Great Pub. Food is always delicious & more than enough. Nice selection of great beers. We typically make this a stop for lunch when in the area. Service was friendly, pleasant & attentive.

Our server was friendly but they served me practically raw bacon on the Triple B burger. When I mentioned it to our server at the end of the meal, her response was akin to a bunch of blah blah blah about how they cook it. It was pretty gross.

This place is a lovely historical gem located in Hales Corners. Many kudos to the current owner for restoring the Bosch to it’s original Victorian charm. Recently, my husband and I met up with a friend here for dinner. Seeing as it was a Friday night, I had to try their fish fry. If you love a good fish fry, you absolutely have to try theirs. You have your choice of beer battered fish, baked haddock, or the haddock fish boil. I opted for the beer battered fish fry. The 2 pieces of fish that I received were large and flavorful. The meal came with a side of french fries, coleslaw, and rye bread. If fish isn’t your thing, Bosch’s offers many other choices: appetizers, soup & salad, burgers, and sandwiches. I’ve had the opportunity to try some of their other food, and it is all very good. They also offer a full bar, with lots of different beer on tap and plenty of liquor for just about any mixed drink you can think of. I’m very glad that this place is only a few min from my house. This summer, I will make a point to check out their beautiful patio.

As-expected bar food, although a commendable variety of beers to please all drinkers. Service is not quick, but if you become a regular, I’m sure you will be seated, served, and checked on more. Burgers are a must and the weekly entice you to stray for the«go-to»! A great beer garden in the warmer weather contains the game hammershlaggen — always fun!

Off street parking, beer garden, and a smoke shack. Nice casual atmosphere, the décor makes you feel like you’re at a lodge up north. We’ve been here a few times and have been pleased with the food and service. They have a decent beer selection, good burgers and sandwiches, but do yourself a favor and ask about the specials if they don’t mention them. On our last visit I got a smoked pork belly sandwich that was a Saturday lunch special. It was a thicker BLT basically, so it took a little more effort to chew, but it was worth it. It was a late lunch for us, and I regret not going a little later because I totally forgot about the smoked ribs(Saturday special after 5 pm) and they are damn good! Their ribs are some of the best I’ve had. Thick, meaty tender deliciousness. They don’t cover them up with a thick sugary sauce. Nope! They use a dry rub and smoke them for hours. So good. I first heard about these ribs a while back after I put an order in for a burger. Good burger, but I would have gotten the ribs had I known. Somehow I missed it. Like I said, it’s a Saturday dinner special, and from what I hear they always run out so if you want them don’t get down there too late.

This place has captured the unique vibe of townie bar meets high quality restaurant ! One of the best patios I have seen in Wisconsin. They have seating for couples and big parties. They have a outside beer garden they open up for special events. They do serve to you out there every day . I was very pleased and impressed by my experience. It was a overcast, on and off drizzle kind of day. They were still accommodating and let us sit outside. We got got the wings and fish fry. I usually don’t get a dry rub wing, but I’m glad I did. Their fish fry is also my new favorite. The batter almost has a sweet hint to it. The coleslaw has dill in it, which is also a refreshing twist. Our waiter was super sweet and brought us a extra ranch without us even asking her to ! It was my first time here but I feel like it’s going to be a regular go to place !

We have been here twice now and they were even busier last night. We had a great waitress and I noticed they all seemed to help each other out too. I had popcorn shrimp and a ceaser salad. They were both delicious. My drink was great too. My husband tried the brisket sandwich and he said it was some thet best he’s had around Milwaukee. His beer was ice cold which was another bonus. Great location and lots of outdoor seating if the weather permits. Give it a try!

Please do parents a favor and add some fruit, or a juice drink to the $ 5 dollar children’s menu. Beer is also slightly warm.

The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and welcoming. The restaurant appeared clean and had interesting nostalgia décor to keep interest. The expansive interior had smaller intimate nooks to nestle into for a meal and conversation. I tried the fish fry with a salad and nibbled my guest’s baked potato. The salad dressing seemed thin, certainly from a jar. By the time I finished the generously-sized but unimaginative green salad-which was delivered at the same time as the main course-the batter on the fish lost its crispness. The fish was ok but slightly chewy, a sign of overcooking. I was disappointed every side came in little plastic disposable cups; the cole slaw(right off the Sysco pallet), salad dressing, sour cream, all were reminders of landfill waste. The setting and service made up for the mediocre fish fry. We sat inside but the outdoor seating area looked fun.

Maybe I just dont’ get this place? The boyfriend and I live SUPER close to this place, so it’s convenient, but we don’t really enjoy coming here. The good: I love the old bar area and the history of the building. It’s also got a pretty sweet beer garden area that looks like it would be a blast during the summer months. The food isn’t too bad either, and they usually have pretty decent week night beer and food specials. The bad: The wait staff just aren’t that friendly. I’ve never felt welcome here by any of the waitresses or bartenders and have always felt like a nuisance to them. Not fun. Also, maybe it’s just us, but we don’t feel like we fit in there. Like, there’s some sort of secret club and everyone else in the bar is in it except us. We just don’t ever feel welcome by the staff or other patrons when we’re here. I’m sure we will make our way back at some point since its so convenient and the food is pretty decent, but we definitely wont go out of our way to stop here.

What a dump. I used to go to Bosch all the time when my husband and I started dating. Every once in a while we will stop back in. It has been rapidly declining. I used to look forward to their winter specialty drinks, they don’t have them any more. During the warmer months I ask for honey jack on the rocks, it never fails I get less than a shot. I’m not even joking and it’s about $ 9. This place is pretty sad. The inside has such potential to be something really great, instead it’s a hodgepodge of paper décor according to the holiday and dust. The food is frozen food isle junk and the staff sucks. There is one bartender in particular who has bleach blond fried out hair and is as rude as anyone I have ever met. She has no idea how to serve alcohol. Be sure to have her just pop beer bottles open for you if you want your monies worth.

