Tikka Masala, chicken curry, and Coconut Chicken are killer delicious. Chicken was ultra tender. Great and friendly service.

The restaurant has fantastic food and great prices. They serve beer and wine, too. We will be back!

I have only had take out, but the food is always on point. I’ve had the mixed vegetable platter, saag paneer and aloo gobi. All were delicious! The staff is always friendly. We will be returning customers.

Great little family owned place. Buffet is good, but what takes the cake is the Masala Chai tea!

Excellent Indian food. Coconut butter chicken is one of my favorites. I have never had a bad meal. I dine in or do take out almost weekly. Service is great!

I love this place. When I walk in, they know I want Diet Coke. They remember me and greet me!
The food is delicious. I love that they have fish and hard boiled eggs.
Their food always tastes fresh and there are a lot of choices. The samosas are crisp and yummily potato-​y.
They bring fresh naan to the table, and it is soft and pillowy and buttery. I’m getting hungry thinking about it.

I visit here quite here every month and would recommend it for good indian food.
There buffet is great value and the owners are very nice. The place is very clean and the choices are great.
The only negative with the buffet is the grilled boned chicken tandori. I am usually a fan of this as its a healthy option but there’s is quite dry and lacks flavor and spices. I hope they try a new recipe as I would visit much more

Taj Mahal has a lunch buffet for 9.95 on weekends and 7.95 on weekdays. After trying their buffet on the weekend I found that their food but was decent not stellar. It’s not outstanding but you’ll get an adequate sampling of Indian food at a decent price. I’d personally rather drive a little further and pay a few bucks more for food of better quality and taste.

This restaurant is ok. The sauces were nice. I had the paneer butter masala. I couldn’t give a full five stars. The staff were ok. They weren’t real friendly but they were nice as expected from any restaurant.

What a find! At first we drove by, thinking «That can’t be the place with all the great reviews!»… But it is!
We first tried take out. We ordered a ton of food– tandoori, tikka, samosa, naan, and some vegetarian dishes. Everything was delicious, but the tikka was the best! The portions were super generous, and they comped us a free dessert when the food took a bit long to come out.
We have also tried their lunch buffet. For $ 8 during the week and $ 10 on the weekend, you seriously cannot go wrong here. They have delicious home made hot masala chai, a salad bar with many chutneys, plain and biryani rice, various vegetarian dishes (channa masala, palak paneer, etc), tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken chili (spicy sweet chicken) and sometimes goat dishes. They also bring fresh naan to the table. The lady who greets and seats customers is so sweet and always has a smile on her face.
We will be becoming regulars here! The food is all very delicious and the dining space is totally spotless. No dirty floor, not even any dust in the windowsills. Absolutely worth a visit!

If you like Indian food, go to Taj Mahal. If you’re not sure if you’ll like Indian food, go to Taj Mahal. The lunch buffet is a great way to try new tastes and the owners go out of their way to help newbies navigate the menu.

This is one of my favorite spots for Indian food in Milwaukee. I never knew it existed until about three years ago and I had probably passed it by several hundred times. It’s in a small unassuming strip mall on HWY 100, right before you pass Grange. It’s easy to get to from the South but hard to cross HWY 100 at any hour so leaving is tricky.
The food is great, service is great, buffet is awesome. I’ve never been to a place that is more on top of refilling water as these guys and it’s much appreciated. I have dined in and ordered food to go and have yet to find anything wrong with the dishes. Unfortunately the dining room is almost always empty, but that is good for me because I have my pick of tables. I wish more folks would visit!

Great food friendly service !!! I had the goat! I love it and it didn’t disappoint !!! Bf had the chicken tumaric. Also delish !!! Garlic nan was the best !!! Everything was timely and spiced to specifications !! I will Definatly be back !!! Also good beer and wine selections.

The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing! I order my chicken tikka masala medium and they never get it wrong! These guys remember what you ordered the last time… even if you have not been there in a bit.

Food is always fresh and delicious! Love their chai tea perfect to wash down all the yummy food. The owners are friendly and very attentive. The buffet is definitely worth it because you get delicious curry that would fit vegetarians and meat eaters like me plus dessert!

My wife and I have been eating here for years. It’s a comfortable environment with such friendly, smiling service that they almost feel like family now.
I can literally my eyes and point to the menu and expect a delicious meal. We have our favorites the tamarind chicken, saag paneer, and rajma red beans, but we’ve never had a dish we didn’t love.

We were in Hales Corner for an event that was unexpectedly rescheduled. After driving from the Northshore, we needed to find some place to eat. We drove by this place and then looked at Unilocal for reviews. We love Indian food, so we decided to give it a try. Glad we did!
The mango lassies are terrific. I could drink many of these. The poppadoms were good as were the three sauces accompanying them.
We ordered the ½ chicken tandoori, which was served with delicious grilled onions. Yum. The tamarind chicken was also very good.
There seemed to be more options than a typical Wisconsin Indian restaurant.
The only complaint we had was the lamb vindaloo was too sweet and not at all spicy.
We will definitely return to this place!

My family absolutely loves this place. We’ve been for lunch and dinner several times. Our favorite is the lunch buffet because you can try many of their best dishes as well as appetizers, soups and dessert; it’s also a great bargain for around $ 8. There is a good selection of Indian beer and decent wines. But if you’re a non-​drinker, the chai tea served with lunch is wonderful. The warm naan served at your table fresh at lunch is also wonderful.
We lean vegetarian so our favorite dishes include: saag paneer; kadi pakora sandhi; vegetable korma; and malai kofta. If we feel like meat, the buffet always has chicken tikki masala; it’s delicious.
The owners are warm and welcoming and the restaurant itself is casual and comfortable.

I’ve been going here for years. I’ve introduced family and friends to Taj Mahal and they now go her regularly.
For the appetizers a couple of my favorites are the Samosas and Paneer Pakora.
For breads we’ll usually get the Paneer Kulcha and Onion Kulcha.
For my dinner I’m hooked on the Matter Paneer, Indian hot! I’ve also had the Dal Maharani recently, and found that to be very good also.
Add a Mango Lassi.
I’ve always found the people to be very friendly, and from the beginning when I first started going there.
I’ve found the portions to be very good, typical of Indian restaurants, served in the usual Kadai bowls, filled to the very top.
The prices are very reasonable, the typical entrée is around $ 10. Last time we went there with 6 of us, including a few appetizers and a couple of breads, the total was around 100.00. That isn’t bad at all.
The Décor is pretty typical Indian. The only suggestion I’d have is to take out the TV and have Indian music playing in the back ground to enhance the atmosphere, but other then that, very nice.
I’ve always found the place to be very clean and not something that hasn’t been updated for decades, the restrooms are kept clean (I hate how some restaurants (often smaller ethnic places) seem to cram the bathrooms in a small corner, that don’t look like they’ve been updated for 40 years.
As others have said, they’ll bring out extra rice for you when you have leftovers to take home.
I am biased I guess. We’ve been going there regularly for years, they know what I’m going to order (I guess I’m in a rut), he must have over heard it was my birthday so at the end he brought out a complementary desert. But we wouldn’t continue to be going there if we weren’t very pleased with the food and/​or service, and a number of my friends and relatives pretty much have the same comments about the place. I’ve been to various Indian places in the area over the years and the Taj Mahal is as good or better as most of the other places in town.
This is my first review, so I know it’s long winded, but tried to touch on as many different aspects of the dining experience. And yes, I’m biased, but only because of the very pleasant experiences over the years.
