My family has been coming to Dr Moon since we moved to the east coast 20 years ago. The rest of my family has moved away but when i get my eyes checked i still go here. I went in this week for a checkup and to get back into contacts. The very next day i managed to drop one of my starter contacts right down the drain. I called them up, explained what a klutz i was and they told me they’d be more than happy to replace it for me. I went down that day to pick it up. I also ordered 2 boxes of contacts. I was honest and told them i’d looked around online but they were still beating the online prices by more than $ 5 a box. They cant compete with the chinese $ 6.95 glasses but they’re the only place I’ve ever bought contacts from.

I rarely feel the urge to write a bad review. But my 3 experiences here in the last 2 years warrants it. PROS: — you can get your glasses tightened or loosened for free, as a walk-in. — good frame selection. CONS: — got my eyes tested TWICE here. Both times the owner was impatient and didn’t take any time testing my eyes, resulting in a wildly inaccurate prescription. — Wasted a lot of money on the tests themselves, plus getting a pair of frames fitted with wrong prescription. Glare-free lenses, etc. Completely wasted my money. — Owner put drops in my eyes without warning me that it would effect my ability to drive or tolerate sunlight. I had to pick up my daughter from school immediately afterwards on a sunny day. It was extremely dangerous to drive, especially with my daughter, but fortunately I don’t live too far. He could have told me in advance that it would inhibit my ability to drive and see clearly for the next few hours, as I would have opted out of the eyes drops. — Owner tried to sell me expensive lenses and frames when I clearly only needed reading glasses. — When I came in to get my frames tightened a bit as the fit was loose, the woman behind the desk tried 3 times but the frames didn’t feel any different. I finally lied and said it was great just to get out of there. Walked down the street to a different shop and they fixed my frames in 2 minutes, tops. *** I finally went to an opthymalogist and had a proper test done. Bought my frames and lenses elsewhere for much cheaper. My prescription is PERFECT now and I can finally read small text again!
