We brought our visiting friends here for a Saturday night dinner and were slightly disappointed. We waited 30 to 45 minutes to get seated and then continued to wait for our server. Many of the people who were seated after us received their drinks and meals way before we did. When we did receive our food it was delicious and there were no complaints(of course we WERE starving by this time). One other complaint was the indoor restroom which was flooded and quite unpleasant… not something you want to experience at the end of a good meal.

A party of four went there on a Tues. evening arriving a little before 6. We waited an hour for a table while roughly half the tables in the restaurant were empty. Finally seated it was getting rather dark; inquired about light and was told there was none. Placed our food and drink order. The drinks were delivered and about ten minutes later the server came back and stated that he «had a bone to pick with us». Told us it would be another hour at least till we got our food. We got up and left, and will never go back!

We visited for the first time last night. I had fried shrimp which was excellent and there was plenty of it. The clam chowder was hot and also excellent. My wife had the tuna which was perfectly done and outstanding. Our only complaint is that the service was very slow.

Excellent food and service. Went on the Saturday before Valentine’s day. Had to wait about 30 minutes but it was well worth it. I had the broiled scallops(they were huge) and my wife the ribeye. We will be back.

Nothing fancy but good food & reasonable prices. Inside or outdoor(screened) tables. Good portions. Wide range of choices. Unique rustic atmosphere. Convenient location for residents of Solivita. Service can range from mediocre to very good. Will return.

We called ahead for our party of 10. We were told they didn’t do reservations. THEYSHOULD. We all arrived about 6:30PM on a weekday night. After waiting for an hour we get seated. Myself and my husband figured at this point we’d order as simple as possible. He gets the Clam chowder, and I order Onion rings and ‘Traditional’ Chicken Wings… to go. It’s now 7:30. My husband gets his soup in about 10 minutes. At 8:30 food starts to arrive… including my to — go order.(They close at 9) The chicken wings were dry as hell… like they had either been fried to death or sitting under a heat lamp for a long while. No batter… just hard, fried, dry skin on them. Inedible. One waiter starts scurrying about cleaning up… you hear a vacuum being run. Tables have dirty dishes on them and we’re are the only people now in the place. We leave with our party still eating. ADVICE: DONOTGOWITH A LARGEGROUPOVER4PEOPLEORPAST6PM. THISPLACEISNOTEQUIPPEDORMANAGEDFORTHAT. Order simple after 6… soup. appetizers…or expect to wait a very long time.

What an awful experience we had today! Waited 15 minutes for a table only to find out only 2 tables in the dining room had customers. Waited over an hour for appetizers, ½ dozen raw oysters and crab, artichoke, spinach, cheese dip with chips. Folks seated at the table behind us got their appetizers before us, they came in at least 15 minutes after us. After an hour or appetizers finally arrived. No spinach, artichoke or crab in the dip! Oysters were awful. After another 20 minutes still no food. We got up and left. I tried to pay for the food we got but the server wouldn’t except it. She was in tears before we got our appetizers. Don’t know what wad going on here but staffing is a BIG issue. We could see in the kitchen and saw only 2 cooks. The place was over run with customers. The lady behind us wanted raw oysters… she was told they didn’t have any. Hmm, wonder what that was I ate? We were totally disgusted with our entire experience here. We won’t be back. We went to Cherry Pocket and ate lunch. In and out in an hour!

The Port is a great little hideaway on the shore of Lake Hatchineha. We had lunch there today and found the food wonderful, wait staff courteous and the entire experience one we would like to repeat again soon. I held back from 5 stars because the bathroom was tiny and the place had a bit of an unpleasant odor.

I don’t eat seafood so I cannot review it, but my table seemed to like the lobster and shrimp. I had chicken fingers, only appetizing nonseafood item they seemed to have. I figured that it would be hard to mess this up, I was wrong. They were just not good. Also, bring your bug spray if you plan on eating outside.

Love having dinner here with my family! The food is excellent and the service is second to none. Our usual servers are Jessica or Leslie, they’re both great along with the rest of the staff as well. Strongly recommend the gator bites! Enjoy!

