Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Needed a place open after 6pm for the oil change I had been putting off for a while. Super convent– Right off 35 and I’m the only customer here. No pressure sales, just an informative «your left license plate light is out and you could use new windshield whippers». Perfect!

Most convenient location ever! Fastest and friendliest service on an oil change I’ve ever received at an autoshop. I’ll definitely be making this my regular shop.

I’ve been at this location several times in getting my vehicles serviced and have walked away each time very satisfied with the work done. The staff here, managed by Chuck, is very good in what they do. Not only do they do the job thoroughly when it comes to oil changes– they do it promptly and explain the recommended services (i.e, air filter, battery, gasket leaks) in a manner that is very easy to comprehend as well as without any additional sales pressure. They have been very consistent in their recommendations for the last 8 months for me, and their estimates have always been spot on when comparing it to the market rates in terms of labor costs + LKQ (like, kind & quality) and after market parts that they either have on hand or can have ordered.
Yet there has been one thing that has stood out to me the most when visiting this facility: the employees doing just a little bit extra for you. In most cases (particularly at autocare facilities), you just don’t see this concept being put into real action. I see it almost every time that I am here. Case in point: the last time that I was here, I asked an employee if he could recommend a body shop in the area for minor work to be done on my bumper. The employee took a look at my bumper and noted that he may be able to assist me. In a span of 10 minutes (and after my authorization), he fixed the bumper issue by using a couple of tools. Now mind you, this was not expected! And the employee did this at no cost, thus going that «extra mile» for me.
The same thing occurred again on this visit. After the oil change service had concluded, I asked Chuck (the service manager) if the driver’s side seat belt could be fixed due to it not locking in place correctly. Expecting Chuck to just give me a recommendation of a service center or the car dealer, he gets in the car and fixes the problem in under a minute. He then proceeds to explain what he did and made another recommendation on how to properly lock the seat belt in place. Again, completely unexpected and without charge, and very much appreciated.
I’ve been to quite a bit of service centers in my adult life where I felt that they were hit and miss when it comes to quality of vehicle service as well as quality of customer service. This location has been consistently hitting the mark for me in both quality metrics. Thank you Valvoline, and thank you Chuck for all that you and your staff do for putting the customer first in safety as well as in service satisfaction.

The guys here are always really friendly, and the waiting area is really clean. Fast & effecient. The only place I go for an oil change!

I went here the other day expecting it to be just like every other oil change place I have visited and was proven VERY wrong! I got my oil changed and inspection done in about half an hour as opposed to the typical hour it normally takes. Everyone who works there was extremely friendly and they even reset my «oil maintenance required» indicator, which one of their competitors not too far up the road didn’t even know how to do. This was definitely the first time I have been impressed with an oil change station and from now on I will not go any where else. Great job everyone!

I would not take my car here. I recently had some major things happen to my car and this place was not really willing to help. I went to the Valvoline in Saginaw to get an oil change and my inspection done. Well my battery was bad and need to be changed. We changed the battery but my altinator was also bad. I managed to get that fixes but my car was still not totally working. So my husband had the battery checked. It was a bad battery. So my husband took my car back to Vavoline to get it changed. They didn’t have one so the manager called this Valvoline and told them my story and asked if they had a battery. So my husband took it to this one and the manager wasn’t very helpful. He wanted to charge $ 20 to change out a bad battery because his Valvoline and the one in Saginaw are owned by different people. You would think that after the Saginaw manager explained the situation the would make it right for the customer instead of nickle and dimming someone. Will never go to this one and will tell everyone I know not to.

I wish I had something to write about this location, but unfortunately they never got to do my oil change.
I’ve been actively looking for another place to get my oil change (since I don’t like my current dealerships customer service) and I decided to give these guys a try today.
So I pull into the lane and was immediately greeted by an associate (are you reading this Freeman Toyota?).
I asked him how much an oil change was and what it included. He told me $ 35 dollars (*yikes) to replace the oil and change the filter.
Then he told me that they also check filters, tires and fluid levels and will fill the fluids if needed (except for the brake fluid). Pretty much a standard service at most oil change stations.
I was willing to give it a shot, so I pulled in, went to the small lobby (just like Patrick L. describes) and filled out the short form I was given.
Not long after I was in there, another associate asked me to step outside and he told me that they didn’t have a tool to take the oil filter off of my car (some story about another associate leaving it on a previous customers car and they’ve been trying to order the tool but haven’t received it yet). So he apologized and I went on my way.
Man am I so glad that I didn’t get my oil change at that time.
Little did I know that the sign posted out in front of the store has a promotion for $ 10 off an oil change done between 8 AM to 10 AM (Mon. — Fri.) (*whew). I don’t know how long that promotion lasts, but it’s there for now.

So it’s an early oil change for me when I go back to try them out (or at least a coupon in hand).

Ah the dreaded oil change to our car…
Arrival Time: 9:42 AM.
I prepare for a trip to get my oil change or car inspected much like I treat a visit to the doctor’s or dentist’s office. It ALWAYS seems like you make an appointment for a set time THEN you still end up waiting up to 30mins to an 1hour after your scheduled appointment time. So I come prepared for all these things with a couple of magazines, cell phone games, and a drink.
Oh Valvoline Instant Oil Change proved me wrong. There was a car who pulled into the «Car Inspection» line before me and I was prepared for them to be slow and sluggish.
Departure time:10:10AM.
They literally did my car inspection within 15 minutes. I have been here other times for my oil changes and this place is so efficient, it’s ridiculous. Compared to my other stays at other oil change places, where one time I waited a ridiculous 2 hours to get my oil change. Valvoline Instant Oil Change is a BREATH of fresh air.
The customer service here is pretty awesome. They’re really friendly. You can see everything they’re doing because they have all glass windows leading into the garage. They work as a team on each car to speed up the process, and they weren’t even backed up! That’s great for any customer. They also don’t try to sell you things you don’t need. That has always been a complaint of mine. One time a guy told me my air filters were out, me, being a huge skeptic, said I would wait later. I let my Dad look at my car, and sure enough the air filters were filthy.
Small downside is the waiting room has no tv and a very short supply of magazines. Other than that, definitely recommended for your car maintenance needs. Short and sweet!
