I absolutely love the opportunity to learn authentic dance — and to live drummers, too! Anyone, at any level of dance skill, can join the dancers and learn our routines. And if you like drumming, the same goes for you: you can be a novice and learn a simple part and as you progress you can learn more complex parts. When these elements are combined the result is stunning. What a perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Sandor is an incredible master artist. He is a cultural ambassador from Congo with deep knowledge of dance, drum and song. He is a committed and gifted teacher with a huge heart! I’m so grateful to have studied wtih Sandor for almost 15 years. Learning about Congolese culture and African culture has been am amazing journey, and Sandor has been an irreplaceable teacher! Check out Sandor’s painting of traditional African village scenes — they’re incredible too!!!

Sandor has been teaching me for about 3 years. He is a fantastic teacher of Congolese dance, drumming, song and culture. During this time I’ve seen him coach small children as well as older adults(like me). He is always gentle, soothing and charming. The setting next to Half Moon Bay is beautiful, but to be honest, I could learn dance from this guy anywhere. Time and place seem to be suspended when I am learning from him. It’s the highlight of my week. Richard Jones