We just ate there I tried to order oyster on the half shell and they were out of them I then tried to order clams on the half shell and you guessed it they were out. How can you be a seafood restaurant and not have what you advertise that you specialized in the tables were dirty the bathroom were disgusting. They need to have the health department come and do an inspection. I would bet that they fall. Will never go there again. I suggest they close there doors and give up

Went there for my birthday and got steak and lobster! Food was phenomenal and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was good and the staff was friendly. The bathrooms were clean and wait was not an issue. My only complaint was the few mosquitoes that made it into the restaurant. But being that it is on the lake in Florida it is to be expected.

Attention needed Our trip down to The Port Steak and Seafood started with a lack of attention, a theme that would be carried throughout our dining experience. The hostess took quite a bit of time to greet us, after we walked in she left the room even after making eye contact with us. It took several minutes to even get our name on the list! But alas we did, and we waited in the charming foyer of this restaurant. After, a minimal and enjoyable wait we finally were taken to our table. Our waitress greeted us with a friendly smile and took our drink order, this would be one of the 6 times we saw her all night. While she was a friendly waitress, we were all but forgotten and it would be periods of 20 minutes between seeing her! Eventually we did get to place an order, we ordered the Frog legs, Tilapia with baked sweet potato and broccoli, and a fried seafood platter with hush puppies and another baked sweet potato. The sweet potatoes were good, served with butter and brown sugar. Hard to make a mistake there. The broccoli was good, a little greasy with Parmesan cheese. The hush puppies(when we finally got them, they forgot to put them on the plate!) were the highlight of the evening. The tilapia were tiny portions that looked like they came out of a plastic bag from publix. Flavor was ok, fish was slightly overlooked. The seafood platter was fried well, a little greasy and the batter fell off of the scallops. The highlight here was the crab cake fried in a claw, yummy! Overall, the experience was better than some reviews we read, but certainly left something to be desired and definitely left us needing attention!

First time eating alligator, frog legs, and an orange cheesecake… Amazing! –alligator bites: Tasty and delicious –frog legs: Good, a little fishy and greasy but I don’t think that’s any fault of the restaurant. I’m just not used to eating frog, I’d definitely try again. –Sunkist cheesecake: OMG!!! I was never a fan of orangecicles in school but after eating this cheesecake I am not. It was amazing and I wish I could find something like this in San Diego

I went here with my family a couple of weeks ago and I try to find nice things to say about places normally but honestly the only nice thing about this place was our server for taking in all of our complaints without flinching. The food was just terrible from start to finish, and according to my grandma it’s normally very good and the restaurant is usually full of people. But we were the ONLY people eating here on this Wednesday night. Maybe they knew the usual chef wasn’t working that night because whoever was in charge should be re-trained. Okay, here we go. Raw Oysters– were not fully shucked and had a funny taste. Lucky we didn’t get sick. And trust me I eat a lot of oysters so I know what they are supposed to taste like. My side Caesar salad was wilted. Nearly half of the lettuce was old and wilted and that sticky green. I’m actually glad they didn’t mix in the dressing like they were supposed to because then I never would have seen it before I bit into it. When the server brought me a new one he said«They opened a fresh bag for you» oh… great. My grandmothers salmon was a much smaller portion than normal and was over cooked while her baked potato was so cold the butter wouldn’t even melt on it. My sisters scallops were much too spicy for her to even eat. And my grandfathers coconut shrimp were just fine. Yay! Something good! All in all it was a horrible dinner and I will not be going back. I don’t think my grandparents will either and they are regulars.

Awesome find for great food and friendly service with a fantastic view of the lake. My mom and I stopped by for an early bird dinner, and the place was buzzing with families and groups. Really great atmosphere, enhanced by the servers and staff who make you feel right at home. From my table I could see out the large bay windows to the lake, and watch all the airboats whizzing by. Awesome. Really fresh, inexpensive oysters were great both raw, and parmesan baked. A generous serving of fried shrimp came with a choice two sides — our hush puppies were great and the coleslaw was perfectly dressed — not a slimy mayonnaise mess like you sometimes get. The star of the show for me was the orange cheesecake. It tasted like a creamsicle, it was divine. Served with dollops of orange whipped cream. Delicious! I would come back just for this! The Port will definitely be a destination whenever I’m down visiting my mom. Enjoy!
