I tried this butchers when we first moved into the area. I ordered several pound of veal shanks to make osso bucco. They looked great, it was only when I got home that I found that they were mostly bone with the meat side up. Fool me once.

I shop each week at Hoffman’s and they always have the best meats and are cheaper than almost all the grocery stores… They have this old fashioned candy section that my son loves and the staff are very knowledgeable about the meats and recipes…

Harrisburg, PA
Absolutely terrific fresh meat & seafood market, with a small «gourmet» grocery shop and a large selection of fresh-​made deli items. Overall, Hagerstown has three great meat markets (Penn Ave Meats and Holsingers being the other two), but Hoffman’s is arguably the best.
UPDATE: I have heard disappointing reports following a recent ownership change, but have not been there to judge first-​hand.
