My son and I love this place. The only thing we can review is the Saturday and Sunday Dim Sum Brunch. Very reasonably priced, clean, delicious food and a very friendly staff. If you have never tried Dim Sum, now is the time without having to go into China Town NYC. Make sure you get the 5spice pork, it’s so tender and flavorful. Everything on the steam cart is great. They also have a seperated cart that comes around and you pick spring rolls or Singapore Mei fun noodles or curry, which is cooked fresh for you. The trio of sauces accompanying the dim sum is amazing. The green sauce is our favorite. Don’t forget the tea. I like the fresh steeped ginger with fresh lemon. So good you forget it’s in the middle of Hackettstown.

The place was clean and the atmosphere was bright and inviting. I went for lunch with mother because she works very close to where I live. We both got tofu Pad Thai and it was off the charts amazing. My mother who is not a vegetarian, unlike myself who is, was in heaven. The serving size was perfect and it didn’t sit in my stomach like a rock. It was also very affordable. Can’t say to much about the service because there was really nothing wrong with the food and I had no problems. But Kevin(my server) was attentive and nice so I tipped him well. My mother and I, being new, asked a ton of questions and he gave us very informative answers. Even if you are not a local it is till worth coming in. Hacketesttown doesn’t have a lot of fine dining options so this is the place to be. Love, love, loove this place, I will be coming back soon.

We frequent this restaurant quite often! We love the server Mike! I actually have never eaten off the regular menu because our group is obsessed with the dim sum menu! That’s what we always go for. I have never had anything I didn’t like! The edamame dumplings ate the best!

Crazy good, unique Thai food. I’m no Thai expert, but have had plenty at different places. This place blows everything else away! The food specials are an amazing blend of flavor and ingredients. I had a crab cake with kale and pumpkin in a delectable yellow curry sauce. I think it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Also ordered was the Osso buco special, which fell off the bone into a delicious sauce. They use locally sourced ingredients which I really respect. The waitress was beyond attentive and helpful. She was fantastic! And the place is so cute inside! My only negative is that it’s a 40 minute drive from my house.

Delicious and tasty special(Oso bucco fusion). The kids loved the masaman curry and the pad kie mau. We shall come back to this jewel of Hackettstown. Mike the server was excellent and also likes the Oso bucco. Don’t forget to bring some lager to quench the spice(available in mild medium hot or habenero)

This place is like a 4 star restaurant(but without the 4-star cost). The décor is BEAUTIFUL, lighting is awesome, the wait staff does not even have to write down your order! They just remember it. Now the food… WOW! The food is like nothing you’ve ever had. We have tried other Thai restaurants and swore for years that they were the best, then we went to the Pandan Room. It now makes our«must-go» restaurants embarrassing to recommend! Honest. Highlights of the experience: * Food — Excellent, HUGE portions, excellent presentation, a playground for your palette * Wait staff — Very responsive, friendly, and don’t go MIA * Décor — Clean, casual, and relaxing. Bathrooms just as nice(shows they care) * Chefs — Care taken in buying only fresh ingredients locally. They even grow fruits and herbs on the property! * Cost — More than a bargain Unbelievable!!!

I am so sad that I have to write this review. This was one of my favorite restaurants for years. Sometimes eating here 2 times a week because I just used to crave it so badly! I was there last weekend for the first time in about 6 months and it was BAD! It wasn’t great the few times before that, but I chalked it up to them having off days. The waiter, for starters, was awful. When we asked for lemons for our waters he said they only had limes, okay no problem, we are easy! But after we noticed all the tables around us had lemons! The specials also sounded amazing from what we could hear from the other tables, but we wouldn’t have known since our waiter didn’t tell us. I very very rarely send food back, unfortunately my chicken cashew(which I have had probably 50 times, the meal that made me fall in love with Pandan Room years ago) was terrible. The chicken, I’m not even sure if that’s what it was, was gummy and slick. They took it off the bill, no problem, but he didn’t come back for about 20 minutes so I couldn’t even order something else. By the time I was able to tell him it was a mute point. He said that another table said the same thing, and he didn’t know what was going on. No dessert offered, which we were planning on ordering. All in all a terrible experience, which I am sad to have to write about.

Just finishing a great meal at Pandan. Corn fritters amazing fresh from Donaldsons farm. Curried crab meat outstanding. A gem of a restaurant. Wait staff friendly helpful. Thanks Jay for a great meal once again

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars. I will start with the positives. It’s delicious food, they bring you a mini appetizer before you order, they offer outdoor seating, and they’re byob. Sounds awesome! But… Unfortunately, my waitress Brittany was TERRIBLE. She came to my table twice! Once to take our order. And the second time to bring the food. Our water wasn’t refilled, we weren’t checked on… No «how is everything» nothing. If I wasn’t an honest person I could have easily walked right to my car without paying. I was at the restaurant for 2 hours! I’ve never been so angry at a restaurant as I am now! I asked a hard working waitress(she had short wavy hair) if she could please get my waitress because I was ready for my check, and I’d been waiting for almost 45 minutes. I saw her go back to my waitress Brittany, and Brittany printed our check, and handed it to the kind waitress. She couldn’t even come to my table to apologize! And of course give me my check after making me wait 2 hours!!! So hey! If you go to this restaurant, just make sure Brittany isn’t your waitress. She might forget about your table.

