Well there is a lot I can say here and unfortunately non of it is about the food. My wife and I never made it that far, we left after the water was brought to the table. So I was warned by some coworkers first, but I decided to keep an open mind and try it. When we first walked in to the lobby it was nice and we were greeted promptly. Once we went inside to the seating area, it was a blast from the past of early 1980’s décor. YIKES!!! We also noticed that my wife and I were the youngest there by 30 – 40 years. No that there is anything wrong with that, but we were looking for a little different scene. We went to eat when it was their«seafood fest» and my wife and I both eat seafood, but I did not want to be forced to order it if I didn’t want to. The worst part was, was that their online menu reflected a different«non-all seafood» menu, one of the reason I made reservations. The waitress came over and could see that we were not happy and really didn’t do anything to quell our fears except tell us that there were two steaks on the menu we could choose from… not helpful. So interesting thing that I noticed. They offer Jumbo Lump Crab cakes on their regular menu and on there Seafood feast menu. However the crab cakes on the seafood menu are more expensive. I guess it must be better crab cakes. We decided not to stay and on my way out I asked for the manager to inform him that their menu online was not the same as it was at the table and he had a pampas smile and said«yea sorry about that»…kind of want to punch him. The hostess also informed us that there were two steaks on the menu to choose from… still not helpful. So my wife and I left and went to Runway’s just around the corner. Check out my review there, mush better. We will never go back to this place and inform others of the below standard restaurant this is. Do your self a favor and do not make reservations here. We never tried their food, but I’m really ok with it, all of the signs pointed to us not liking it anyway. Seemed amazing overpriced.

Went here today to celebrate a friends birthday. I ordered the special, fried oysters with rice and a Greek salad. The oysters were anything but special. They were fried until the ends of them were burnt with way too much breading. The rice was okay but the Greek salad was swimming in dressing. So much so that the lettuce was soggy. It’s been a while since I ate there and it will be even longer until I go ack. Not worth the money!!!

Wife took me in Nick’s restaurant on my birthday. The lunch menu was very mediocre and disappointing. The waitress was nice and polite. I was not impressed with the food that I received and was rather disappointed. I don’t have high expectations but the food just did not wow me. I thought the food was kind of overpriced for the small portions that we received. They had decent reviews so me and my wife decided to give them a chance. I didn’t want to complain to my wife on my birthday but when we walked to the car outside, my wife said I don’t ever want to go back to Nicks restaurant ever again. My wife is Asian and very seldom complains about stuff like that. After she said that comment it really open a conversation when we were driving away and we both agreed not to go back. I’m sure the place at one time had great food and can’t complain about the service but I think their lunch menu and food sucks. Actually this was a visit on September 4th of this year. I don’t know what you can possibly do since it was over three months ago. I don’t know what you mean by opportunity at your best? All that I can really say is that we both left the restaurant not feeling satisfied. My response to the portions, if you look at the other Unilocal complaints you will discover people are saying similar complaints regarding small portions for the amount that they’re paying for. So my complaint must be legitimate regarding the smaller portions of food being served when other people are complaining about the same issue. The waitress was nice and polite that day and I have no complaints regarding that person, it did take a long time to get our food served and there were only about three people in the restaurant when we arrived which did not make sense. I appreciate you at least responding to my complaint.

What a wonderful restaurant! Great little place I Hagerstown out by the airport. Fabulous food, great service. We went with a large party and everyone loved their meals, desserts and drinks. No complaints. Service was impeccable.

