This was supposed to be a 5k(3.1 mile) run. Turned out to only be 2.16 miles. Very pricey at $ 45 per person. You can save $ by forming a team of 4 or more people. It was a good concept… running through 6 flags at night while being doused by colored powder. Then they hosted a dance party afterwards. We were starving after the run and couldnt find food or drink(besides Kind bars and bottled water) at the after party. So we left. Cons. 1. False advertising on the distance. If I had known it was only a 2 mile run I would never have went. They need to be honest about the distance. 2. Pricey. $ 45 is high for a 5k and outrageous for a 2 mile run. Parking was $ 10. Ouch! 3.Confusing pre-race instructions. One part of their web site said the runner’s wave was at 6:45 pm and walkers at 7pm. One part of their web site said the waves start at 6:40pm and go every 5 minutes. We lined up trying to figure out where runners start and where walkers start. Turns out they all line up together but the waves(of both runners and walkers) go every 5 minutes. Not too bad an idea but it means runners have to weave their way through walkers on the course. 4. Little to no post race food or drink. Pros. 1. Good swag. Tshirts. Headlamps. Finishers medals. Neon stickers. 2. Great volunteers. Thank you everyone who came out to help! 3. Prompt replies from organizers on web site communications. 4. Kids. Its a kid friendly race and the kids running appeared to be having a great time.
