Tony’s is the White Album of the Hackettstown area: what you see on the outside does not prepare you for what is on the inside. I realize that the locals here think of Tony for catering, but this guy knows how to make a Reuben; he just added a one pound burger to the menu; and of course there is his legendary BB Sandwich, which can be had with Tony’s made-to-order home fries on the side, complete with roasted peppers and onions. Love this place. They are as passionate about making your food as you will be about eating it.

Alright so your going to have to trust me on this one. The place looks gross from the outside, smells like cigarettes in the vestibule, and is decorated the way your grandmother would if she were extremely old and senile and given complete control. However, if you can get past these things, I assure you you will have a decent breakfast or lunch. Tony’s is sort of like a diner as far as the food goes. Most of the food is either homemade or typical diner fare. The difference being it’s lack of an environment conducive to eating, for the the reasons I’ve previously stated. I would recommend calling in your order and taking it to work or home to eat. At my previous job, we would order Tony’s for breakfast every Saturday or Sunday. The best and most popular options were the BB or the Big BB, the BB standing for Belly Buster. The Big BB includes roughly 3 – 4 eggs, 2 hashbrown patties, 4 – 5 slices of taylor ham, and cheese, all on a sub roll. It sounds like a lot and it certainly is, but when you don’t want to eat again until the afternoon, the Big BB is the way to go. And just so you feel a little better about eating here, I have often seen many groups of laborers eating there every weekend morning. P. S.- When I say that Tony’s is not the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant, I don’t mean that it is dirty. I am simply saying that modern décor and lighting is not their first priority.