The Bosch is another one of those bars that is a go to for me. I have never had a bad experience at the bar. I have eaten and had drinks here several times. I love their martini menu. The Sweet Tart is fantastic! I would recommend this bar for more casual drinking, just because it can get a little pricey for a lot of drinks. Their food has always been very good. They have great sandwiches. I love a large menu but The Bosch has a little bit of a simpler menu, typical bar food, but not greasy and fried. My favorite part is the atmosphere. I love the cozy corner bar feeling of this place. There’s usually just one or two bartenders but they are always friendly and give great service. I have never felt like I’ve had to get someone’s attention because they are always on the look out for you. Overall a great spot to grab a drink and some food!

Here’s another one of those places that I ask myself«why haven’t I ever been here before?» It’s located conveniently on the corner of Janesville & Hwy 100, been there«forever» and I’ve never stopped in… until recently and am I glad I did. What a great place. The décor is warm and inviting, the staff is friendly and selection of beers is awesome. Within one week I returned. I was there for lunch and the food was fantastic. We had a french dip and a burger special. Lots of food for the price. Returned on a Wednesday and brought a different friend and we had appetizers and drinks. Wednesday has an appetizer special(didn’t know that but it was a bonus) One of my new favorites. Now I have to go back to try the fish fry everyone raves about. I will update my review then.

So, I heard only great things about the friday fish fry here and I was a little disappointed. They give you pretty generous portions for the $ 10 Friday special but I thought the quality of the fish itself was terrible. It tasted«fishy»(in the bad way) and there were some fish bones still on it. I’m not sure if they order the fish already filleted or if they clean it themselves but I was unimpressed. The beer batter was okay. They don’t give you much lemon to squeeze on which was another pet peeve for me since I love drowning my fried fish in lemon juice. The tatar sauce was good and their onion rings we had as an appetizer were really good. Disclaimer: my group had a spilt decision regarding the quality of the fish fry. One person thought it was great, somebody else said it was just a «typical» fish fry. I didn’t care for it. But, I’m writing this review so they get 2 stars. Service, eh. I’ve gone back and forth between this. The waitress was friendly and nice but it felt like she came by our table once a blue moon. As we left, I was pretty unhappy. Since thinking about it, I think she might have been the only waitress working at the time. The atmosphere was really good and cool. They have cool old pictures of the bar from the old-timey days and it’s really cool to be in a place with history. The interior of the bar has like an old tin roof that looks like it was from the set of Deadwood. Pretty sure that might be the original bar from when they place was built. They had a good beer selection for your casual beer drinker(Fat Tire, Spotted Cow, Guinness, etc. etc.) If you want a place with 500,000 beers or your underground bizarre Triple IPA craft beer that only you know about because you’re a beer snob, then go somewhere else. I was unimpressed Friday night by the fish fry. But, it was a neat place so I want to go back to try their burgers.

Another great meal! I tried the Holiday Turkey Sandwich: turkey, cranberry chutney and Swiss cheese on cranberry wheat bread with a side of fries(or cottage cheese, if you choose). Delicious! While not what I would consider a «go to» sandwich, it tasted even better than it sounded on the menu. I thought I was wimping out because I was barely half way through the sandwich when I thought that I had hit the wall, but my dining companions, 2 grown men and a teenage boy, who all ordered the half rack of ribs, apparently were feeling it too. The teenager went home with leftovers, which I’m sure he will enjoy just as much tomorrow. I sneaked a taste of my husband’s ribs and, I have to say, they were pretty damn good! Thick with meat and not grossly covered with some sickeningly sweet barbecue sauce. Accompanying the ribs were seasoned potato wedges which were pretty darn good in and of themselves! This is a Saturday special, so I may have to get them myself, the next time we stop in. 10÷2014÷13

Descriptive phrase: comfy and classic corner bar. A group of us stopped in to grab a few brews at Bosch Tavern in between a wedding and the reception. What a great choice! We’d wondered what it was like in the large white farm house we pass on Hwy 100 so often. There’s parking in back, and a really great patio area between the house and the neighboring building(plus Hammerschlagen!). When we walked in off the wrap-around porch we seemed a bit out of place(dressed nicely in a large group), but they didn’t balk at us pulling two of the heavy wooden table together. I don’t know if there’s a seating area, but the entrance is a large bar with a few games, a few TVs, and a few tables. They featured a respectable amount of interesting beers on tap, especially for what I expected to be a townie bar. $ 5 for a pint of MKE Outboard, $ 5.50 for a slightly-larger Optimator. Totally worth it. Comfortable experience, nice staff, friendly atmosphere.

The big question on Fridays in Wisconsin is «Where should we go for a Fish Fry?» This weeks answer was The Bosch Tavern in Hales Corners. To be honest I have only stopped by for a casual cocktail with friends but never to eat. The entrance sign at the back patio stated they we famous for«Hand-Made Old Fashions and Fish Boils» so I indulged in both. I was pleasantly surprised. My whiskey old fashion was freshly muddled with cherries, bitters and syrup we added olives for that sweet salty taste. The drink was a perfect pour. On to dinner, we were seated in a large room that was still cozy with the warm woodsy paneling on the walls and not to noisy even though it was busy. My friend asked for extra coleslaw and they kindly obliged and did not charge extra(nice perk) and was served with a slice of marble rye bread. The food arrived in a timely manner, hot and delicious. The fish boil consisted of seasoned cod accompanied with Hollandaise sauce(yum) real mashed potatoes and tasty large cuts of carrots($ 10.99). The food portion was generous enough to take some home. The hostess and server were both attentive and polite. I will be back. –mjs