My wife and I went to the restaurant for my birthday this year. I always wanted to go and after seeing their Kobe beef burger at the best burger Hagerstown competition I had to try. First the food; the burger was great. I thought Kobe beef would be fattier but it was simply super juicy uncious and amazing. It was so good I scarfed it down and snubbed my nose at the fries. Here is where the 3 stars come. I didn’t go up near the country club and this place reaked of the Hagerstown’s elite private restaurant. My wife and were welcomed by regulars bumping my wife’s chair as they rearranged a whole section of the restaurant to cram their party into a massive table and then froze my wife when they left a staff door open to smoke cigarettes. I must say the food was good in fact wonderful but I will only go for lunch and it better be takeout because the atmosphere is very off-putting

I started eating at Nick’s about 46 Years ago. The restaurant was much different then, much smaller and a little lonely on a cold winter night. Nick use to sit an empty in the dinning room doing paperwork. He and I would talk and I told him how good his food was. He offered an Aero-Stat Porterhouse Steak that was really great. Another favorite was was a rack of lamb with the tenderloin remove whole from the ribs served grilled to perfection on top of the ribs. He also served excellent crab cakes. I dined her throughout the 70’s. I returned in 1990 for a great meal. Well, my wife and I returned last night for the first time in about 25 years. Sad to say Nick has passed on and his son is now running the restaurant. While the menu has changed(no more Aero-Stat Porterhouse or Rack Of Lamb, but the Crab Cakes are even better than I remember. My wife’s Filet of Sole with Crab Imperial was outstanding. We enjoyed oysters on the half-shell and Huge Crab Fingers for appetizers. For desert we split a piece of fresh Coconut Cream Pie. It’s nice to know that some things actually improve with age. The then Baltimore Sunpapers reviewer, John Dorsey, reviewed Nick’s Airport Inn back in the 1970’s gave it a rave review. If he were still around I think he would do the same today.

Not impressive. Been here about 3 times. The ambiance is decent but the food is ok most of the time. Today I had the burger and it was gross. I never send food back but couldn’t help myself. Requested the duck wontons as replacement and they are not very good. I’ll be back because choices are limited around here but tonight was awful. Even dessert(coconut cream pie) left something to be desired. :( The date of my visit was 10/14/2015. Thanks for reaching out, Paul. I updated the review because I wasn’t sure how to reply.

Nothing impressive at all and the atmosphere is OLD in all sense’s of the word, just old. Nick — spend some money, put back into your establishment and update your décor. I celebrated my birthday there since I was new to Hagerstown thinking maybe this was one of the better places in the area. Wow, was I wrong… someone from my office told me about this place. What was I thinking… as soon as we walked in I begged my husband to leave. He felt embarrassed to walk out so we stayed and dinner was nothing great. Service stunk, so darn slow… I was literally falling asleep at the table waiting for food. Save your cash, go to Frederick where you can find a better place to eat. This place is like heavens waiting room.

I love this place. Ive never been disappointed with a meal. Tonight they had amazing steak and seafood special. I had Sirloin and shrimp kabob for $ 19.99. Added a crab cake for additional $ 9.99 and wow what a surf and turf delight. Fresh vegetables and mash potatoes too. Also came with a yummy Greek salad. But best of all my waitress Erin rocked the house with amazing service. Ask for her and your dinner will be complete.

First and foremost, we’d like to thank the owner, Paul, for being a dedicated business owner. He seems to genuinely care about the service and products of his establishment, which is why we returned. He let us know that he’s discussed our last experience with his staff, and we noticed quite a few positive changes. A nice addition was the server assistant, who kept our water glasses full and was bussing tables diligently. I’m sure they take a lot of the burden off of the servers since they take care of simple tasks like refills. We were seated in the lounge again, and the pianist was equally as charming as the last time. Our server, Tina, was outstanding. Both myself and my date commented that she must be the best or one of the best servers at Nick’s. She was attentive, cheerful, and helpful in guiding our menu selections. Excellent service will always stand out the most, and Tina was excellent. We made sure to tip her appropriately, too, which was something north of 33%. Having knowledge of the service industry, we generally tip generously but a generous tip should never be assumed(as in our last experience). We ordered: Duck wontons, almond crusted chicken, prime rib, and the peanut butter pie. Everything was cooked nicely and the progression of the meal was steady and timely. The duck wontons had a nice flavor and crunch. They came with a sweet sauce that was delicate and complimentary. The almond crusted chicken was a sweet and savory dish, accompanied by a goat cheese gratin that was out of this world. I wish that was a side item offering for any dish. I will comment that my prime rib was more of a medium+ versus the medium rare I ordered, but it still had a nice flavor and the texture was tender enough that I didn’t mind. I’m not a peanut butter fan, but the dessert was rich and decadent for those who enjoy peanut butter. I’m pleased that Paul takes the time to read reviews and is willing to make changes to better his business. We were very pleased with the changes and we were left with a positive perspective on all counts. Of course, any subsequesnt visit, we’ll be requesting Tina by name.

