My boyfriend and I were in downtown on a Thursday late afternoon and this place wasn’t crowded, in fact, we were the only ones there lol. But that didn’t bother us, our waiter & waitress were very attentive but we never felt like we were being watched by them constantly(if you know the feeling lol). It was our first time and the waiter recommended great items from the menu. He also explained to us the Spicy Scale that ranges from 0 – 10. In most indian restaurants, the selections is either mild or hot so I love how it’s more unique here. My bf and I both got a level 8 for our entrees, plain naan(which was delicious and perfectly made), and a appetizer of vegetable samosas. Also, the rice was perfectly seasoned and not powerfully flavored, just enough to balance your meal ANDTHEYREFILLYOURRICEBOWL lol. Although we were there alone, i think the place would still be very spacious with a full house/parties. Definitely recommend this place to anyone and will come here more(:

We love the Palak Kofta, Palak Paneer, Aloo Gobhi, Daal Makhani, and of course the naan(regular or garlic) with Raita on the side. But really we have never had a bad dish or bad meal here. The owners and the staff are incredibly nice, the atmosphere is great, and on Saturday nights there’s nice music. You can’t really ask for a better meal. And if you’re looking to treat yourself, get a mango lassi. YUM!

After much deliberation and intense assessment of Unilocal reviews, we finally decided to try Cross Culture for the Husband’s birthday dinner! The restaurant wasn’t too crowded as it was a weekday and also coz we were kinda late. With warm welcome, the attentive server answered all our questions and customized the food per our spice levels! The food came out quickly and was scrumptious and the peppy bollywood music playing at the right volume made the entire experience enjoyable! We had the spicy eggplant & shrimp special and the tawi special for appetizers! They were both good but we enjoyed the tawi special more than the eggplants. Entrées — we had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan & lamb biriyani. Although we missed the athentic spicy chicken tikka pieces in the gravy, we enjoyed the dish nonetheless! The lamb biriyani was amazing! And it was the best garlic naan we’ve had in a long time! We will definitely return!

Everything is amazing! Love this place. I’ve only done the buffet so far because I like to taste EVERYTHING, at least twice. Two of my favorites here are chicken tikka masala and palak paneer. The kheer is also on point. Tons of vegetarian options and the meat options are chicken, fish, and goat. The waiters are very nice but yes sometimes you may have to wait to be seated because the one waiter is running around tending to everybody. It’s no big deal. I hope this place never closes. I’ll be inconsolable.

Every time I go to cross culture the food is excellent, as is the service. I love the tikka masala and the garlic naan and frequently order it as takeout for a quick dinner! Overall delicious and authentic Indian cuisine.

The buffet was really good for a meat lover. They had fish fry and few chicken items. My father, mother and wife are vegetarians and they had less choice. There was white basmati rice but nothing to mix with that, usually they will have Dal at least in most places and they didn’t have. They had Rice Kheer as dessert and it was ok. I had my lunch buffet here on 7÷25÷15. After our buffet, I handed over the 10 $ coupon from and they denied it. I was informed they don’t take coupon for Buffets. It was never mentioned in coupon and the coupon clearly says«$ 10 Off» Save $ 10 with this coupon on any check of $ 50 or more. Pathetic! I was feeling horrible at the moment for the amount spent. My 5 year boy was charged 9.99(kids meal) where he hardly take 2 – 3 fish pieces alone. This is not the place for vegetarians or kids especially for the buffet.

