For deli sandwiches and salad bar, this place cannot be beat! The staff, including Chris and John, are always very friendly and helpful. The food always tastes great and the prices are reasonable.

Bread Board is off my rotation for the time being. I used to LOVE coming here — as evidenced by my last two reviews. I’d chat with Jason and his friendly team when picking up my to-go order. Generally always the same thing: A half-size chicken salad hoagie with bacon, lettuce and provolone cheese. But why continue to spend the exorbitant price [for the admittedly very well-made and delicious hoagie] when they apparently don’t want my business? I’ve had a few bad service experiences in a row, culminating with audibly asking«Am I invisible??» while standing at the pick-up counter on Sunday evening. I understand work crises, but if you’re unable to assist a customer who’s been standing there staring you down when there’s not a single other patron in sight, maybe just say, «Sorry, we’ll be right with you.» But hey, I’m glad to know the ins and outs of your scheduling issues now. A big thanks to the girl who happened to walk by while cleaning, noticed me, and apologetically rang me up while the two guys continued their chat. Again — not your fault! If the service here would just shape up and return to the inviting local shop that it once was, I’d go back. It’s such an important part of the experience! I did email the team right after the incident to relay my concerns about their service directly, but have yet to receive a response. Keep in mind: If you want a healthy, fresh hoagie — you should give them a shot. Maybe you’ll have a better experience.

I come here for lunch with a group of my students with special needs. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We love the atmosphere and feel like we are at home here. Their signature hoagies and salad/soup bar are great!

A solid sandwich shop albeit a pricy one. I stopped in for an early lunch on Friday and tried one of their hoagies. The entire process was quick, order at one spot pay at the next, my hoagie was fresh and made correctly. It had plenty of everything on it. All the veggies were fresh and the meats and cheeses also. They also give you a side of chips as well. It’s just expensive for a turkey hoagie. I paid 12 $ and some change for a small fountain bev and a «classic» sized hoagie. They have breakfast also and they cater as well. I don’t think you can go wrong here for a quick lunch, it’s just too expensive.

My girlfriend and I stopped in yesterday afternoon for a late lunch and found, surprisingly, we had the place to ourselves. We were in the mood for a sandwich and some soup so I recommended the Bread Board. I had grown up in Cherry Hill with lots of cousins and friends in Haddonfield. The Bread Board was always our go to after practice, on a day off, or when we would come home from college during the holidays. They had 6 different soups hot and ready for us. I got the chicken escarole and she had the chicken diablo. For sandwiches she got half a tuna on rye and I had the half Italian hoagie. She got a great size portion for a «half» sandwich and mine was excellent as well. I like how they slice the meat for you as the sandwiches are made, nice and thin too! I only ate half of my sandwich and Chris(I think that was his name) was happy to give me a box for the rest. He also threw in a small bag of chips and a saran wrapped pickle spear which made a perfect lunch for today. Rare to find a combination of quality service and food like at the Bread Board. Thanks guys!

The food is great– it’s a bit expensive depending what you get. The kids meals don’t come with drinks, and there is no kid size drink option, 4 drinks cost more then $ 8. The salad bar is always well stocked with plenty of options. The workers aren’t always the most pleasant. The girl who took our order talked so low we kept having to ask her to repeat herself.

I wish I could give this place more stars because the food ROCKS, but unfortunately the service always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I usually get the veggie wrap with chicken and it is so good every time. If you sit inside/outside, you also get chips with your order! However, the older guy who works behind the counter is consistently rude to me. 2 weeks ago I even caught him making fun of me to two younger girl employees! When he noticed that I had heard him, he immediately stopped and looked down like a sad puppy dog. I don’t like to give business to places with bad customer service, but the food is so good it will probably keep me coming back, even if that means dealing with Mr. Grumpy. Hopefully the manager or owner reads this and talks to him. It would definitely make my experience more pleasant and leave me more willing to recommend this place to other people.

My family and I have been regular customers for over 10 years now. Their service and quality is consistently fabulous & friendly. One recent complaint — A new hire who works during the days is socially awkward and often says my name 5 different ways when I give it to him. He’s so odd that I’ve decided I won’t be eating here when this person is on duty.

Pretty good soup. Interesting looking sandwiches. I tried the corn chowder and the chicken dumpling. The corn chowder was good, but not as good as Wawa’s(Don’t hate me, I don’t understand how Wawa’s chicken corn chowder is so good… I don’t get it). I could have used a bit more spice in the chowder. I liked the chicken dumpling a bit more. Better flavor, thick cream based soup. So far I like this place better than Simply Soups, which is nearby in Audubon. EDIT: I have tried the vegetarian lentil soup and the pastrami sandwich special. Both were okay. The pastrami sandwich was a little disappointing, but I might be trying to scratch an itch that only The Kibitz Room can scratch(in South Jersey). The vegetarian lentil was pretty good, about the same quality as I remember from the other soups, pretty good, but could some spice or something. I want to try all of their soups, and comb through the menu a bit. But for now, A-Okay.

