Great bar very good service and weekend music is the best on the coast. Food next door is also top notch. Be sure to catch your Mavericks and all sports view there on the big screens. Ask for Brian and your first drink is on him.

The best bar/café in Half Moon Bay by far, if not the west coast. The owner and Allie the bartender are good genuine people. That’s hard to find these days. We felt so welcome. Thank you for such a great experience!

Best hamburger! Crispy grilled onions, slightly charred burger, dripping with good flavors! Fantastic French fries too. Dress warmly on cold days.

Good vibes, good drinks, and was welcomed like a regular. Love this place! Anytime I go coastal this is the place for a great bloody mary, good music from the Juke box and good company.

The bouncer was having a hard time so I peacefully broke up a fight last night. His buddy came running out and blindsided me. I got attacked from behind. The bouncer did nothing, let the guy back in and watched as he drunkenly tried to pick a fight with me numerous times. Stay away after 10pm to avoid the townie rift raft.

Fun local pub and dance hall to get your groove on with the locals. Nice outdoor patio space and often open pool tables, even on a crowded night surprisingly.

I’m torn on how many stars to give due to a couple of experiences with getting service here. I live just a few miles down the road and come at least once a week or once every couple of weeks with a group of friends. We always get food next door and then come here into the bar portion to get our drinks. There’s often 6 – 10 of us and we often get a couple rounds of beers. Well, I was at the tail end of the group the other day and hung out at the bar waiting for a good 10+ minutes. There was a group of folk from England and a couple people to my right that already had been served. I’m understanding because I see the bartender running back and forth like crazy so I try not to be huffy and pissy when it takes a bit. He got a couple drinks for group, looked at me, got some more drinks for them, looked at me as he walked by, got them some more drinks and then they were all paid up, he walked past me to a group of people who had just gotten there, looked at me, high fived with them and proceeded to serve them… I walked next door to the restaurant, was served immediately, and hope my money went to them. We hung a bit and opted to go elsewhere as a group after that. I was standing there solo, but was going to get the next round and open up a tab for my group… We had planned to hang out for awhile, eat, drink, but we finished drinks and left. Not my first time having lacking service(beyond it being slow because of one guy being in high demand). I didn’t recognize the guy who was serving yesterday, but he wasn’t one of the usuals I’ve had prior. Anyways, this place is good and there’s some great folk working there and they support some good breweries. I just caution their staff, especially on days when it’s quieter, to not judge the solo person standing there. Sam’s Chowder House was closer to where we work and we were going to walk up there, but opted for the OPL because the service and atmosphere are better… and I had crummy service. Bummer. Hope it’s better next time.

Best pub Grub CoastSide! Grass fed beef burger, sea food right out of the harbor, battered, seasoned and fried to perfection and presented as 3 full size tacos, fresh salads, and locally grown brussel sprouts picked from across the road and sauteed in buttery love. Excuse me, I digress as this is a bar, that owns the joint next door that is killing the food in a bar environment. This bar is low key, fun, and truly the territory of locals. The service is great and it’s a very nice hang out that is kid friendly during somedays when there are games or local bands. This is a great place to hang to meet locals, relax and try on the surfers spirit.

Really great stop on our personal beer crawl down the beach of Half Moon Bay. We only stayed for a beer and a shot. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender and other patrons. Most people in there seemed like locals which was a nice change from all the tourists outside. There are 2 pool tables and clean bathrooms. Outside seating in both front and back. And a stage. I would definately return

Always a fun time. Bartenders always friendly. They could use a server there for help but even when bartender by himself he does a great job. Totally relaxed and good vibe. Every time we go here we wonder why we don’t go more often. Will go more often

I love the town of Half Moon Bay. It’s so close to the City and it’s a nice place for a weekend getaway, or maybe even for a night out with the wifey. The Old Princeton Landing is a local bar right in the Pillar Point Harbor of Half Moon Bay. It’s a good neighborhood and flanked by good restaurants and businesses. You can tell it’s also frequented by locals just by watching the interactions between the bartenders and customers. Like any local bar, there are Niners, Giants, Warriors and A’s memorabilia hanging on the walls. There are 3 big screen monitors over the bar that are usually turned on to a local sporting event. You may even ask the bartender to change the channel for you, as long as it is sports related. There are plenty of tables inside and even more in their backyard patio. There are also seating in front of the place for those who like to people-watch. They don’t serve any food, but you can grab some grubs next door at the Silver Star Grill & Gallery. There are also a couple of pool tables on the left side of this bar as you enter from the entrance so it’s very spacious. They even have live bands playing on select nights and weekends. And it wouldn’t be Half Moon Bay without a little touch of local flair. There are surfboards displayed hanging by the ceiling, and each one of them have a history behind it. Yes, those are actual surfboards used during the Mavericks competition signed by the surfers themselves. The bartenders are friendly and the vibe is chill. Plus they have a good selection of beer, hard liquor and mixed drinks. It’s a cool local bar and you’re just a few steps away from the beach. But don’t drink and surf.

Decent bar that appears to attract more locals than tourists, probably due to its location. Theme is part surfing /part 49ers /part Giants. Bartender was friendly, and his pours were average. The outdoor patio was a good size and looked like a decent place to hangout on a nice day/evening. Lastly, while the bar was clean, the men’s bathroom reminded me of one you’d find in a dive bar at a local college… Cheers! RS

Came here for the Red Bull Mavericks viewing party(saw Red Bull promoting it on their FB page), & super glad I did. I brought an 11-year old, 3.5-year old, &1-year old, & it was surprisingly really great for kids! Everyone was really nice, the boys ran around the stage, the floor, booths, & a great time was had by all. They even have a nice enclosed patio in the back. I would HIGHLY recommend this spot to anyone looking for a family-friendly spot to grab food, a drink, etc.

Stopped by there this morning, 3/15, and I had a good bloody mary, thank you Dave. The bar has a good selection, and my wife also enjoyed her cocktail. The place is great. There is some parking out front, and lots of parking just north of there. Once inside, there is ample seating, 2 dart boards, 2 pool tables, and a mix of locals and tourists. And if you’re hungry, it is connected to the restaurant next door… And my wife says I must ad, «The women’s bathroom is roomy and clean.»

I love OPL. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and the upgrade makes all the difference. Fantastic place to watch sports(although, speaking from experience you might want to frequent the place before you try to attempt to change local teams). Drinks are strong, staff is friendly, and there is great music on weekends(even during the week sometimes). You can always pick up some tasty food next door. I always come here when I visit the coast.

Exactly what I want in a local bar… decently priced drinks with a strong selection and poured well! Friendly staff, great location, and I always enjoy catching a game here, particularly during football season. It does not hurt to have Silver Star directly next door so that I can grab food while having a drink as well. Definitely a plus!

The look of this place reminds me of a roadside biker bar, with no bikers. PRO: Was there when«Billy Bates» DJ was on stage and stayed there for the music and the Newcastle. Drinks are strong. Bartenders don’t look happy with a busy bar, wish they had at least one pro-bartender to keep the social part in full swing. Bartenders were still good and wouldn’t complain except many people became sober waiting for their next drink. The reunion class of «91» was in the house and honestly they were a big part of the draw for sticking around. CON: Too much«jail bate»
