Tranquility Salon and Spa

Went with my husband for a couples massage. We were scheduled with Izzy & Kelly who both did a wonderful job! It was my husbands 1^st massage, and he really enjoyed it!

I had an Elemental Nature 90 minute massage from Izzy this morning and it was FANTASTIC! I was a first timer at Tranquility Salon and Spa but had heard good reviews from some of my co-​workers and they accepted Spa
gift cards. The lovely, Victorian house was covered in beautiful Christmas decorations. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The receptionist was pleasant and attentive. Izzy is the best masseuse I have had the pleasure to use. She made me feel comfortable from the beginning. Her technique was on point and she gave me exactly what I asked for — get the kinks out and relieve stress. She could tell I was stuffed up so she had me sniff peppermint/​lavender oils a few times during the massage to clear my sinuses. That was heaven! I could breathe! I will be a repeat client!

This spa is in an historic building in downtown Hagerstown. The building used to house an inn, but the inn has closed. The furnishings and interior décor are still in place and they are something to behold. It is a shame that such beautiful antiques, chandeliers, glasses and housewares aren’t being enjoyed by anyone. You pass right through all of that loveliness to get to the treatment areas.
After learning of the fate of the inn, I am a little puzzled as to why they don’t make better use of the space for the spa. The «quiet room» is comfortable enough as a waiting room, but as spas go, it isn’t much to write home about. No fluffy robes, no private place to change, no luxuriating in the serene atmosphere, no soothing music.
The spa uses Aveda products which I adore.
The practitioners know what they are doing. They are skilled and competent. I had the stone massage and it put me in a heavenly state of bliss. Casie was my massage therapist and I will return to her again. Casie was very considerate, polite and showed great hospitality.