Conflicted about this one star, but the owner needs to get the service situation under control. I believe we need to give fair ratings to businesses with a good basic product and that is definitely the case for this place, but the disgusting service I experienced here as part of a larger group needs to be exposed. Ventured across the Delaware to scary NJ and Haddonfield because we wanted something different to the usual Philly circuit. Discovered the food here was great, spicy and on-target. Tastes are subtle and complex. Its definitely value for money and may be a great option for takeout. But be extremely wary if eating in — the service is horrible. I took business clients here and will always regret it. From being forced to wait in the lobby area while the single waitress stands around looking at her phone to the muscled up Indian dude with short sleeve t-shirt and nasty attitude … this place has significant service challenges. Additionally their was an unexplained musty damp smell! If they can get this fixed it would INSTANTLY go to five star because the food is stunning. But the service thing is a BIG problem for guys like me entertaining clients. Frankly a lot of restaurants in Philly are all frills and little content. This is one where the content is present but let down by service. Disappointed to give a one star and I may try it one more time to be sure(in which case I will increase my rating) but for now I would advise people to avoid until I can provide a subsequent review.

Marvelous– please go! Has a great selection, polite staff, and delicious food! I’ve never been disappointed there. Just returned from a trip to India and find similar food here. They even ask on a scale of 1 – 10 how spicy you’d like your food, and are prompt at bringing it out– if that’s what you need. In the past, I had felt their service was slow, even when the restaurant was practically empty, as unfortunately, it often is. But when I joined a dinner party late this weekend, I had my food within ten minutes of ordering. Try the paneer masala and sweet lassi.

Good food for a decent price. We had gone there for a birthday party once and had ordered for delivery the other time. We loved fish tandoori, malai kebabs and the customized mango ice cream which had pieces of real mangoes.

Ate dinner here several nights ago. My entrée came out wrong(lamb instead of shrimp), but mistakes happen. I was really pleased how the staff handled it when I informed them of the mistake; they were very polite and apologetic and corrected the order in a very timely manner. The food there was very good with the right amount of spice(I like it spicy). We will definitely be back again.

Came here for the first time on Saturday 3⁄14 to celebrate my wedding anniversary and I was not disappointment. Food was delicious, servers were friendly and helped with the menu and loved the live music. Highly recommended. I give it a 4 star only bc I forgot my bottle of wine. Byob!

My husband and I love it here! We have been here 4 times and everything we’ve gotten has been amazing. We’ve tried almost all of the desserts and they are all really good so you can’t go wrong. Our favorite dish that always brings us back is the lamb rogan josh. We devour that sauce until there is not a drip left on the plate. The sauce goes spectacularly well with the garlic naan. I highly recommend trying it, it is our absolute favorite dish.

One of the best Indian restaurant in nj, hands down. The ambience, the food, the people, everything was excellent. Highly recommended the chicken tikka masala.

Food is excellent. Atmosphere is quiet but friendly– tables far enough apart to converse. Chicken kabob and Navratan Korma delicious. Somosas excellent. Service nice and efficient.

I freaking love this place. Gluten free chickpea naans(upon request), the waiters know their stuff, and the chef is always accommodating to special requests. My favorite Indian restaurant in the surrounding area even compared to IndeBlue. They even have live music sometimes.

Pretty good Indian food. I started with the mulligatawny soup. It was very flavorful and hot, perfect to warm up with on a cold windy day. I had the paneer palak, a spinach dish with cheese cubes. It was spiced just the way that I like it, had a thick consistency(which I also like) and good flavor. The naan and rice were both fluffy and well seasoned. Service was friendly. I was surprised how empty this place was, we were one of 3 occupied tables. It was a nice, quiet, comfortable dinner.

Went here based on reviews for a date night and we came out full and pleased. We had the vegetable simosas and the chef’s special naan as starters. Chicken korma and the chef’s special biryani as entrees and shared the golub juman as dessert. The chef’s special biryani has a lot of spices in it some things I was surprised to see in it like water crests. Some of the whole pieces of spices over power the taste and if you bite into it’s like a bomb of flavor came out. I had to spit out a few«seeds.» The service was very attentive and quick. The ambience was quiet and the restaurant overall was clean. We didn’t know it was BYOB but will be back again to try other dishes. We also had left overs which heated up quite nicely.

