I have driven passed this place so many times. Thankful I stopped for dinner moments ago. Everything from the décor to the music was pleasing. Food was spectacular & was complimented by excellent service. Lexi is awesome at multitasking and should be commended. Best sushi in the area!

Love the Sushi, my spot when I have a taste for some sushi or coming home late from work and need to pick up something to eat.

This place is awesome. The quality of sushi is great and has a ton of flavor. The spicy Kyle is the way to go. If it gets busy, the service takes forever. I love coming here though.

Worst service. Ignored and not sat for ten minutes. Half the food was forgotten and the waiter had to be reminded every five minutes to bring drinks bring food etc. never received salad and when requested was told they were all out! Staff was kind but needs training in service. Would never return.

Been here a couple of Friday nights before Lent to get my whistle whetted for some fish. The place is super cute and cozy, despite having a large TV in such a tiny place. There are usually two guys on the sushi station and they crank out some tasty fresh fish pretty quick. The wait staff is very casual, yet attentive, so if you’re not a sushi pro, this a good place to go to ask questions and not feel like a complete dope. You can do rolls or boxes. The also have bulgogi options, which I haven’t tried yet, but looking forward to it. They have a lovely miso soup that I order every time. My only complaint is that their wi fi is terrible, so I’ve never been able to post from there. A sweet little gem in Hainesville. A good value and super good food.

We had the Spicy Kyle, Chicago, Rainbow and the Godzilla! My favorite by far was their infamous Spicy Kyle. This was our first time but we will definitely be back due to the proximity of this excellent sushi!

I really like eating here. It is close enough to work that when I get a long lunch I have the time to drive there, decide what I want, order, and eat there or drive back to work and eat. They are very friendly and very quick. I have had sushi at a few other places in nearby suburbs and I can confidently say that this is by far the best overall experience I have had.

This place is a gem. I’ve only done take-out so far, but I’m bound to dine in sooner or later. Service has always been great, staff is so friendly and wonderful. Food is always fantastic and we’ve been exploring different things every time we order. They have the best chicken fried rice I’ve ever had! I hope they stick around for a long, long, time!

I’m new to sushi, but I’ve tried 3 places in the Grayslake area and this is my favorite. The selection is large and the rolls all don’t taste the same like some places. If I’m not in the mood for all you can eat sushi, then I come here. Prices are reasonable but one of the other places in Grayslake offers all you can eat which can be quite a deal. This is a small cozy place that never seems to be overly busy and the food always comes out quickly.

The boyfriend and I love this place. We love the sushi, we have yet to try the ramen. We tend to visit quite often. The service is semi slow but we don’t mind, the staff is great and very helpful. It’s a small restaurant so seating can get a little cluttered. I give it a 5 stars for the taste.

I’ve been going here for years. The staff is GREAT, but after exploring different sushi joints, I found that this place was just alright. Last week was my first time in a while returning, so I’m not hurt that they didn’t remember me — they usually remember their regulars. The staff was still very friendly. We were greeted and seated right away! Small and quiet place; dimly lit. There’s a sizable television located toward the back. Looking at the menu, the food is a little over-priced. I’ve had the Godzilla roll before, and now comparing it to good sushi I have had, it was simply just okay. During this visit, I had the salmon roll and a bulgogi bento box. The salmon roll was very small. I wasn’t expecting much because it was a salmon roll, but I literally paid a dollar for each roll with a very small amount of salmon inside. The bulgogi bento box came with a flavorful miso soup which I enjoyed very much. It wasn’t too salty and had yummy bits of tofu. The bento box itself was rather small as well for the price I paid($ 16). Other places I’ve been to give you very generous portions of the same meal for around $ 11. The bulgogi was too soupy for my liking, but it was still good. It also came with two very small, fried potstickers, salad, and rice. I really enjoyed the salad; it had a sort of peanutty taste to it. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but if you want some good food, this isn’t a bad place to stop. I would go here just for the friendliness of the staff. Other than that, it is a little over-priced for okay food.

A hidden gem for those in the north central Lake county area looking for good Sushi. Surffing around in Unilocal I was surprised to find good ratings on a Sushi place close to home. My wife is from Japan so we are always looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience. I can’t say we found everything at Bento Café but, food wise, this place comes very very close. Quoting my wife(the real judge when it comes to Japanese food), «pretty good for a Japanese restaurant in America, I would come back!» I had Tuna and Salmon nigri sashimi. For something totally different, I also tried the smoked salmon sashimi. The slices of fish were a little too big but were very fresh and delicious. The vinegared rice was not over done with too much vinegar either. Overall, very good. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great place. Love the freshness and the staff there are extremely nice, the lady at the counter even remembered me! I wish this wasn’t stuck at the corner of such a busy intersection with limited parking because if it had a better spot, this place would be a lot more busy.

Was pretty good. Rolls and sashimi was fresh and tasty. Kids said the bento boxes were good and the service was friendly. Rolls that were good: Yummy Yummy, Super Crunch and the Kyle. Especially liked the Kyle as you could get better taste of the tuna. Yummy Yummy was a bit too wide a roll to say the least. I’ll be back. given limited good quality choices in this area for sushi. Only large table seating was at the entry so was a bit cold and breezy.

My daughter and I decided to have date night and try Bento Café. This is a neighborhood gem with some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. They don’t have as varied a menu as some of the suburban places I’ve been, but this place focuses in fresh sushi and great flavors. My daughter had the Gyoza(like pot stickers). They were unbelievably good. Fresh flavor and done perfectly. She also had the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl. Again very flavorful and almost too much food. I went for the sushi. I started with a spicy tuna hand roll. It was amazing. Their spicy mayo was fantastic. We also had a spicy salmon roll and a spider roll. Both were good. The spider roll was a bit bland for my taste. I’d love a better choice of beer but this place was a refreshing change. A must try. Great service too. They did fantastic.

I love this place. I live super close to this place, and I’m glad I do! The prices aren’t too expensive per sushi roll. They also give you a soup or salad with your meal, and all the employees are really nice. If you love sushi, you will not be disappointed.
