Not what it used to be with the new owners, but boy, in its heyday, it was something else. People used to travel from hours and miles away to sample this incredible place’s meats. My family always ordered meat from here(obviously, but it’s not just pork), like steaks, standing rib roasts, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Food was always fresh and really tasty. The little bologna(literally small sphere-like pieces of bologna) and veal loaf(exactly like it sounds) were to die for(and the friendly staff always gave you free samples), and I always washed it down with a Boylan’s Creamy Red(I love how people are enamored with this soda, and it’s served nationwide… it used to be bottled in my hometown and I had a friend whose father worked for them, so we would drink it as kids all the time). I hear it’s not the same since the original owner left, but still, a one of a kind place. Just get there early — after 11am, this place is a madhouse.

They have reopened with new owners who luckily have kept many of the same specialty items from the old store. It is a bit more of a deli now and the meats/sausage selection has gone down. The prices are still fair and definitely still worth a visit for the«tv snacks».

So, so sad. The Haledon Pork store has now closed. Where will we find it’s equal?
