Cortland Mansion

I am giving them one star only because 0 wasnt an option. I think the place is very pretty and was willing to pay the money however… jen was not helpful at all. She is suppose to be the owner and coordinator and she knows nothing about the place. When i sat down and was told alittle about the perfect ten i was showed nothing involving it except for a couple pics off her ipad. If you are going to show me each person you deal with and their services i want to see their prices and samples of their work. I was not shown any of it. I asked to talk to these people and sample the cake before i signed the contract and i was told no and to trust her. That was my stupidity there tho. After i signed the contract the communication pretty much stopped. I emailed her one day and got no response, the photographer texted her and right away got a response. She took months to get me linens colors and wouldnt measure the aisle for my aisle runner. I was told to get a normal size one… they come in different sizes! This woman is horrible at her job! And when i canceled she didnt even ask why or what she could do… she just said okay. Do not book your wedding here!

Beautiful place but $ 3000 just to rent the location, way too expensive for Hagerstown!

Two of my friends got married here over the holiday weekend. What a beautiful place! The ceremony was held outdoors behind the building, and the reception followed inside. We couldn’t find the ringbearer pillows, and one of the staff members creatively made us his own with linen cloth. The service was great, although my plate was taken when I was gone to talk to my friends for a couple of minutes — I wasn’t finished eating. There was a bar to the side — I didn’t get to take much advantage of it but it seemed to be running pretty smoothly. Very clean overall inside with an elegant interior design.
Just don’t use a Hagerstown DJ… unless maybe if you’re from Hagerstown. He did not understand what good music is. And the sound system (people?) seemed to have a lot of problems.