FAST, FANTASTIC, and WELL-PRICED They are also clean and courteous! QUALITY: Today I had maybe the best cold sandwich I’ve had in my life(corned beef for St. Paddy’s day, with coleslaw and russian dressing). It’s the quality of the bread and the thinness of the meats that does it. The cole slaw is top notch, too! I had the egg plant parm last time, and it was good but not great. Had many turkey and roast beef sandwiches from here in the past, and those were also excellent. But that corned beef today… PRICE: The Price was 8.75 for the 6-inch sandwich(on a hoagie roll) with chips and a fountain soda. The slight size up gives you more bang for your buck, if you are a hungry eater.

So, we got sandwiches to go from this place for the second time today. The first time the food was alright, and we like supporting local businesses, so since we were in the mood for sandwiches, we thought we’d give them another try. We ordered over the phone off the menu on their website. The ordering process was a little awkward; we were ordering things they sounded surprised were on their menu. Strange, but whatever. Unfortunately, this apparent confusion translated into a messed up order. They got one sandwich right, and one sandwich wrong; they used the same meat in both, instead of what we actually said. In addition, the kaiser roll isn’t the circular, lightly seeded roll you’d expect from an expensive sandwich shop, but a squashed white roll square with nothing on top. And adding to all of this, I realized when I got home that their website says some sandwiches are«served with house chips & a freshly sliced pickle spear. Available to-go upon request!» Apparently asking for things to go throws them off, because the sandwich I ordered, which was supposed to come with these things, didn’t. So that’s a few very weird things. Disappointing, but people make mistakes. And I guess everyone’s got their own roll suppliers. But the belittling demeanor of the employees working here is what seals it for me. The people who work the counter here very consistently make rude, awkward comments every time I pick food up from them. I always say that I don’t need a bag, because I have hands to carry things in, and twice now this has made the cashier stop, look up and me and repeat incredulously, «You don’t need a bag?!» Why in the world is that necessary? Are they trying to be jerks? I cannot fathom a place that both can’t make your food right and makes you feel weird for how you patronize their store. If their goal was to make sure I never came back, they’ve succeeded.

Best hoagie ever. Try turkey and American cheese you will not be disappointed. Slightly high price but worth it. I consider myself somewhat of a hoagie expert and this one is like no hoagie I ever had, with softer bread and they slice everything so thin that it all kinda melds in your mouth to make a different more cohesive taste. Absolutely delightful. Not standard though so if you’re expecting a harder flaky Italian roll you’re not in the right place.

On a whim, I decided to try this place because I was in the area for the day. I’m glad I did because the sandwich I got — grilled roast beef with peppers, onions, sauce, and provolone — was really good. All of the ingredients melded together perfectly. I couldn’t stop eating it. That’s the sign of a good sandwich. My only quibble is the bread should’ve been toasted(I wonder if I could get it this way). I got the small, which was pretty sizable and would be a large at a place like Quiznos. I’ll definitely return to try a different sandwich, maybe a cold deli sub.

Fresh hoagies. Fresh food. Came on two different occasions. 1st time ordered the pick of the day which was delicious warm pork sandwich with roasted red peppers and provolone. It came with a fountain soda for about $ 8.50 and came with a side of chips since we opted to eat in. 2nd time ordered the chicken salad with tomato and lettuce. It tasted like tuna, but it was fresh. We got it to go and this time we didn’t get chips with our sandwich but somehow the price was the same? Bread board plus is good but I don’t know if I would continue to come back as the prices are a bit high for hoagies. The bread here definitely tastes really good though. Ugh, I’m conflicted.

I used to frequent this fine establishment at least once a week for lunch when I was landscaping in Haddonfield and surrounding areas. It became one of my local favorites. Expect to spend a cool $ 15 if you want a side and a drink with your lunch, but the sandwiches are excellent even by exacting south jersey standards. My favorites include the Chicken Salad and the Turkey Special(Tuesday’s special!). The staff is very friendly and they know their menu well. Give yourself time, it gets busy at lunch. 5 stars for me.

The Bread Board is a little pricey, but I’m going with five stars, anyway. After a horrible experience at Ludovico’s in Haddonfield, I needed decent soup, and the Bread Board always has a great selection. I was not disappointed, except maybe in myself for not going to this tried and true eatery in the first place. The vegetarian lentil soup was incredible and filling. I’ve never had a bad soup, or sandwich for that matter, at the Bread Board.

Huge hoagies stuffed with quality meats and cheeses and awesome homemade soups await you at this small, unassuming shop. The price is a bit high for a sandwich, but when you taste it, you will see that it is totally worth it.

God bless America for a good old fashioned hoagie. These sammiches are some of the best(aaarounddd), and I try to frequent The Bread Board as often as I can get my tushie to South Jerz(and as often as my wallet can afford). The slice their meat paper thin, and use shredded lettuce for that perfect crunch. They don’t skimp on ANYTHING, and their rolls are so wonderfully soft yet stand up to the weight of the massive contents. They make a mean italian hoagie(i’m a creature of habit…), but their Cheesesteak hoagie and Tuna salad are knockouts as well. I usually spring for the large(which is seriously more food than I think even 2 people should consume in one sitting), and try to save some leftovers… but usually I end up forcing every last bite down my gullet. MMMM good.
