Whoever the person here who coordinates weddings is, she is not helping the business. Her attitude when I was attempting to book this venue completely deterred me from this place. When I politely asked about extra time for the reception, and the possible charge for that, instead of just telling me or letting me know if it was possible, she said«most people only need 4 hours for their wedding.» I felt it was very belittling, and frankly, an unnecessary comment. Then, when I explained why I was asking, she simply replied with repeating what she’s said in a previous communication: «I’ll be showing the venue on Thursday.» Almost like, «Ok, whatever.» Mind you, this was all by email! I believe her name is Deborah. She can definitely work on her attitude.

We had our wedding at the Haddon Fortnightly in October, 2014 and could not be happier. The Fortnightly offered an intimate and historic setting for our wedding day that we would not have gotten at a typical wedding banquet hall. The club staff were wonderful to work with and allowed us to bring in the caterer, band and decorations of our choice which while adding a little extra planning work for us, only added to the very personal and unique feel of our wedding day. Our guests continue to compliment us on our choice of venue! Pat, the event coordinator worked closely with us as we planned the day’s logistics and always made herself available to us for additional questions and follow-up as our wedding day approached. The space is a beautiful setting for a wedding– we were married upstairs and held our reception downstairs with more than enough space for our 150 guests; and the Fortnightly’s location in historic Haddonfield provided a great backdrop for our many wedding photos. When planning our wedding, we were looking for a warm, intimate setting that would also allow us the flexibility to create a personal space for ourselves and our guests– the Haddon Fortnightly did not disappoint and I would encourage anyone planning a wedding or other occasion to consider the Fortnightly.

We were supposed to have our wedding here in September 2008. Supposed to. I found out from a complete stranger that the ceiling had collapsed about 2 months before our wedding day. When I called them, they told me that nothing had happened, but when I randomly visited, there was a dumpster out front full of debris and garbage bags covering the windows, so I couldn’t see inside. I went back and forth with them for a full day(which, with the amount of time I now had to find a new venue, was about a full day too long) and got nowhere. They lied to me repeatedly, they lied to my Mother, they lied to my caterer, and it took far too long for me to get any compensation from them for my invitations(which I had just received — and now had to be re-printed!) and, had they been honest from the beginning, I would have had a little more time to find a new location for both my ceremony AND reception. STAYAWAY!

This venue is not worth it. The people who run it are difficult and unaccomodating. You have to bring your own paper towels, trash bags, tissues, etc… besides having to clean up everything and take all of the trash with you. Spend your time and money more wisely!