Excellent, interesting Asian food at a very reasonable price. If this place was closer to my home, I’d be there all the time. We had mango gazpacho to start. Cool, flavorful and refreshing. I’d never had this dish before. She had bang bang chicken in a rich peanut sauce. I had lemongrass ribs. Both dishes we excellent and satisfying. Clearly the chef is moving beyond Thai and Indonesian standards and it shows. There’s so much on the menu I want to try. It’s a comfortable bright room with interesting authentic artwork and a fun soundtrack. And it’s BYOB. You should go.

Fantastic homestyle Thai food and even better service. I ordered the lime cilantro noodles and I was very very happy! I asked for it spicy and it was spicy, so tasty! We will definitely be coming back!

I ordered Mongolian beef with rice and it’s just mediocre. The food was salty and all our dishes tasted the same. The service started off really good but it went downhill because one of their staff was injured. It’s understandable that our waiter had a freak accident therefore the service is poor but this will not be the kind of place I’d like to dine in the future mainly because of the mediocre food.

Great meal at Pandan on Saturday 2⁄10. Loved chicken wing appetizer and Thai salad. Forgot to ask for dressing on the side, unless you like generous amounts… The Pad Thai was fabulous and they made it nice and spicy just the way we like it. Don’t forget this place is BYOB. It is wheelchair accessible, but the parking is a bit of a hike and the snow and slush was not well cleared, so really messy getting in. Great service from Leona.

My daughter went to college up in Hackettstown and frequented this place often. She always raved about it. We came here as a family in May the day of her graduation. I have to say that the food was delicious and I am not a fan of Thai food at all. I would come here again.

Family dinners can be messy affairs, especially after a Reese Witherspoon movie and a resident Lumber Jack( ). But they were nice enough to accommodate 8 people with 15 minutes notice. So yes, there was some confusion in the beginning of what«Fusion really meant». In reality this is a Thai and Indonesian combo cuisine(at least for dinner) — not fusion in the traditional sense(Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese/American Mix) So the good: The food was exquisite(as long as you don’t go for the Pad Thai — slightly under cooked) — all super flavorful and very well seasoned. The Mongolian beef was an excellent grilled item(mix it with various sauces and dips for your desired level of hotness). Roti Canai appetizer was also a huge winner. Green curry Tuna was probably the biggest hit. When an Asia explorer ordered it, we knew it was a winner. Parking was actually super easy(on a Sat after Christmas — that is impressive) Why it didn’t get 5 stars: Service and décor left some to be desired. First off, the decoration shouldn’t be fusion just because the cuisine. When you mix Christmas decoration, Thai, a Indonesian art hodge podged together on the wall, it looks just kinda tacky. The lighting was also kind of dark — almost put me to sleep. The wait staff was a little bit stiff lipped at first when we asked them to bring our byob wine.

This was our first visit and we were definitely impressed. Bring a bottle of wine as it’s a BYPB establishment, charming on the outside and warm and cozy on the inside. We started off sharing a couple of appetizers; the curry chicken puff and satay chicken with peanut sauce. The chicken curry puff was light and fluffy and had a myriad of flavors served with a light cucumber lemongrass sauce. The chicken satay had an ominous dark sauce yet was absolutely wonderful. No fake sugar and very nutty. The main courses were Solid. We had bang bang chicken and mama Mimu curry(my husbands description) and they were both great! Definitely recommend chopsticks! Finally, for desert, we had chocolate soufflé and mango mousse. Amazing! When the bill arrived, the whole meal was less than $ 60. Great service from Kelly! This place is a real gem!

Tried the dim sum and it was great. They push out one cart first with ready to eat dishes — the usual stuff you would get at dimsum(shumai, dumplings, etc). The stuff on the cart was good but nothing to brag about. Second cart was made to order items and this cart was so good. Mostly fried stuff but the items all had a unique flavor to them. It was less traditional dim sum items but I loved it because it was different. The items I remember were the springrolls, corn fritters, sticky rice with egg, samosas. All very good and i liked all the different sauces they paired with them. I will definitely be back again. I will just make sure to save room for the second cart! I also remember the thai ice tea but not in a good way. Probably pass on the drink next time and stick to regular hot tea.
