 30 minutes in the store without anyone helping us. One of the sales people acted annoyed when we inquired about an item we couldn’t locate. We picked up a few things and paid for them. On our way out, I stopped to look at the new Nespresso VertuoLine machine by the door.(I have a Nespresso OriginalLine at home. And I was wondering what the differences between the two are.) That’s when I heard the sales lady’s condescending tone say: «Oh, we’re not making coffee today.» Really?! So much for customer service… I’d rather drive to another Williams Sonoma store.

In general, I like Williams Sonoma. This location is a pretty typical example of the high end retail kitchen supply chain. It’s great for house warming gifts or a gift for your domestic god/goddess friends. You can see all of the latest small kitchen electrics, nice cookware, and it’s nice to browse the cookbook section. Prices are the typical MSRP unless you catch a sale.