I’ve been meaning to try Cross Culture for a while now. It’s right in downtown Haddonfield, and I’d been told by a couple of people how good it was, but my husband was a little afraid of Indian food. He recently had his first Indian experience in Scotland, so he was a little more open to the idea, but still not willing to dedicate a night out to it. Lucky for me, it was my birthday — a day I’m allowed to be completely selfish and pick the restaurant of my chosing, and now one can say anything about it! And the great thing about Indian is that there are so many vegetarian options! I wasn’t sure how busy this restaurant was, but seeing that they had online reservations, I made one that afternoon, for a 6:00 dinner. When we got there, I saw that reservations really weren’t necessary, as there were plenty of open tables, but it’s nice to have that«insurance.» I was kind of surprised at how many tables were open, actually, but perhaps the cold temperatures and snow kept people in. Regardless, the hostess greeted us immediately and sat is in a nice, cushy booth. Our waiter was pleasnant, and being as we were not the most experienced in Indian cuisine, explained a few things to us about the tandoori style and some of the food on the menu. We may have gone a little overboard with the ordering, but we wanted to try several different things. For appetizer, we had the Mixed Appetizer for Two, which includes vegetable samosa, pakoras, and papadam. It was OK, but most of the stuff was fried, so I probably woulnd’t bother with those things again. We’re not big on fried foods, although the Mirchi Pakora(cheese stuffed hot peppers, battered and gently fried) did catch our eye for next time. For my entrée, I got the Navaratan Korma — mixed vegetables simmered in a coconut spice-laced cream sauce with nuts. It tasted more or less like a curry, and was delicious. I went with a 5 on a scale of 1 – 10 for how hot I wanted it, and it was perfect for me. This was exactly what I wanted. My husband got the Chicken Vindaloo — fresh chicken in a very spicy gravy. He went with the 8 out of 10, and was pleased with his dish, including how hot it was. He said he was«mildly uncomfortable» at the end, which was good LOL! He also got a side of the Achar — Hot and spicy Indian pickles. These were werid. I wasn’t much a fan of them, as they were just packed with corriander — you could just eat a spoonful of corriander seeds. He though they were OK, but weird. I don’t think we’ll try them again, but glad we did try them. Being my birthday, I *had* to get dessert. Actually, not many of the desserts on the menu appealed to me, but I went with the Kheer — Indian rice pudding. It tasted more or less like a regular rice pudding. Maybe a little more sweet. My husband go tthe Rasmalai — homemade cheese simmered with milk and nuts, served cold. This was freshly made that day, and was pretty good. Definitely interesting, and a nice light dish that I’d order myself some time. Over all, we received quick service, and the food was good. There are more things we both want to try, and now that my husband has ha d couple of successful Indian experiences, I know I’ll be able to convince him to return.

Excellent and fresh Indian food. One of the best Indian restaurants that I have found in South Jersey. My only issues was that I attempted to eat here once during their regular business hours and they were closed. No note on the door– just closed. Stopped by over an hour later and they were still closed. If you drive/walk by and they are open, they are definitely worth it.

Randomly popped in for dinner after a late appt in haddonfield. What a nice surprise! The 2 of us shared the Paneer Tikka app. I loved it, delicious cheesy creaminess. My husband not such a fan, but he ate it. For dinner we shared Lamb Korma. I never use«OMG» but this certainly deserves an OMG. Amazing. We were asked which spice level we wanted it. We went with 7⁄10. I would have been hurting with anything above that. Next time I’ll probably go with 5⁄10 so I can enjoy it more. We also ordered 2 different naans, and raita which were both excellent. BYOB, of course. We ate outside on a hot June night. The BEST part of the evening was the big bucket of ice the server set up for ice. We had ice cold drinks all night. We were the only table outside. Our server was incredibly nice and helpful, but could have been more attentive. This restaurant was huge inside, not what I had expected. Our go to Indian place is IndeBlue in Collingswood, but this stands right behind it. The naan is way better at IndeBlue, and overall less expensive. But if in the area I’d definitely go back again.
