We purchased a white cake with regular white icing(not buttercream) for New Year’s Eve, also my birthday. I did not pre-order this cake, but the clerk was fine with adding«happy birthday» to the cake. The guests could not stop raving how moist the cake was, as well as how wonderful the icing tasted. We will definitely be purchasing more cakes from here!

Great family bakery, each seasonal event Perry Sanders has special bakery treats. Lemmon Merengue pie is awesome! My family has enjoyed the breakfast breads. We love to order birthday cakes. Learned about Fastnaut Day in Feb. & the tasty doughnuts.

I waited in line as a new customer and when my turn came I wanted to order a cake not even decorated and was told she didn’t have time to take my order that I would have to call back later and order it over the phone. Needless to say I was totally stunned and still can’t believe that happened to me. So I guess they have enough business without mine. Needless to say I didn’t call them later to order a cake I called somewhere else and they were happy to help me. I will make sure to let my family and friends know how I treated and not recommend this place of business.

Although I never go out to this part of the state, I have had the pleasure of having numerous goodies from this place. A wonderful delegate has delivered treats to our office where I work. I’ve had a peach pie(which was good, and I don’t even really care for pies 95% of the time) and today we received donuts again. The first time we got donuts from here I tried the coconut one which was sweet but not overpowering. What spurred me to finally make a review was the donuts I had today. It was peanut butter(and coconut on top? I couldn’t quite tell) and divine. Definitely good if you prefer donuts with just enough sweetness to accompany coffee. If i’m ever on a roadtrip and I pass this part of town I would certainly make a pit stop to grab some more donuts!

IFYOUDON’T PUTEFFORTINTO A QUALITYPRODUCT, THENYOUSHOULDDOEVERYONE A FAVORANDQUITOFFERINGIT! I had previously purchased a king cake here, which was excellent. I placed an order for a half a sheet cake for a graduation party. I went in 2 weeks in advance with a picture of the cake I wanted. A simple design of a few stars, a grad cap, and the words Congratulations and Name, which is obviously nothing too difficult. I drive by here every day in the morning at the same time, and the lights are always on. I told them I would be picking the cake up at 7:30, and was surprised that unlike previous mornings the lights were off up front. Even after going in, and 2 other customers coming in the lights remained off. The lady flashed me the cake quickly, and then taped up the box. When I got home I was appalled at the quality of this cake. I’m sure she realized what poor quality this was, hence the lights off and hurried pace. ITWASHORRIBLE! Everything. Not one good thing could be said about anything on the cake. First the cake wasn’t even cut down to even it out. They iced it with the left side being significantly higher than the right. The writing, stars, and lines were horrendous. The stars were poorly drawn, and were all cracked in the filling. The lines were not straight, and the icing pipe was repeatedly broken up as if someone had stopped and started the lines multiple times. Then the graduation cap drawn on was absolutely the worst. It is misshapen, crooked, and the icing was again all broken up. It is a wonder this place has even stayed in business. This quality of cake I would expect from a tenth grade tech student, not a professional bakery. I honestly don’t think the cake could have come out any worse. If you pay for a professional cake, then it should LOOK like a bakery made it. DONOTBUYCAKESHERE!

Cookie Jar is the best bakery in town, donuts are awesome, sweet rolls out of this world, and don’t forget to take a pie home, my favorite is the cherry crumb, taste just like my grandma used to make!!!

Stopped in and got some great fresh baked multi-grain bread that was just out of the oven(still warm). They have great prices on pies and their pastries look delicious. As another reviewer noted, there isn’t a great variety out on the shelves, so ask and see if they have what you are looking for. We plan to return.

Delicious backed goods but the store always makes me feel like I just walked into a place that is either just opening and not quite set up or they are clearing stuff out to close down. I feel like I should tippy toe around the place, its odd. I don’t get it since they have delicious baked goods and their prices are great. They need to up the friendliness and make the store more inviting. Add some color, music, some café tables, SOMETHING. I have stopped in twice but not sure I’ll go there again.

This is the best bakery in Hagerstown, hands-down. The butter & snowflake rolls and the giant cinnamon buns are the stars.
