nice woman behind the counter helped me order as a first timer. They have poor hours, so it has taken me a long time to get here, but I tried a roast beef sandwich they had. Simply great. I will definitely be back.

Simple flavors go very well with the tasty breads. Restaurant has different levels where you can dine. We ate our sandwiches upstairs to see the glass windows above and the vegetation growing through openings of the window. It’s very pleasant and the staff works hard to ensure your time there was not a mistake.

Found them using Unilocal for a quick lunch when visiting Hagerstown for few hours. The restaurant is in an alley and quaint. I agree that food & portions were good. The service was great. We got extra chips for the table without any fuss. We got separate bills when asked . Loved the Gobbler & the soup. Recommend them whole heartedly.

As good as advertised. Just simple sandwiches with the perfect mix of ingredients, some unorthodox, to reach perfection. Who would think to put ham, cucumber, and horseradish together? These people did, and it was delicious! Reasonably priced, too.

A darling little lunch spot tucked away in an alley. The building itself is my favorite part. Basic lunch fare. Wonderful homemade soups perfume the restaurant. Good breakfast sandwiches and homemade bars.

I stop in occasionally for lunch. Bunch of my classmates and I love their trail mix bars. I would recommend gicing them a try with a glass of milk at hand! I’ve tried quite a few of their sandwiches and have not been disappointed yet.

Though this is in a back alley off a main road it still attracts a lot of customers. It is a simple café deli but has some real charm. The servers were fast and friendly, as the food was delicious! There isn’t a lot of room so be sure to get there before the lunch hour rush.

A little hard to find, but totally work the hike thru the snow. We we’re passing thru and saw this place on Unilocal.Amazing food, very clean and very friendly servers. My wife has the fajita pita chicken thing and I had Jim’s chicken filet. And a glass of Snapple. Who has Snapple available in glasses? I absolutely recommend Plum.

I love this place, both for their good, filling, unpretentious lunch food and for their awesome, incredibly accommodating staff. I really have two reviews to give — one for their lunch and one for the café as an event space. Lunch: This is a salad and sandwich kind of affair, but definitely more interesting and creative in their combinations than most places. I had the lettuce-less salad and a smoked turkey bagel with dill cream cheese, cucumber and tomato. The lettuce-less salad is great, and very hearty — I would recommend either having it as your meal or getting it as part of a combo. You won’t need a whole salad and a whole sandwich. The sandwiches are what you want them to be — big piles of meat with the usual add ons in slightly unusual combinations for very reasonable prices. I haven’t tried it, but they’ve got a crunchy peanut butter, raisin, walnut and honey on croissant sandwich that is going to be what I get next time I’m there. You can get chips or carrots and celery on the side. Save room for a trail-mix dessert bar. It was phenomenal — a slightly under baked buttery shortbread with oats and butterscotch. They also serve breakfast. Events: They will host events here such as bridal and baby showers. I am in the process of hosting a bridal shower here and they could not be more wonderful to work with. They will make things to request, and are opening the café on a Saturday just for our party with a very reasonable deposit. The cost per person for the amount and quality of the food is kind of amazing, and the décor is cute and charming. It’s not the right place for a fancy tea, but for a small and casual luncheon, it is just right.

I always have a problem with«woohoo! As good as it gets!» Probably a 4.25 star, but I think it’s better than 4 so I’ll take care of them. The Plum is a very unassuming place with a crappy door(not spring-loaded, so it just stays open…) They’re really cheap, sandwiches are made to order, and lots of options. You order in the front, have a seat, and in ~10 min or less, they bring out your food. Good place for a quick sandwich; Ithey have soup & salad as well, but I’ve never tried it. Most sandwiches are under $ 7and they have takeout if you’re in a hurry. FYI, they have beer. Your options are«regular» and«light.» Must be beer connoisseurs. This is my usual Hagerstown lunch spot when I’m in town.

Probably the best lunch place in Hagerstown. The menu is simple — just soups, sandwiches, and salads — but they’re extremely fresh and the building’s interior is lovely. My recommendations: the Lettuceless Salad is so good that it was once written up in Southern Living, and the Vincent’s Invention sandwich is my personal fave.