I’ve been here multiple times. My boss takes us here on special occasions. I’ve tried many different dishes and I wasn’t impressed. The décor is very nice but the host has been snotty each time we’ve been there. The last time he was actually angry that we didn’t call in a reservation for 8 of us on a week night. It was last minute and we didn’t even think to call. I did not like their crab cakes at all, which was surprising since I’ve seen so many good reviews on it. The prices are high for the tiny portions. The wait staff is hit and miss. The last time, it was a huge miss. He was very slow and the food took around an hour and it wasn’t even that busy in there. They used to have an escargot in pastry appetizer that was good, but they no longer serve it. If my boss didn’t take us there, I would not go.

By far the best Steak House in the Area. The blackened crap cakes are amazing. The chicken under the brick is superb and ribeye is to die for! If you don’t know, now you know!

My family and I have had dinner at Nicks 5 or 6 times. Crab stuffed mushrooms and Greek Salad are both good starters. Crabcakes are tasty. My favorite meal so far has to be the scallops. Didn’t think I’d like the Orange Horseradish purée but it complements the scallops very well. Not a fan of the steaks; not cooked all that well for my tastes. Service and staff are friendly. During a birthday celebration our waitresses brought my boys a complimentary dessert. Prices are a little steep but it is a nice treat.

Father’s Day weekend was the first time I’ve been back to the Airport Inn in years and boy was I disappointed! The service was pleasant, as I remember it always was. But, the food was bland and quite boring. The crab dip appetizer was under seasoned and the salmon over cooked. The crab meat had absolutely no flavor and the hollandaise sauce on my salmon tasted like a canned sauce. Very bad! I will never return to the Airport Inn. There are many other delicious options in Hagerstown at lower costs! Stay away, this place has clearly gone down hill.

We celebrated our one year anniversary here. We were seated in the lounge area so we can listen to «the piano man» *:) it was very cozy and romantic! I was the only asian there at the time but who cares *:) the waitress Heather made our anniversary a memorable one, so I could keep in my «collection». I had filet mignon and hubby had NY steak. Our seafood appetizer was excellent! Although I’m a Merlot-girl, I was happy with my Cabernet, just for a change. My entrée was the best! The chef cooked my steak exactly how I asked for. Delicious! This is our second visit to Hagerstown but will visit the restaurant again next time our trip brings us to Hagerstown. Thank You Chef, Management & Staff.

Great food, especially for this area! Atmosphere is nice, causal is acceptabe but you would probably feel more comfortable in business casual — guys slacks and a polo or button up, no tie. Ladies slacks and a top or casual dress. Really not a sweatshirt and jeans place but they won’t turn you away. Was not impressed with the dessert selection

The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, what more could you ask for? This is by far my favorite place to eat when I visit family in Hagerstown. I’ve been for family gatherings, romantic evenings, special events and have always been happy with my experience. If you sit in the lounge there’s a piano player that sets the mood of an old school swanky spot, I recommend sipping a martini to get the full effect. Im not usually one for appetizers but here I’m apps all the way. The apps are inventive and never disappoint. For my entrée I usually get a fish dish from the daily specials and my husband usually gets a steak that comes on a sizzling platter. The fish is always fresh with some kind of delicious sauce and the steaks are so good. Always cooked perfectly with great flavor. Other reviewers have mentioned price but honestly for the quality of the food, you’re getting a deal here, especially compared with what my husband and I would pay in Baltimore for the same dish but made with less care. Whether you stop in just for a meal at the bar or full fledge date night it, this place is a must!
