We walked into today just to look at the menu. The owners were both there and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We had samples of everything before the owner put together a bowl of rice, poke, pickled Asian vegetables, I asked her to put together something she would love. We had a SOUL bowl… meaning we ate delicious food, that was put together with care and expertise. We went next door and had them pair a beer with it and put together the best meal on the island. We will be returning each day until we fly out! The garliced garlic was AMAZING.

So right off the bat, way OVERPRICED. It’s a very awkward environment, that’s makes you want to leave right when you get in. The poke is OK, definitely not worth the price or the rather small portions. I would easily drive 3 minutes over to the Waialua General Store and get way better poke for a better price. All in all, lower your prices, increase portions, and put on some stinking music or something, it’s scary in there!

Not so much a «Company», in the sense that you would expect a bustling crowd within, but rather, a peculiar small market cornered in a large bare room. It’s the kind of room you step into and wonder if you’re even allowed to be there. A room that makes you think, «Who the fck stole all of the furniture?», then realize that they just put it all in the back yard for you to enjoy the wonderful Haleiwa air and your poke bowl that you probably could have bought at Foodland. Okay, it was a decent poke bowl with nice crispy bits of limu. The onions probably were too big for taste. You know what? They were pretty big. I wanted to take my OXO food chopper to them because there is no reason for them to be that large. The ahi had a slight glossy outer texture(which just means they’ve been sitting out in the marinade for some time), but I’m too bourgeois and prefer poke to be made on spot for swift enjoyment. It was though, a good mix of ahi with the majority of it being leaner cuts. Besides poke, the fish fillets are uncolored and bought from local fishermen, and they have pu pu like kimchee and edamame. So if you’re walking around Haleiwa and want a quick snack from the sea, then just go here already.
